HISTORY OF 2019 ZR1 CORVETTE BUYING EXPERIENCE. 19 APR 2019
BELOW LETTER SEND 12/17/2018 to B Schneider GM priority cheverlot (Nothing heard back from him personally).
Good morning Sir, So very sorry to have to bother you but my wife and I need your help. We went on line with your website and asked about the new ZR1 corvette back in early Oct. We got a call back and set a meeting with Anthony Stanley and Mickey Yerigan to discuss the car 10 OCT. We ended up ordering a car due in Dec or Jan according to Mickey. We ordered wakins glen grey and all ash grey interior and put down a $2000.00 deposit. I got an email a couple weeks later with the order form attached. I opened it and to my surprise it said shadow grey instead. I called Anthony and asked what happened. He stated the factory changed the color as wakins glen was no longer available. I explained that if that kinda thing happens I expect a phone call and communications as the color of my car is very important to us. Anthony understood and explained most people just like email and no calls. We agreed to communicate better via phone etc. Anthony still couldn’t confirm the interior will be like we wanted and stated he is 99% sure it will be right. We also went back and forth with the badging as I wasn’t sure of what I was talking about until I asked some friends from our corvette club. Anthony helped us change to what we wanted. My wife has called Mickey now 3 different times and left msg’s each time on the phone recorder. The last time she talked to a sales manager (John) who said he would leave a hand written note for Mickey. Still to this day no return calls for our questions etc. dates called was nov 6th msg left, dec 10th msg left, and lastly was dec 13th with the other sales manager. I don’t want to be mean but just want to communicate and ensure we understand what is going on and your team understands our wishes. Not sure what is wrong or going on with Communications right now. Thank you very much for any help you can provide. Have a great holiday Sir,, v/r James & Renee Dannels US Navy ret CDR hm= 757-204-4583 my cel 757-234-1775 wife cel 757-639-5696
-Mickey sent an email and text 12/17/018 sent copy of corrected order and a pic of the interior to confirm ash grey color etc. He also stated Anthony no longer was our sale person and that Brandon Schneider was just assigned. Not sure what happened to Anthony until mar 2019 when we were told he left priority. This explained our lack on communications with our salesman but not why Mickey never called back. We talked to Brandon on the phone and aprox every 2 weeks from then until we got the car.
-Got text from Brandon 24 Jan stating Mickey said no cold air intake for the car from the factory cancelled on our order. Told them OK I would get one after we get the car from dealer.
-Got voice mail from Brandon 11 feb stating expect car build week of 4 mar with arrival 1st week of april.
-Text Brandon 4 mar and asked if he heard anything, he asked Mickey who said it was on the assy line. Asked what the build date was and they didn’t know. Later 1 apr 2019 the Parts guy Michael Mayne looked it up for us and it was 6 mar 2019.
-My wife got a call 11 mar 2019 stating car was on truck should be there that night, Mickey got an email late. Brandon talked to my wife during the week as car hadn’t shown up. I flew in 15 mar early am from work and we called about car at 0930. Mickey stated car came in yesterday yet we got no call. We stopped by to see car as I had asked car to remain wrapped and if we weren’t there to see unloaded could they video or take pics. Mickey had a few pics but no video. We went and seen the car and to my surprise the car had grease all over the drivers door leather and a greasy boot print on the carpet tunnel. I discussed with Jim the delivery and stated if they could get it ready I would pick up Sat 16th. Asked Mickey for a time he stated 1000. Also told him about the grease foot print he stated that customers normally don’t see a car when wrapped. Not sure what that meant IE is it normal for cars to be like that New?? Lastly I asked Mickey for a one on one talk concerning the communications problems etc we had. I told him I would rather do that then leave neg feedback. He seemed to ignore me.
-Got a call from Mickey referring to me as a young man (took it has condescending) the afternoon of 15 mar stating the carbon fiber wing, frt spoiler, and side faring’s had damage. Sent us pics stated they would contact chevy and try to get new parts.
-28 mar I called Brandon to ask what the status was. He had no updates and hadn’t heard anything from Mickey on parts etc. I told him I would like a meeting with his dad concerning my experience as I didn’t want to leave negative feedback but rather work it out. He said that could be arranged. Then on 29 mar Mickey stated we could get the car as it was ready he asked if I wanted it washed or wiped down. I said wiped down. We showed up and talked to Jim about delivery. He was great to talk to and a stand up guy. Jim did the PDI and was very knowledgeable and nice.
-Brandon was great and really tried, (note this was the first time ever we met him face to face), we were surprised to see the greasy foot print still in the car and the fact that it was dirty. Come to find out it never went to Larry for detail. Mickey played a game and said I only wanted it wiped down. Very sorry move. Felt bad for Brandon has he was left in the dark on so many things. I did the onstar hook up etc myself at my house the next day 1 apr.
-Brandon told us the $2000 voucher from Chevy due the broken parts would be ready for sat etc. We tried to call him Monday and Mickey to no avail. We went to the dealership and found Mickey there. Mickey stated the voucher wasn’t ready and that I would receive an email sometime in the future. He directed us to parts to order anything in advance. I asked why he didn’t answer his phone or text, he stated he was on his day off only in for a few things.. still haven’t received the email for the voucher, and never did. Come to find out the dealership parts had it and one was sent in the mail to us.
-Tried to call Mickey and Brandon 6 apr and again 7 apr and left msg’s on Brandon voice mail. Mickey voice mail is full. Emailed the general manager early 0830 8 apr asking for return call and one on one meeting to discuss car buying experience with dealership.. to date no return calls, msg’s emails or anything. Trying to find out status of voucher Mickey talked about???
-Received letter concerning voucher in the mail late 8 apr via USPS. Still nothing from dealership. Called GM rep and opened a case #9-516 767 459 waiting for senior advisor to contact us. 1-800-222-1020.
-Picked up parts 9 apr 1300 still nothing from salesman, sales manager or general manager. Gm called said they are going to hold an internal with dealership and close out my case.. 1500 9 apr
-Bottom line is communications with Mickey as we had to send an email to the General Manager just to find out about our first salesman and why Mickey couldn’t return called etc for a month. Felt bad for Brandon has he was left in the dark like we were by Mickey. Only way we have to tell our story is this as we asked to talk to Mickey about problems and the General Manager but weren’t afforded the opportunity. So sorry to have to leave neg feedback, we bought a new z71 4×4 extend cab truck there years back and had an excellent experience. Mickey needed to just be straight and tell the facts. He didn’t even say congrads on the purchase or thanks etc.. He made the experience uncomfortable for no reason. SAD

PS A special shout out to Raymond (service advisor) and the corvette mech who have been taking care of us and my wife’s 2017 grand sport collector edition. They are excellent at the jobs and great to work with. The parts dept Mr. Mayne has been very helpful and is a wealth of knowledge. Hat off to Jim who prepped the car and answered many questions. The finance guy was also very nice and professional.
