I .was very pleased with the quick response that I got via email and that Sam immediately contacted me and brought the vehicle to my place of employment so that I could look at It.I have found a new home to be purchasing my vehicles and I’m very pleased with Sam And Wayne’s professionalism they are top notch!
Don’t purchase from this place, if you care about getting a good car and having a relationship with a good dealership, this is so NOT the place.
They have ripped me off and lied to me from day one, and unfortunately I didn’t learn that until it was too late, but if I can stop other from making the same mistake I did, then I will.
I see others have had either similar negative experiences or really good ones, seems that there is no happy medium with this company. I guess the ones who had the “good” experiences, that is if they’re not employees, or friends/family of employees, were the lucky ones. Or maybe just the right ethnicity.
We take all customer feedback very seriously as we have been a family owned and operated business since 1961. We would like to help in any way possible, but have no record of you as our customer and urge you to call us if you can give us details of your specific experience. If in the case these comments are in regard to an occurrence with a customer from last week, please understand the dealership is aware of the issue and has handled it. Thank you.
All I’m going to say if you want to buy a car go elsewhere. This dealership is shady, corrupt, & unprofessional. A friend of mine went there to get a new vehicle and trade in her old one and they were incompetent and unorganised for the entire process, in my opinion they should be blacklisted.
They approved her finances based off of her LES (pay stub) sold her a car, transferred the plates from her old one, the trade-in, to her new one for her, registered her OnStar account, put gas in it for her, and a month after her having it, and believing it belonged to her, try to tell her the vehicle is not hers.
That her Bill of Sale and contract means absolutely nothing, and if that’s not enough, they threaten her with jail time for “stealing” a vehicle she has all the necessary paperwork for.
Then when she, mistakenly, trusts them and goes to speak with them, they underhandedly take the plates off of her new vehicle and placed them on the car they had accepted as a trade-in.
If that wasn’t enough, they were very rude & condescending towards her, treating her as if her rank was permission for them to speak down to her. Some has-been, retired 1SG, Kelly J. Butler, who cannot grasp the fact he’s no longer in the military, and who could blame him considering where he’s at now, tried to pull rank on her and address her by her rank in a tone where he expected no argument in return.
When he well knows what he & his company where doing to this female Soldier was wrong.
She had already given them a downpayment which was sufficient enough a few weeks ago and the loan company SNAAC approved her loan, which now Mr. I-still-think-I’m-in-the-Army, was saying they had not. Yet just earlier that day, she had the loan company on speakerphone and I heard them tell her they had no problem with issuing her the loan, it was the dealership that was trying to renege on it, going as far as to ask the loan company for the check back that they had sent to them to pay for the trade-in.
When they saw that they were making no leeway with her, they contacted her chain of command and told them that she would be “driving a stolen vehicle” if she drove it off the lot, so her commander then ordered her to leave it there and they would return with her the next day to retrieve her trade-in and her deposit. She still wanted to stay and stand her ground, but she needed to pick her child up at child care before a certain time, because if she was too late in picking her up, North Carolina law states that Child Services must be contacted.
The next day when she went back to the darkness that is Power Swain, she was ordered to leave the vehicle by Fayetteville’s ‘finest’, I use that term loosely, and told that if she wanted to get it back she would have to fight it in court because it was a “civil matter” yet, the police didn’t make the dealership give her back her downpayment nor reinstate her warranty on the vehicle she was coerced to take back.
So all in all, though she has a Bill of Sale and a contract for a car, same as the one I have for my vehicle purchased elsewhere thank god, they’re saying the car does not belong to her, and as of right now Power Swain dealership has still not given her back her downpayment.
The Sales Manager found this all funny and even felt confident enough to say that they “do this all the time” and get away with it. Nice huh? So beware before you think of “buying” your vehicle at Power Swain in Fayetteville, or any Power Swain if they are affiliated, because even though in any legit dealership paperwork & a contract is valid proof of ownership, apparently where this dealership is concern it is not.
The paper that has her signature as well as the signatures of several employees of Power Swain, is worth no more than a used piece of toilet tissue, since it’s all on their whims. We also, unfortunately learned they have no qualms about falsifying documents to suit their purposes.
And the Silver Tongue of Sales Manager, Kelly J. Butler, that right there is indisputably the devil’s, or any other evil being you might think of, right hand man.
Powers Swain takes all customer complaints very seriously as we are a family owned business and we read all of our reviews. Please let your friend, the customer, know that we are sorry the lender would not approve the financing, even after we went above and beyond to try and get the deal for her. We also tried to work with her to find her another vehicle that she would be happy with. Powers Swain did not charge her for the new tires we put on the new vehicle. Again, we are sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation, however the police have confirmed the vehicle belongs to Powers Swain Chevrolet especially after the damages that occurred to the vehicle.
Have been dealing with Power Swain for years and they are the best. Don’t care about anything negative anyone has had to say on here! Anyone who has an appreciation for cars and genuine good service will love this dealership!!! I have purchased cars from them in the past when I lived in the area and it was nothing but great!!! Bill Chaney the service manager is by far one of the Best in the USA would put him up against anyone!!! The man really knows his stuff. And when I have issues he is always ready to listen and get the job done. I drive 8 hrs one way to have him take car of my Corvette bc I know I can trust him. Would give him and the dealership 10 out of 5 stars if I could. Old school where they truly treat you like family!!! As long as you are courteous and respectful you will receive the same.
Back in July 2011 I was looking around town to purchase my next vehicle, so I decided to go to Power Swain. As soon as I pulled up and got out of my vehicle. NO ONE I mean NO ONE came out to help me. I stayed around for a good 10 min and NO ONE still came out. Comes to show how your sales people represent Power Swain. Lazy can’t come out to make a sale maybe because it was July and wanted to enjoy the A/C?
Some people don’t want to be jumped on the second they walk on the lot. I for one am one of those people. If you were that interested or eager to buy you should have walk in. I am sure you would have found plenty of salesman more than ready to fill your needs. It was your loss!
Powers Swain gas taken care of me and my two young adult children at all times and always fixed problems and issues with our vehicles all but one purchased at the dealership. Bill Chaney is the best Service Manager and so are all the people in the Service Department. Irwin Sellers lives up to his name…hahaha..I had nothing but a great experience with him over the many years as my sales person and would not trade him in for anyone else. If I or my children ever had any complaints Powers Swain always made sure to correct those immediately. My only complaint..the used cars are too high in price for this area and need to come down…
I want to thank Mr Jay Coats for his professionalism, courtesy assistance, patience and outstanding service in the purchase of our new vehicle. It was a quick process. We really appreciate everything!!!! (:
Please, save yourself…we bought a truck there, now they are trying to take it back after 37 days bc they messed up and did not have us finiaced like they said they did. they have already paid off my husbands trade in. But they want the new one back? Something really fishy is going on and this wife does not like it. Going to get a lawyer tomorrow morning. Have had nothing but problems since buying a truck there. Will never go back.
The SAME exact thing happen to my friend! And boy did they employ some serious underhanded tactics to get that vehicle back.
Please let your friend, the customer, know that we are sorry the lender would not approve the financing, even after we went above and beyond to try and get the deal for her. We also tried to work with her to find her another vehicle that she would be happy with. Again, we are sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation, however the police have confirmed the vehicle belongs to Powers Swain Chevrolet especially after the damages that occurred to the vehicle.
Awful! Enough said
Love my truck but when the trans went out powers swain refused to cover it under warranty. Leaving me to pay out of pocket. The truck is two months old and is my second car from powers swain. It WILL be my last.
As a customer for almost two decades. I have only had only positive experiences at Powers Swain Chevrolet . Mr Sellers is a true representation of their slogan,
” Our people make the difference “. Mr Sellers and I have enjoyed a professional relationship for many years. His willingness to focus on my needs as a customer,
making certain I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with my choice of automobile
is rare and certainly appreciated. In this age of dwindling customer service, it is refreshing to know it still exists at Powers Swain Chevrolet, where their people do indeed make the difference. I will happily continue to refer them to my friends and family.
Every time we have to take our vehicle in to get one thing fixed, not only is it not fixed correctly, but something else always seems to break within a week to two week period. In the past three months we have had our vehicle in there 5 different times, each time another item needs worked on. One of two things are happening, either the Chevy Trail Blazer is the biggest lemon and if so, I would never recommend anyone purchasing one or Power Swain Service Dept is out to scam all of their patrons. If the latter is the case I can only imagine what their Sales dept is like. The typical “used car salesman” scams. If you must buy a GM product please look elsewhere other than Power Swain. I would hate for someone else to get scammed and have to experience the pain of them stealing your money.
Flygirl: This is my EXACT experience for the past year, and oddly enough with a Chevrolet TrailBlazer. I kept thinking the same thing, “Well maybe the vehicle has issues, and I need to give them a chance.” They’re alwasy very friendly. I just got back from getting my brakes changed (which went from 6mm to 3mm in 10,000 miles…really?) I took them at their word and agreed to the change before I was able to look at my previous inspection forms. When I picked the vehicle up, my seat was set 100% different from the way I had it, which isn’t a huge deal, but not very respectful. The icing on the cake was they put 20 miles on it! It’s only 7 miles away from my apartment, where the hell were they driving it? I can understand 3-7 miles to check the brakes and such, but when I went in and asked if that was typical, all she said was, “no, should have just been around 5-6 miles.” That was it. Needless to say, today will be the last day they receive my business. N
