Like earlier review, I purchased a certified vehicle with damage that was not disclosed by dealer but they agreed to repair after we pointed it out. Instead of repairing properly they tried to “rig” it to make it appear fixed and did more damage in the process. Not usually a reviewer but would like to save others the trouble I had. Buy somewhere else
I want to thank the service department at Marquardt of Barrington.
I had several warning lights on my dash (ABS and Traction Control and something else) and had taken my car to a couple service places. I had been told that there were several sensors and a wheel bearing that had to be replaced, and that it could cost $700 – $1200 to fix these things. I couldn’t afford that. Normally I wouldn’t go to a Dealer since everyone tells you they cost too much for service, but at this point I had nothing to lose so I took it in to the dealership.
They told me there was nothing wrong with the wheel bearing hub or the ABS sensor. There was a loose ground wire causing the warning lights to come on!!
Total Cost= $180.
Taking your car to people who know what they are doing?= Priceless!!

I purchased a GM certified G6 from Marquart of Barrington. I traded in my 3yr old lease (which I also purchased from Marquart). The sales experience was great. The staff has always been friendly and goes above and beyond what I would expect from a dealership. Service for regular maintence is top notch. The car has been great.:)
The technicians at this dealership admittedly missed a serious problem worth $400 with my car before selling it to me, and now I am stuck with the bill. This indicates to me that they were either not as thorough as they could have been checking the car before selling it to me, or they are not being completely truthful with me.
Either way their technicians made feel as if it was my fault for not checking the car thoroughly enough myself in the first place. Note that I took this ot another GM dealership to fix the problem, and they told me the problem had to start before I bought the car. Most people I ask agree that they should have taken care of this problem at Marqaurdt, and most people tell me it is very unlikely they did not know about this mechanical problem while they had the car. The problem was a very loud noise coming from the rear on sharp turns. When I tested teh care I didnt take a sharp turn because I followed the route the sales person told me to follow to test the car. As you can imagine there were no sharp turns in the suggested path.
Either way, Marquardt will not pay for the repair. Beware of how they repair your car. Obviously they miss critical things that can be costly to you down the road. And don’t waste your time calling GM, they won’t do anything to help you.
My suggestion, buy FORD and stay away from this place. Also please let me know through this forum if you have dealt with them, and if you have had negative responses or experiences, and if you are Hispanic. I am researching their level of customer care with Hispanic customers. Thanks.

Service At Marquardt is the best! I brought My Torrent GXP in for a light noise that was really irritating when it happened, Matthew gave me a car to drive while the shop checked out my noise and fixed it. No muss no fuss! everything went really smoothly and they all have great personalities. I was very satisfied with my service there, for the first time in a long time. No one in the area even comes close! Believe me, I’ve tried most of them.:D
I thought everyone should know about the excellent service and friendly atmosphere at such a great dealership. A rare find!
