I dropped my car after hours for replacement of 2 window regulators the next day. Two months before, during a maintenance visit, they said a strut was shot but I declined the repair because the service visit had already cost me close to $1,000 for various problems they diagnosed. The car sounded fine & performed fine. I did not feel rushed to fix. Aside from the non-working windows, the car I left in their lot did not make noise & drove great, but the next morning I was told, “when the mechanic pulled the car inside, it made a HORRENDOUS noise.” You have a bad strut that needs repair. I responded that I knew my strut would soon need replacement, but there was no noise & I would not be having it fixed that day since the regulator repair was already costing more than $1,500. Guess what? When my husband picked up the car, there sure as hell was a horrendous noise and he was lucky to get home safely. I don’t believe in the tooth fairy anymore, and I don’t believe that my strut would oh so conveniently (for volvo) disintegrate overnight in their parking lot.
All service departments push to sell their service, but in my opinion, at this dealership they did more than that.
Never again. Be warned.
they don,t care if they make a sale or not or if you go to another dealer and get a better they don,t care to try to keep you
I went in for the standard 60K service. My xc90 ran perfectly well, handled perfectly when I dropped it off. While at their shop, they said it needed a new transmission, exhaust support brackets, “front end links” – don’t really know what those are, as well as both L/R front axles. They also said that they “highly recommended” doing these repairs to make my car safe on the road. As I said, my car ran perfectly well and drove perfectly well before I dropped it off. I reluctantly let them do this work. My work order bill was over $3k, but would have been more – they said that “Volvo” was covering some of the transmission cost as a “good will” gesture. I picked up my car and it has never been the same – it feels different, it doesn’t drive as well, and now I feel a “jerk” when the car is shifting down as I slow the car under 25mph. Find another service department – I DO NOT recommend this dealer for any work. I’m now taking my car to Englewood Volvo.
