Do NOT buy a car from Stone Mountain Toyota. Car was making sounds within 45 seconds off the lot. Salesman lied about what my contract entailed and made up a fake 30 day policy about being able to bring the car back, that obviously noone at the dealership upheld. He also told me that I could get a full tank of gas and a full car detail for having to drive over 40 miles to the dealership, 4 out of the first 5 days of owning the car, which I never received. I brought my car to the service department 3 times before they figured out what was wrong with the car. After letting the finance director know that I was lied to regarding the gap insurance, he said that my salesman had just been fired for telling the same types of things to several customers, but there was nothing that he could do for me. How typical.
We come from a long line of dependable Toyota vehicles and we’d definitely recommend buying a Toyota vehicle but DO NOT BUY FROM THE STONE MOUNTAIN TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!
Our Tundra was totalled in an accident and we wanted to replace it. We paid the extra premium for a Toyota Certified Vehicle from Stone Mountain Toyota and it turned out to be a most frustrating and disappointing experience, with no consideration for our valuable time to have the vehicle brought up to the standard we thought we were purchasing at the onset.
Even though this preowned, low-mileage, 2006 Toyota Tundra truck was “Toyota Certified”, it came with many deficiencies and problems from a flat tire (the day after purchase) to having the wrong size lug nuts on all wheels, to having to have the driver’s seat belt retractor replaced, to having a windshield stone chip repaired (hidden by oil change sticker at time of purchase), to learning that the box was so beat up that a cheap liner was installed to cover up the damage. We found out that the tire tread on all 4 tires is the barest minimum for legal sale and now we need to replace them at an additional cost of almost $1,000. A cheap no-brand battery was put in the truck and it’s having a hard time since the cold weather came, so this also needs replacement. Even the windshield wipers need to be replaced.
We understand that this 2006 Tundra was a preowned truck and we weren’t expecting perfect but if you read the terms & conditions of what you get with a Toyota Certified Vehicle, Stone Mountain Toyota took advantage of us, taking many liberties and cost-cutting measures to ready the vehicle for market. Of course all of the problems could have been resolved at the onset but all they did was argue about ‘who’ and ‘what’ department was going to pay for the repairs and fixes, with no regard for our valuable time driving back and forth to the dealership and wasting hours in service waiting rooms. It quickly became the story of a small, annoying pebble stuck in your shoe. After most repairs were made, in the end we were told by Stone Mountain Toyota that they would arrange for the exterior paint finish to be repaired but they were not going to guarantee the outcome or the job itself. A little consideration and any customer service would have gone a long way.
The main reason I’m writing this review is because I just saw an advertisement for Stone Mountain Toyota on television, boasting it’s great customer service. Nothing could be further from the truth and if you’re living in the Atlanta area, there are many other good Toyota dealerships that could deservedly benefit from your business.
BUYER’S BEWARE…STAY AWAY FROM THE STONE MOUNTAIN TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!
Please do not waste your time with this dealership. I called before going to make sure the price was as advertised. I drove my family 2 hours in pouring down rain and when we arrived the price magically jumped $1500.00. They had to make some “repairs” to the vehicle. I tried to work with them on several vehicles but it seemed that all vehicles had to have some special “repair” that drove the price of the vehicles up. This is a complete waste of my and your time. 😡
