I found Berg Car through Autotrader and discovered they had the car I have always wanted. I live in southern Oregon and flew in to Portland where Jordon Berg picked me up from the airport, drove me to the dealer ship and I test drove the car. Neal Berg (the owner) told me by phone that the car would be BETTER than I thought and he was right. There was no pressure and these guys went above and beyond to make me happy. Thanks Berg!:D
In November 2009 I purchased a Eurovan Camper from Berg Car Company. The salesperson was about what you expect of a car salesman but friendly. It was not perfect but I could see that and offered accordingy. However, the AC ws not working and since I know that can cost $1000’s I made the sale contingent on it being fixed. After trying some used commpressors they purchased a new compressor and put that in themselves. It still di not work so they sent it to a local AC shop who found that one of the fans was not working and they fixed it. 3 months later however the compressor seized and broke the timing belt and a few other things. I got the timing belt and everything except the AC fixed for $750 and came back to the AC shop to see if they would fix the AC under warranty. They said no because they did not put the compressor in, they just sold it. The probem is that when you install an AC compressor, if you dont do the job right it (not flush for example, or put in the wrong amount of oil) it is easy to screw up the replacement. They said it was Berg car companies responsabity not theirs. Of course Neil at Berg sees no reason why he should have anything to do with it since it was the compressor that failed. What they would have done if the were a responsible operation is have the AC shop do the whole thing properly and so that it was covered by their warranty, but they are cheapskates so they tried to do it themselves. So, I am left with a $1600 bill 3 months after I purchased the vehicle for something that was supposedly fixed at the time of sale.
This is what you would expect from a second rate car dealer which is what this operation is. Just look arround you when you go into the sales office, I blame myself for dealing with them, it kinda obviouse what kind of service you will get.
Thanks
A few years ago they had it going on for them. My car was done when promised.:).
Upon trading in my other vehicle this last year I felt as tho they had lost the customer service that I experienced before. They at one time had a very good mechanic. I tried to find out where he went, (to a better job?) to no avail
Couldnt get my concerns across due to language barrier. Im just a dumb woman.
Good Luck.
