Be very careful about buying from this dealer. I bought a used Infiniti QX56 from them that happened to be the owners car. I saw it listed on Auto Trader, but no price. I called and got a sales guy and they said that they didn’t know the price, but would have to get back to me. A day later, no return call. I called back the next day and got a different sales person, said he would check and give me a call within the hour as I expressed some frustration with the previous person not responding to me. Didn’t get a return call from that sales guy either. I then called and asked for a sales manager and got Jim. Jim was responsive which helped return my faith in the dealership.
As I live in Colorado, I asked Jim for as many pictures inside and out as possible and be my eyes and ears. It is a 2012 and had a few more miles than I wanted, but it looked good overall. He sent me a lot of detailed pictures with small imperfections on the interior and pictures of the exterior, but not anything too close and a video walk around, but again from a little bit of distance. We agreed on a price, bought it and arranged to have a company pick it up and transport it to Colorado.
I was out of town when the car arrived. The driver told my wife about the front bumper and many areas where the clear coat was peeling off. She noticed it right away and it actually getting close to dusk. She called me with some pictures that were very concerning.
I called the the dealer and was told that the damage (clear coat peeling) was from the owner before the owner of Riverside Autoplex bought the car. I told him that I didn’t care where the damage came from as I was most concerned that this wasn’t brought to my attention. How can they send me a smudge on the leather on the door, but miss a clearly damaged bumper.
I took it to 3 different auto body places in the Denver area at their request and found a repair shop that they were comfortable with. When it was time to get agreement on getting this fixed, they agreed to pay $250 of a $1,200 repair. Had I known about the bumper needing to be replaced, I wouldn’t have bought this vehicle, or at least would have accounted for the repair cost in my offer price.
I have reached out to the owner of the dealership, Randy Anderson, 4 times and have never received a response. Jim the sales manager has at least responded to me, but in the end Randy is the guy who has to do the right thing.
This was clearly an attempt to sell this vehicle and hide the fact that it had this damage and then let someone from out of state try and deal with it afterward. Had they done the right thing and paid for the repair, I still wouldn’t have been totally satisfied with this transaction, but I wouldn’t be writing this review.
Please use caution when buying from them as they clearly are not interested in ensuring that the customer knows all the facts about the cars and when there is an issue, they don’t care.
