Rick told me that my deposit was fully refundable. When I ended up not buying the car, the Sales Manager charged the $500 to my credit card. I am now dealing with this dispute with my credit card company.
Once I had a dispute on this, they would not return my calls. They are not customer friendly…or honest!
We bought recently our new 2012 Subaru Forester and 2012 Subaru Legacy from the Roto Subaru Mazda dealership located at 1555 E Rand Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
We would like to acknowledge an excellent quality of services we experienced from entire dealership staff during our purchase. We would like to especially recognize the efforts, help and assistance we received from the following dealership people:
* Fleet/Leasing Manager Joseph McAvoy
* Service Director Kim Ceas
* Sales Manager George Koselke
* Business Manager Scott Sims
We will definitely recommend this store to all our friends, coworkers and relatives, and we are asking Subaru’s Headquarters management to accept this letter as our recommendation to their customers as well.
Respectfully,
Nella and Grigoriy Nisimov.
They tried to sell us a car for $4000 over the new sale price. The sale price was listed in a newspaper ad but not anywhere on the car. They negotiated for some time, down $2000 then another $2000,until we were offered a “great deal” of the real sale price. After many phone calls they promised to reverse the deal. When we returned the car, we lost about $3500 on the deal. Do not trust this dealer, get everything in writing! We dealt with several Roto employees. I feel they were all less than honest.
I have purchased four cars from Roto and have always been treated with honesty and fairness. Joe is not only the best car salesman I’ve met, he is one of the best salesmen period. He respects his customers and he is loyar to his dealership. He is truly a wonderful young man. The service people are equally good. One young man, Jimmy, is right on with his care and concern for customer needs.
Roto Subaru Mazda provides excellent service. The service technicians are experienced and do very good work.
Questions are answered thoroughly and work is completed in a timely manner.
Very nice experience. Everyone you run into is very friendly. They keep thing movin’. Very Friendly. and you can’t beat an oil change with semi-synthetic for $15.95!
For Sales and Service, Roto is the only dealership for me. Have purchased 5 cars there in 10 years. Joe McAvoy in Fleet Sales and Kim Ceas and her Service team are the best. Always a pleasant experience and the technicians are outstanding.
Before you buy a car from Roto Subaru Mazda, PLEASE READ THIS.
I bought a 3 year old, used car from these people. The salesman was Ryan Powles. When I spoke to him on the phone, I made it very clear I did not want a car that was damaged or repainted. I also sent this concern to him in writing. I bought the car and picked it up while it was raining which made a close examination difficult. At the closing, I again mentioned my concern about buying a late model car that had any paint work. He never answered my concern directly and, foolish me, I trusted him. Well, guess what, two days later a professional detailer told me the rear doors were repainted. I immediately called the salesman. I asked him to read back my email that specifically mentioned the repaint concern. He did. He said he didn’t know about any bodywork done to the car. When I asked if he checked with anyone at the dealership about my concern his answer was no. I was then transferred to the sales manager. He said there was nothing he could/would do and that his salesman didn’t say the car wasn’t repainted. Now that’s a reponse you’d expect from a defiant teenager not a professional in a highly competitive business where service follow up is important. I asked him if he would take the car back if I would pay all the fees they incurred, mileage and gas, making them whole. His immediate response was no. Shame on me for not reading the negative comments posted here and elsewhere about this dealership ahead of time. They are awful. I am sending my experience to the IL attorney general, consumer fraud division. Anyone else who has this kind of experience should do the same. It’s hard to believe that in an industry where customer service and dealer reputation are so important, they appear to encourage the negative antics of the ‘used car salesman.’
I had a seamless purchasing experience. This is my fourth Mazda so there were no quality issues. The dealership was very professional right from the start all the way thru delivery. Service has been excellent.
Honest salesperson and good service from service department. I have had 2 interactions so far and am pleased with the service I received.
I’m on my 2nd vehicle from Roto and very happy with the dealership and service. Roto worked very well with me on a leaky sun roof and was helpful at every point of the process. In addition service has always been honest and a pleasure. Anthony and his crew is enjoyable to work with.
I checked out 4 dealers on the internet first. Roto was the closest so I went over to the dealership to drive the car model I wanted, Joe M.was very helpful and not pushy. we discussed price and my trade. Price with trade was good but I always will check 2 or 3 dealers pricing for actual cost with trade-in. I went to 3 dealers in the area and Roto gave me the best cost with trade-in on the exact car I was looking to buy. They did not have my color in stock but said I could have that car in a day. I went in and picked up the car the day after. Gave them my old car and a check, drove away in my new car. No high pressure and no shenanigans with the finance guy which has happened to me before, I walk when that happens.
DO NOT PUT GIVE A DEPOSIT! Read their contract – it’s NON-REFUNDABLE even when they imply or tell you otherwise. The GM said they don’t care about CUSTOMER SERVICE, HE SAID “go ahead and sue us” we don’t care about customer service.
DON’T GO THERE, buy your vehicle somewhere else where you get a better pricing and people are real and don’t lie to you.
This is no exaggeration. My daughter bought a used car from this dealer. They tried to sell her a car for $4000 over their advertised sale price. By the time they dropped the price $4000 she thought she had made a good negotiated deal. When questioned about the deceptive sales practice, the sales manager “..sue us. Go ahead and file with the Attorney General”
Went in to look at a 2010 Ford Mustang Convertiable which i was under the impression had 14K and end up having 16K and some change, the car looked great but i could tell off the bat that something was wrong with the paint job from the hood and the read bumpers, but i decided to go with it and see what was going to happen. The car was listed for $19,995 so the first thing i asked the salesman was about the history of the car; was it a demo? “No”, was it a rental car? “No it was not a rental car” i pretty much never got an answer to how the car ended up on their showroom floor. I checked the rag top and it seemed to be in okay shape and the inside of the car was fantasic “Looking”, next i asked to take the car for a test drive and as the salesman attempted to start the car, it would NOT start. Inside I was laughing as other salemen came running up to the car with a hand held battery charger. I know i should of just left at that time, but i decided to take things a little further and see what would happen. With the help of the charger, the mustang cranked with no problems and kept it’s idle for the remainer of the test drive. Over all i was happy with the test drive, but following the car not starting the way a car SHOULD start, and listening to the salesman’s excuse that the car was left overnight on the show room floor just made my inside chuckle even more. Once back from the test drive, i decided it was time to walk away, but something deep down inside said to make an offer and see what the salesman does. I made an offer of $17,000 flat and as expected listened to not only the salesman, but also his suppervisors rant on about how they had bought the car for the same price they are selling it for. Are you for real? No profit? Yeah right! I once again asked for the history of the car infront of the superivisor and ended up waiting inside Mr. Gary’s office while the report finished printing out for my view. What a pleasure it was when the salesman returned with the history report showing that not only was the car previously listed as a RENTAL car, but that it was also in a wreck in which damage was reported at the rear center of the car! My chucking grew stronger inside as i held on to the report and quickly left the dealership. I also found it very funny that the car was bought through an auction by the dealer! So you tell me they bought the car for the same price they are selling the car? HA HA HA. Mr. Gary, good luck finding a “Kid” (Yes i overheard the other salesman call me that) who is willing to spend his money for a previously wrecked car by very trust worthy people as your self. I am sure that you will sell the car, but i just wanted to also insure that others who might consider purchasing a car from your dealership are aware of who they are DEALing with once they step inside. Thank you for a wonderful chuckle this afternoon which i spent alot of when i was driving back home. I pray that the person who purchases the car is at least told the truth before making that big mistake…oh waiting, maybe they will….if they investigate a little more here right? Have a lucky St. Pats- Mr. Chuckles
Nice! Big thaks to Mr. Weinberg over at Gurnee Ford here in IL who just sold me a 2011 mustang! Very good service and it is nice to know that real truthfull dealers are on this earth. Good price and no wrecks! Best to go new! Thanks!
I had to stop at Roto lincoln mercury because of an unusual noise in the front end of my vehicle. They replaced a worn out tie rod end wich was ready to brake, gave me such a deal on a set of tires that i could not pass up and included a front end alignment. my repair took 2 hours and it was much less then firestone quoted weeks earlier.
thank you Mr Roto , I will be back for service and future car purchases
I like the price and the deal, however i am extremely ( to say the least) unhappy with the attitude and treatment by the Used car manager. Rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. As far as new sales; Do not trust a word they say unless in writing!!!! Will look you in the eye and make a promise that will never be delivered! I have made 2 car purchases at Roto in 6 years( one used, one new). And i do not thing there will be a 3rd. I no longer trust them or respect them. Perhaps other dealers are the same , but at this point for the money i pay you better be more polite. Overall sales EXPERIENCE NEGATIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!
After someone backed into my parked car, I went back to Roto Mazda where I had initially bought my car. The 2-3 day repair turned into the worst experience I could have ever had with Roto.
Each repair or service prior to this incident always took way longer than I had experienced with other dealers, but I figured I’d deal with the time for quality service. Boy was I wrong! During one of the oil changes, they dented my car and said they would fix it. What better time for them to fix it then when I was getting the other repair done.
The simple repair turned into a two week ordeal. They had “fixed” my car (’09 Mazda 6). I had to call to check on it and they told me it was ready. I drove all the way there to find that they had not even got my parts in! I left it there so they could finish it up while.
Next time I came to get it, my wheel still had yet to come in, but they said I could take the car while it came in. They pulled up my car and what do I see?…Scratch all over the side they had “fixed”. All along the rear door panel and back were ingrained scratches. The manager said he didn’t remember those being there before, and I promptly told them to fix it and was given another rental car from Enterprise to use.
I came back after the weekend where they had fixed the vehicle, and the body-shop manager pulled the car out and said “Looking perfect isn’t it”…and I looked and this time scratches all along the passenger side of the car!!! Like last time, the manager knew it somehow came from their shop, but was not apologetic at all. Instead, they made me grab another rental and said it would be done the next day.
Of course come end-of-business the next day, I have to call them in order to get a status report, and they tell me it’s all set. I came in to grab it and they send their porter to go get the totally wrong car. I told them that wasn’t my key on the tag number, and they found the right one and pulled it up.
Yet again, I found a small scratch along the door, but all I wanted was my car back. I took the car and talked to the manager for compensation. He said he would have to talk to body shop manager who was off that day and that he would call me Monday.
Monday comes along, and I have to call them. He says he talked to the body shop and there’s nothing he could do because they fixed it. I ask for something…anything because they kept my car for two weeks, scratched the heck out of it, wasted my gas driving back and forth. The manager Dominick, said they had fixed everything and there was nothing he was going to do and then he proceeded to hang up the phone on me!!!!
All in all…I cannot believe the horid service (where they continue to mess up your vehicle) and the 180-degree attitude change of the managers and service folk from before you buy a car to after you buy a car. After they got you, they don’t care anymore about common customer decency and quality of service. Stay Away!
sounds as if you tried to get your car painted for free.
