WOW! Most horrible experience ever buying a car. Purchased a low-mileage 2018 CRV from Anna Lane in used cars. It has now been back five times in the month we’ve owned it. After three different trips to pick up the car, go back to get the floor mats, go back again to get the remote reprogrammed, the AC went out in 108-degree weather. Learned that several 2018 models are coming from the factory with overcharged AC, which causes it to cut out when it gets hot. Spoke with Dwayne Thomas from the finance organization, who was primarily concerned with ensuring that we finalized the financing with Capital One who they sold the loan to. He also mentioned that if the AC was going to go out, you’d expect it to do that when it gets hot (very helpful…). He’s the same guy who was pushing the extended warranty so hard, he gave it to us “below cost” (wonder why…) It’s now back again after all of the safety warning lights began flashing. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Brake System…you get the idea. Now I’m wondering if the fact that the CarFax on a car with 660 miles starting in Florida, getting registered in Ohio, showing up in a dealership in Georgia, and then being sold (unfortunately) to us in North Texas might indication someone trying to keep us from recognizing a storm-damaged car. Also lots of other unexplained weirdness with the electrical system – phone intermittently disconnecting from Bluetooth, car locking when closing the back doors, etc. No hard evidence, just a lot of red flags…Buyer Beware!!!
DON’T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO BY THIS DEALERSHIP. I was inquiring about a car from this dealership. I received a call from Dominique, sales representatives, asking about my inquiry on the 2017 Honda Accord I told him I inquired and spoke to someone 2 days ago and things didn’t work out. He asked if I can come look at the car in person. I told him that the dealership was an hour away and he said if I come in to check out the car he is willing to fill up my gas tank, purchase is not necessary. Since it sounded fair I told him I can check out the car the next day which was 07/07/2018. Once I was there I told him that I want the car out the door for 16,500. He said he will speak to the manager and see what we can do. He asked how much I can put down today and I told him I can do $3k down. The car is listed for $16,995 he came back with the total purchase amount of 24K with options and dealer fees of 1800. After taking options off with tax and fees only the price came down to 18K. He said oh great you will only have to put 2K and finance the 16K. I told him no that the 16,500 including down payment. He pretended to misunderstand the down payment which I understand that he was just being a sales person. He asked if I can come up to 17K and I told him unfortunately I can’t due to my current financial situation. When he came back he told me the manager can’t do that price and also he can’t help you with gas because the car doesn’t have any cosmetic issues. I told him that’s not what he said over the phone and if he would have I wouldn’t have driven this far. I told him he simply just lied about the gas just so I can come down there. Right then he started getting offensive. He told me don’t call me a liar, I will not tolerate that and started raising his voice. I tried to explain to him about our phone conversation but he kept raising his voice. Since I was there with my sister mom and aunt it was disrespectful of him to speak to a customer in that way, that too in front of my family. As I was leaving with my family, he followed me out the door being rude and loud. Once we were outside he started cursing at me and his whole time another employee of Vandergriff Honda was just standing there watching his coworker being disrespectful.
I told him he is getting upset because HE lied and by this point he’s up to my face so I put my hand near his shoulder and told him no offense but I don’t want to do business here. He said “Get your hands off me bruh” and was ready to fist fight when I was ready to walk away he said Fuck you pathetic Indians. I couldn’t believe that he was being racist. I went inside to speak to manager and the director of used sales car Kyler Oakes, who was just standing inside the glass door not willing to even come out to apologize or even speak with me. I was standing there waiting to talk to a manager while all the employees went inside the glass door and didn’t even acknowledge my presence. At this point I started recording and ask the guy who was outside with Dominique if I can speak to the general manager and I was told he’s not there today. I said can I get some other manager and he said he’s the manager which I know for a fact he wasn’t a manger. I asked what actions were going to be taken and he said he was going to speak to the manager about it which I have it on camera as well. I decided to leave because no one wanted to speak to me there. When I left I decided to call and left voicemail for Cade Simpson, General Sales Manager
but what a surprise it’s been 3 days and I have not heard anything from anyone of them. I would never recommend anyone to go buy a car there specially they just watched someone be racist and not even say a word. The guy wanted to literally fight me and nothing was done about it even to the point where the director just watched from his window.
Excellent service as always!!! Mike Symank was very accomodating and attentive to what was needed on my wife’s car before leaving to go on a summer road trip. The traveling on the road was great and we felt comfortable and safe the entire time. I would definitely recommend Vandergriff Honda and Mike Symank for any service or repair needs. Thanks to everyone!!!
Such a personable young man who was both knowlegable and thorough. He took the time to get a real grasp of our needs and personalities.
We felt sorry that he had to work for such controlling management. They low balled our trade-in so much and added fees, that it undermined our trust–even though they tried to negotiate after the fact.
My experience at Vangergriff Honda of Arlington was very Pleasant..I went in just looking and browsing no intentions of buying that day but this salesperson LaMarkus came out of the building with this huge smile in his face and all i could ask him is ” Why are you smiling as hot as it is today”. He replied, with a smile staing ” im here to help You in anyway possible”. o.k. after abou 3-4 hours of me being confused and LaMarkus being as patient as possible, i finally bought a car..Wow I know he was tired but he was so patient with me as well as his boss..So i would like to say THANKS TO LAMARKUS!!!!!!
Good people to work with price and finacing where great.
Treated great. No pressure. Price and finacing was real good. I would recomend to buy there.
The salesman that I worked with Patrick was very nice, not pushy and answered all my questions that i had. I told him that i didn’t want to buy a car right away and he still took the time to show me the car and didn’t rush me. I ended up buying from him by the end of the night because he was so helpful and nice. The manager was even helpful as well, and the finance person that did the paperwork made it a smooth process. I already recommended my friends and family to come here and buy a Honda.
I came in for a recall on my Honda CRV 2002 headlight.I was well treated and attended to.
Came to Vandergriff to look at several different minivans that they had hoping to find one with low miles. Jimmy Phan went out of his way to help me find the right van! He was professional and though I was indecisive he let me test drive them over and over until I figured out the one I liked the most. He never rushed me or pressured me to purchase the car. If you are looking for good service see Jimmy!
This is my third honda from Vandergriff and i have used their Service department for 15 years and i am always treated like royalty!!! I would (and Have) recommend this dealership to anyone!!!!!
Scumbags ran newspaper ad saying $57 down. After we went there with ad in-hand, they denied having such a program. Thieves, scumbags, liars, rip-offs. DON’T EVER TRUST THEM OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!
This dealer has the worst financial service. The guy who did the finance paper work for me, Yuni Chon, has tried to sell me a MPP plan behind my back. When I figured out I had purchased a scam warranty plan I don’t need, I came back to try to cancel it within 30 days for a full refund. Yuni told me I couldn’t do that because it’s part of my deal. If they don’t sell me the scam warranty plan, I wouldn’t have bought the car at that low price. I was so surprised since if it was a part of my deal, why they don’t tell me about it instead of selling it behind my back? What kind of deal buying car is that? Think about it! If you buy this scam warranty plan, then we reduce the price this much? really? (it’s my right to cancel the warranty btw) and they said if I do cancel the warranty, they increase the sale price for another $800. What a liar! I denied it and said I have the complete right to cancel the warranty anytime I want. Then he was trying to trick me to come back in 90 days to cancel it so my refund will get smaller and his commission will get bigger. Their attitude was rude and unprofessional and full of lies. They even called me after that saying the same shit.
As I discover this website, I’ve seen some very negative feedback from customers about this dealer, please stay away from them. In my part, I will do everything in my power to keep everyone I know from buying from them. And I have a big family here in TX, so it would be a bigger loss for them not being able to do business for my family.
Your so right about this car lot I brought a SUV from them was having a stalling problem the second day I got the SUV and now I still have problems a year later they call there selfves fixing it but not. almost got hit by a disel truck the SUV stop in the middle of the freeway and thank god a police help me.and there express department manger Boy venny Diaz no good tell you one thing and mean another.
Had a work friend that new Ray Jones, took my dad into Vadergriff Honda thinking he would get a good deal. What happened was they tried to scam my dad. The Scam: Jones said he would sell my dad a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L for $27000.00 out the door. When he sat down to fill out the papers, the salesman walked in and said” we made a mistake and forgot to calculate the tax and it will cost $1600.00 more”. Ray Jones is a lyer. He said it was $24222 plus add ons and TTL which was $27000.00 “friend price”. Then came the switch scam. Avoid Vandergriff Honda at all cost. The low price is a BS because they will change the price when they get you in the door and waste six hours of your time!!!! I will never buy a car from any Vandergriff dealer.
$12000.00 UPSIDE DOWN IN 12 MONTHS 8/K MILES ON A USED HONDA WE BOUGHT FROM THEM!!.We purchased a used 06 CR-V 12 months ago from Vandergriff. Since then we have put only 8k additional miles bringing it to a total of 37k miles, in very good condition. We have payed over $3000 in principal and made every paymeny timely, so, given all this we felt we shouuld be in decent shape for a trade in on a larger suv (pilot) as we will soon have a new addition to the family. So we went back to Vandergriff to see about making the deal, we told them what we wanted, that we were willing to increase our payments from $400 (current) to around $500 a month. they showed us a used ’08 Pilot and we liked it well enough. We were insulted when it came to the money dealings!!, they wanted $27,000(well over book) for thier pilot and said we were $12000.00 upside down on ours and would finance in the “negative equity”, which would make for 14.75% interest (we have good credit and our loan is at 8%) and would require $7000 down and more than $700 a month!!. When asked how we could be so upside down after paying so much principal and putting very few miles/no damage to the vehicle we purchased from Vandergriff – used – at a “good deal, especially when you consider the high resale value” according to the same manager last time, THEY SIMPLY REFUSED TO TALK TO US AND ASKED US TO LEAVE!!. THIS IS THE WORST DEALER IN TEXAS, MAYBE THE WORLD, PERIOD.
