My car went to Tom Gill on a Thursday night 2 weeks ago – wouldn’t go up a hill – didn’t move with my 2 younger children in the car (2011 – 14k miles) was the transmission – they said it was a swith that needed replaced . So they do the work i get it back – Doesn’t seem to run right still . One week later to the night I’m driving home in the rain both young kids in car and the car doesn’t seen to want to move or go and their was smoke/steem coming from the front end . I take it back to them and tell them what is going on. They call me with a blown head gasket – they tell me that’s why it wasn’t running righr were glad you got it in here .. we will get it fixed – The following Tuesday they call with Hey its not the head gasket it was a loose hose with a weak clamp – didn’t hurt anything easy fix … Did this happen from what you did the prior week ? Did you really look at the car closely when you had it for the QUIT RUNNING / STUCK ON THE HILL PROBLEM … on my paperwork they gave back to me with notes on it – CUSTOMER STATES CAR SEEMS LIKE LSOING POWER- they write drove car don’t see any issues with power – nothing showing up with codes …. REALLY which one is it .. did on Friday when you called and said it was a blown head but now that is was just a loose hose (easy fix ) it runs fine …. Very upset and does anyone really know anything about working on cars up there … 2 problems in 1 week on a car that you serviced the week before and has only 14k miles –
Bougt a second car for the winter and then bought a easy care extended waranty. when i took the car in to have service done a week later i was informed the warenty should of never been sold for that car and they woul gladley refund my money. well it has been two months and i have not recived my money as of yet and no one there really seems to care. i feel they knew something was wrong with the car and didnt want to fix it and therefore becouse of the expense said the warenty was not valid. i will never buy a car from tom gill again and i will tell all my friends and customers that visit my buisness not to go to tom gill as well. that they have no customer loyality or care and could care less after you walk out the door. this is a poorley run dealership and no one should buy there and go through the headaches tom gill chevrolet gives there “coustomers”
going on three months and still no reseloution… makes you want to go there and buy a car doesnt it….LOL
I am working on my 3rd purchase from Tom Gill. My sales man Mitch has been outstanding with no pressure and outstanding answering my questions or finding out from his manager the answers that I need. He is so kind, always has a smile on his face, and works hard to meet the needs of his customers whether if it is to find the vehicle that the customer desires, or to meet the need of the financing for the vehicle to fit the customers budget! Way to go Mitch! With MUCH Appreciation! Jeff and Jackie
This dealership was great to work with. I did have a light problem with the vehicle not have an option that was agreed on at the time of purchase. They did however rectify the problem and installed a $4500 Dvd Entertainment system for no charge. I really feel that they stepped up when they made an honest mistake. I will definately recommend to buy from Tom Gill.
I bought from Tom Gill because they offered “tires for life” and I use my car for work and travel a lot, so I go through a lot of tires. With tires for life, you have to get ALL the recommended service work done and it must be done ON TIME. I did have all my service done at Gill, I paid big money for regular oil changes, etc. when I could have gone to a quick lube and saved a lot of money… but with the tires offer I went to gill. When I went in for tires, they refused to honor their promise. They told me I went over on an oil change by a couple hundred miles. I was on the road in michigan and could not get the oil change until I returned so I was 233 miles over and they did not say a word at the time. When I went to get tires they told me since I missed an interval that I was not eligible. BUt they would SELL me a set of tires -WHAT A BIG RIP OFF! I no longer go there. I tell everyone I know not to go there.
They are slick. They offer a price match but it only includes dealers who also offer their free car washes and additional warranty policy. In addition the warranty policy is available at very very few dealers so it makes it next to impossible to match the deal but of course they don’t tell you that.
