We were actually looking for a used and ended up with a new. Kristin was absolutely wonderful, she went out of her way, let us use her car while our new car was being customized. I have bought many cars in my time but this was a great experience, no pressure and well respected would definitely buy from this young lady again
purchased new F-150 and have written in the sales agreement of refund of $1100.00 and stated they would send check. Waited 3 weeks and Solomon Ford refusing to pay.
I have had a horrible experience with Solomon Ford Dealership in Brownsville, PA. I was interested in purchasing a brand new vehicle and the sales manager was completely unreasonable when it came to breaking my purchase price down to the monthly payment. They refuse to look at my partnership plan through my place of employment. The sales consultant was honestly trying to make the sale but his manager kept interrupting our conversation telling me to “not to worry with the numbers because they will look big on paper”. He acted like we were stupid when my fiancé and I both have degrees in business. The sales manager only wanted to talk numbers in the sales parking lot and not on paper. We went home empty handed and inquired for them to send us a break down. The sales manager called us with a new monthly payment and wanted us to agree to it without showing us anything. He said here’s your break down; give me X dollars and your trade in and your monthly payment will be X dollars. I said that’s all fine and well but I’m not going to agree with anything until I see it broken down and I’m not giving you a free vehicle. He gave me 45 minutes to call back and agree with the new monthly payment or the offer was over or I could give him some money to hold the offer until Monday. I said “Don’t worry about it because we are done here!” He then proceeded to tell me to never step foot on his lot again! Is this how you treat your customer? I just wanted information on where this payment was coming from and he refused. I expected this type of behavior from a used car lot but not a Ford Dealership! After this experience, I don’t believe we will buy Ford. I would rather deal with Dodge or Chevy.
Bruce was very rude to my husband and I. He is not cut out for his job, not professional!! This is a family business that needs a family therapist! They were yelling at one another in front of us, I would not go back!
Not professional! We had $5,000 in cash to put down with good credit the day we went in(they didn’t know) They wanted to check our credit before we even test drove the car which is wierd. The sells person and the owner were very rude! I guess they didn’t think we had the money but still you should never speak in a way that your coustmers feel uncomfortable. We were planning on spending $26,000 on a car but I wouldn’t give that business $1 because of the unprofessionlism.
My wife and I purchased a 2012 Ford Escape in January 2012 and went back in February 2012 to buy a 2010 Ford Focus. When we went to but the Focus we went to the same saleperson who sold us the Escape and he had no clue who we were. Everything was going well with both cars until I took the Focus in for a oil change. I told them my tire were making a noise. The told me that the tires were bad. I told the i would like fo rthem ot replace them for free since i only put 5000 miles on the car and they told me no way. I called Ford and they were of very little help. The people in the service department were rude. I am still trying to resolve this with them but they do not care about their customers. When you buy a certified used car you would expect to get more than 5000 mile out of a set of tires. I took my car to a tire shop and they did a alignment check and they said the car was way out of spec. and there is no way the dealership checked this. They also said the tire should not go bad after 5000 miles if the dealer would have check everything properly.
We found a vehicle we liked online for an attractive price, so we drove about 40 mins to buy it. The salesman was fine — not bad, not great, though he sure as hell wanted to sell us rustproofing. The finance director aggressively (to the point of being a dick) pushed extended warranties at us, but after we got past that, he was OK. That’s all to be expected.
What isn’t to be expected is that months after I bought my vehicle, the dealership is trying to get me to pay an additional $500. During the sale, the salesman told me he wanted to see if I qualified for any Ford rebates, so he asked a series of questions, and I answered fully and honestly. He then disappeared behind closed doors for nearly half an hour and returned to tell me I qualified for a college discount because my job requires me to take continuing education credits. This decision was based on actual college enrollment paperwork that I printed from a dealership computer, not on my word.
Ford has since rejected the rebate. Now Solomon’s “legal department” (AKA someone with the last name of Solomon but not with an “Esq.” after that name … so, essentially, he’s a car salesman trying to sound all lawyerly) has sent a letter threatening a civil suit if we don’t pay the $500 and $30 tax. They claim I advised the dealership I was eligible for the rebate even though I did not ask about the rebate nor expect to receive it. And I certainly wasn’t the person the salesman got the rebate approval from behind closed doors.
Someone from the dealership left a voicemail saying that not paying this would affect my credit rating — that’s a claim that the “legal department” at least had the sense not to repeat in the letter because the sales agreement has no provision that states the buyer is responsible for making up any rebate rejected by Ford. No addendum was marked on the sales agreement that I was to provide any additional information or that I’d pick up the tab if Ford rejected any rebate claims.
The dealership screwed up and is trying to squeeze me to pay for its mistake. The advertised internet price was a pretty good deal, but the dealership apparently tries to make up for that by aggressively pushing extended warranties and intimidating buyers into paying money they are not obligated to pay. Buyer beware.
We live an hour and a half from the dealership. We went up late on a Friday afternoon to just look at a vehicle we saw online. The sales people could not be bothered with us because it was almost closing time. We went back the next day to test drive the vehicle. Before we got in it we have the salesperson our information. I had done my homework and knew what our vehicle was worth and what we could finance. He told us there was no way we could afford the car. We said ok and we were getting ready to leave because we knew it wast true and would just rather take our business elsewhere. He eventually came back and said he could get our payments within $5 of what we wantEd. We test drove the vehicle and liked it but just wanted a day to think about. The owner’s son comes out with a huge wad of snuff in his mouth practically dripping down his chin and asks if we are going to take it now. We told him we wanted to think about it. We called the salesman the next day to confirm we wanted it. He called the following day to get all of our information so when we did go to pick it up everything would be ready. We drove an hour and a half that evening. They knew we were coming. We waited 30 minutes for them to tell us they did not have the title to the vehicle and we could not take it but we could go ahead and sign everything. Nothing was ready for us to sign, things were misprinted and misspelled. So 2 hours later we leave again with no vehicle. My husband went and got the car 5 days later. That night we notices our certified vehicle was making a grinding noise. We took it to a local dealership and was informed there was a service bulletin for a transmission overhaul on this vehicle. When I called Solomon’s I received no apologies…only…”it’s a used car, what do you exleft?” they did offer to fix it but we will never step foot in there again!!!! Horrible experience!!!
I have bought a lot of vehicles in my day. Buying from Solomon Ford has been my most pleasureable of them all. As soon as I walked into the dealership I was greeted with a friendly smile and hello. My sales person, Mike Martinez, was very knowledgeable and concerned of my needs. The had a large selection of Fusions on the lot. It was nice to see different colors and packages all at one place. I picked out a beautiful black Fusion. I then went in the finance office to finish the paper work on my purchase. Being a women, so dealerships I have gone to try and take advantage of me because I am a women. Not at Solomon, I was treated more like a friend than a customer. I would reccomend to everyone to purchase from Solomon. It was a fantastic buying experience. I will defiently buy from Solomon again. :):):)
Funny how all of the glowing reviews were submitted on the same date, isn’t it? I guess Dec. 21, 2009, was a slow day at the dealership and the salesmen decided to kill some time on the Internet.
Was just a really fun atmophere. Could not have picked a better place to buy. Left there fealing like family. My next vehicle will be a solomon Vehicle.
1st vehicle ever purchased. Never knew it could be this easy. Would recommend dealership and my salesperson to everyone I know. Great!!!!!!!!

This dealership pressures you to spend more than you can reasonably afford. We selected an $8000 vehicle rather than a $19,000 vehicle and were made to feel like we were terrible people. The owner himself told my husband that as soon as the truck is driven off the lot that any problems are our problem not the dealership. The owner, Norman Solomon didn’t utilize the kindness, or politeness that I’ve shown here. It so happens that the next day the truck has problems with the air conditioning. Now, one week later the air conditioning doesn’t work at all. Because of the way my husband was treated during the sale he is hesitant to even call them to ask for service. I will post again after the call is made.
