I purchased a used subaru forrester from this dealer. it was sold to me as a “good winter car! it even has heated seats”. it was summer when i bought it so i didn’t check if the heated seats were working properly. that was a big mistake. they gave me an “implied warranty” on the vehicle and when i realized that the passenger’s side heated seat was not working, i called the dealer and arranged an appointment for service. the car was also missing a seat belt button, by the way.
i went there and i waited. after 4 hours all they could do was realizing that they didn’t have any part that they needed, so i would have to come back for both the heated seat and the button. also, they told me the manager didn’t approve repairing the heated seat because “it’s a 14 year old car”. When i told them that the car was sold to me as having heated seats, the repairman could only tell me “well, one of them is working”. BUT… how nice of them, they agreed to put a new seat belt button! so in the end, out of 610$ worth of repairs, they only covered 10$. Nice of them.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who has complaints about warranty issues with this dealer. Most dealers are sneaky and they will pull this tricks on you, but not *all* of them. If you are reading this list of reviews, you will get the idea that Thomas Auto definitely DOES pull this tricks on you. You should definitely try another dealer, you might be luckier.
I definitely recommend to stay away from this dealer.
