Today my husband and I went to Russ first, looking for an SUV. We had never drove a Tahoe or Yukon and we wanted more info on them. The salesman came over to us and was not very inviting. We walked around a few cars – all of which he would not open – then he asked us “are you going to buy anything today?” We told him we weren’t planning on buying anything today, but needed to test drive a few vehicles before committing. He then proceeded to tell us that he could not help us and he started to walk away. We were speechless and have never been treated that way before. We asked him again, and he said he needed to focus on other customers that were a better lead. I’m writing this after coming home with a brand new 09 Yukon that we bought at Auto Town in Milwaukee. They treated us with respect and in-turn we gave them our business and now have a great vehicle. I would stay away from Russ, as they “select” who they want to work with. Everyone from the sales manager to the lousy salesman and the run down, small lot should tell you to turn and go somewhere else.
I found this post while searching online. I am a salesman for Russ Chevrolet for the last 2 months. My personal opinion on how our guests are treated here, differ vastly from yours, however I cannot speak for previous salesman that were employed here before I.
I can tell you that your experience was an isolated one, and that we do not conduct business in such a horrible manner. We treat every guest at our business with the up most respect, and take pride in our service oriented sales. All of our staff members (with the exception of me, as I am still learning the ins and outs of all our cars) are extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and very helpful. I personally come from a hospitality background, and would never allow a guest to be treated as someone not worthy of my time. Every person that comes in is a customer, you may not be one today, but you were one in the past, or you very well could be in the future. Our goal is not to sell you just a car that is on our lot, but for you to become a long term loyal customer for life. All of our cars are unlocked for the customers convenience, and as a salesperson it would be unprofitable in a 100 different ways to refuse you a test drive.
With that said, I invite you to give us a try. Since you have a beautiful new vehicle, and you are once again not ready to purchase, come in and see how the experience differs. I promise you, everything you experienced that day, would simply not exist today. I sincerely apologize that you experienced such horrible service and hope we have a chance to prove to you that this salesman, and that experience does not exist here any longer.
