Attila was perfect, no pressure at all, very helpful and extremely nice. I love my car and he helped me find it!
I purchased a 2012 KIA Rio from Attila Szabo after test-driving several models of small sedans. (I had to replace a 2003 Mini Cooper.) My daughter and I went in to test drive the Forte but as Attila listened to us talk about what I had been driving and my specific needs (including getting 92 year old grandma into and out of car), he suggested we also try the Rio. He really knew all the ins and outs of the cars from the safety features to the options (trust me from some other test drives, that’s not always the case) and shared his knowledge in a friendly, non-pushy matter. I had not researched the Rio but when I did, I knew it was the car I wanted and Shortline made it easy the next day.
Bad news from the minute I walked in the door. Scott didn’t listen to a word I said about what I needed. Didn’t tell me the car I decide to buy was from a rental fleet. Finance rate was sky high; gap insurance they said was $4 a month ended up being $400; they snuck a service contract for $2500 into the price.
After purchase I asked for the 150 point inspection report and when would they send the paperwork to the DMV so I could get plates. They sent me the inspection report for some other car. After many emails Scott told me I had to call their finance department to find out why they hadn’t sent paperwork to DMV.
It’s been 3 and half months since I bought the car and I still don’t have the inspection report (did they even do an inspection?), I’m on my way to pay for a second extension on my temporary plates. I told Scott after all the money they made by lying and cheating me, that HE needed to call finance and find out why it hadn’t been submitted.
I also asked about the service contract they snuck into the financing – no contract, no company name, nothing. Who the heck am I supposed to contact if I need repairs to the car.
Every single thing about the deal has been lies, the after purchase customer service has been absolutely horrible, non existent. I wonder what kind of reaction I’m going to get when I tell them they owe me the money I had to spend to get TWO extensions for my temporary plates.
I would definitely NOT recommend this Kia dealership to anyone.
It has been roughly six months since i purchased my car here at shortline kia and i am stil happy with the costumer service that the dealership still provides. I always do my best to get my vehicle matained at the shortline kia dealership. Also I would like to thank Mr. Attila for his special care in dealing with all my car needs.
Attila and Delia were wonderfull, got us a nice brand new kia sorento and we are very happy with the service we got! Will recomend them to our friends no question! Thank you for the good work
If you are a new buyer I am begging you not to visit this dealer. We bought a car from them a year ago w/o realizing that they overcharged us.Delia, is an expert in taking advantage of those buyers who dont have any experience in this business.I swear I would never go back to Shortline!
I purchased my 2nd Kia from Shortline. I got a used 07 Rondo with very low mileage. I was led to believe that the car had only had 1 previous owner and was not told that it had be in an accident previously. Well here I am 3 years later and I am getting ready to purchase another car….so I go back to Shortline to consider getting a 3rd Kia. So it was a great surprise to me when they did not want to offer my very much for my trade because I am the 3rd owner and it has been in a wreck in 9/07. This information was withheld from me from the very dealership that I purchased the car from 3 years ago but now are holding it against me when I am ready to trade my car back in. Needless to say, Shortline will not get my business in the future because of their lack of honesty.
We highly recommend Shortline Kia and Sales Consultant Jeremy Ledeboer. He was honest, courteous, and very willing to help and answer any and all questions we had. Jeremy provided us with the best car buying experience ever. If you are looking for a new vehicle, check them out! 🙂
We HIGHLY recommend this dealership. For some reason it is showing we do not … this is wrong. WE DO RECOMMEND this dealership and Jeremy is great.
Wanted to buy a new Subaru for my husband. We have excellent credit, were ready to buy and had been quoted a good price by the internet Manager, Paul Solko. When we went to see the cars, we realized that they pinstriped ALL of their cars. We asked if we could get a car without the pinstripes. NO PROBLEM, we will have more cars being delivered on Monday, he said. Because my husband was leaving town, we signed the contract without even taking a car home. Before leaving the dealership, I saw that the financing paperwork was wrong and the cost was $1500 more than we should have paid. They apologized and re-did the contract. Then I noticed that they had over-charged us on the tax rate. They gave us an IOU for the $95 difference. On Monday, I picked up the car and drove it home and put it in the garage. On Tuesday, I pulled the car out and saw a ripple in the front quarter panel which had been painted over. I immediately took the car back to Shortline. The Manager said that he would replace the car with another car on his lot and take the pinstripes off with solvent. Not a good idea to put solvent on ANY painted surface. I rejected their offer. On Wednesday, I went back and they had acquired a different car from a completely different dealership. Apologies all around and my contract was replaced and FedExed to my husband for signing. Not once did they offer us any discount, car accessory, dinner on them for our trouble – nothing. But they begged us to give them a good review with Subaru USA when we got our survey. It was just a COMPLETE hassle on my part and I believe that they intentionally tried to overcharge us for the car and tax and they also gave us a defective car – one that had been inspected and rejected before pinstriping and was probably on it’s way back to Indiana. We have not felt this much dishonesty in our lives. It was a circus. If I could have rescinded the deal, we would have. Watch out for these guys.
We just bought our first new car at Shortline Kia and we are very happy with our new car! Of course Attila and Delia were the sales people that made this so easy and wonderfull! Thank you again for helping me with the new car! I will recomend them to everyone!
They wouldn’t discuss specifics over the phone. I got there and the salesperson could not drive stick and said she did not have a license, I think, although English was a second language and Russian I think the first(which made it hard to relate and wonder “why would you hire this person who has no common ground with Americans and doesn’t speak English well to sell cars to Americans” Then they handed me off to another Russian who told me that the Kia Spectra was the best selling small car in America last year. I took this with a grain of salt but found out it’s not in the top ten and certainly doesn’t beat Civics and Corollas. Then I was told that anti-lock brakes are a luxury and not necessary except for large cars. I live at 10000 ft in the rockies with snow and ice and you definately need them.
Then I was sent a survey asking my opinion on the service and I said exactly what I said here and then I started recieving emails from the General manager saying that I was lying and that I need to keep my opions to myself. Why did you give out surveys if you don’t want the truth to improve your business? I just wanted a car for a good price. These people are completely incompetent and after the managers email I will never buy a car from KIA or Hyundai.
This dealership is all talk. The promised me that they could finance me for a used SUV, which is what I wanted. They tried to tell me that I could qualify for a new car, which was much too small for my family and I. They would not listen. I had four people try to convence me to buy a new car. When i walked out they told me that they could get me into a used car but not the one i wanted, which they said they sold that morning within the three hours that we were there (I doubt it). Do not go to the dealer unless you want to be treated like trash.
