I asked if they took Costco,USAA or Navy Federal. kept telling me they gave me a discount never telling me they dont deal with Costco. Gave me a 807. dollar discount on a 23925- price. I realized after the fact . I should have asked more questions and they should have been up front and said we dont give their discount and then I would have walked or tryed to get the price to what It should have been. They saw me coming and I must have had sucker stuck to my forehead. If you buy from them please be careful and dont do what I did. Just beware I will never buy from them again
Will never buy from them again. They tried the high pressure, we will give you what you want, etc and after 2 long days of standing my ground I won my truck! at 9K miles my truck started acting funny..took it back and they told me it was my fuel injectors. They charged me $375 for the service, which 1. They blamed me for bad gas and I doubt in 9K miles it needed fuel injectors cleaned and 2. The service was actually on $175 there and $125 at another dealership. I found this out by calling the next day. I had to pay or they refused to give me my keys.
I dropped my 2007 Avalon off at the dealership to simply have a broken sunroof glass replaced. Upon picking my car up i discovered parts missing, the sunroof didnt even work, glass still in the vehicle, and to top off my Navigation system just shows an error now! This was on Saturday when I went to pick my car up and saw all of this. This morning(Monday) I go talk to them about this and the body shop manager tells me that my sunroof was working fine all along, there was no glass in the car, “its only a $1.14 piece thats missing” and if the navigation system is broken its nothing the dealership done! Everyone at the dealership acted so confrontational and pretty much told me I was lying! Talk about dishonesty, they charged to the tune of $1700 to replace sunroof glass because they claimed the entire assembly required replacement!
Well Brian Wendall and Richard, I will fight this battle to the end.
Its called integrity and honesty! Oh and pride! Ill be printing out alll of the complaints you guys have received to help support my complaint, including one I know of personally whereas a family member had his vehicle robbed while parked in your locked bay behind your locked gate! Inside job that was kept quiet. Oh and this was after the dealership backed his vehicle into another vehicle causing damage to both!
Koons needs to get it together.
I went to this dealership looking for a new or used truck. I spoke with Lev Lewis and he showed me a used truck. I test drove the truck and liked it. I had done a lot of research on the price of used Toyota trucks and had visited other dealership. I told Lev the price I was willing to pay for the truck (about $700 less than they were asking). I told Lev that I would buy the vehicle for that price. They told me they could not come down on the price. I told them (Lev and his manager) that I understood and left. The next day I was called up by Lev and told that they would take my offer on the truck. I drove to the dealership and was then told well into the process that they could only give it to me at my price without any warranty. Also, without the Toyota warranty the loan rate would not be the 2.9% we had agreed on. So, in exchange for the $700 they were going to take away a 70,000 mile warranty and give me an interest rate of 5%. Basically, they were pulling the old bait and switch on me. They did the old let me get my “manager” to talk to you. The manager told me that I had misunderstood the conversation on the phone. I asked to speak with Lev Lewis and the manager at the same time. The manager said he had a phone call to take and left me sitting in Lev’s office. I would tell everyone to stay away from this dealership. If they are going to lie to you what good is a warranty anyway? Take you business some other place.
Low ball offered on my trade. Sales Manager came over to with his counter offer to which i responded with my counter offer and the manager got up and walked away. At this point I should have gotten up and left but I did like my sales person and the vehicle i was trying to purchase. To me the sales manager lacked professionalism and was very arrogant. Overall salesman was good but sales manager should be in the unemployment line.
I took my car into Koons Toyota in Annapolis, MDfor an oil change. After looking over my car the service writer informed methat I needed new brake rotors. I discussed it with him and ultimately agreedto the work to the tune of $600. After driving on my new brake rotors, something didn’t feel right. The brakes felt tight, but I chalked it up to newbrakes needing to be broken in. After driving a bit, it got worse and I noticedmy gas mileage greatly decreasing. It seemed like the brakes were not letting go.
Two weeks later, I brought my car back to Koons and workedwith Lex as my service writer. I briefed him on the situation and he said theywould have a look. After a few hours Lex called me back and said my brake linewas pinched and that caused the caliper to seize. The estimated cost of therepair was around $850. Needless to say, I balked at that price. After spending$600 on brakes two weeks prior, and my wife having spent $800 at Koons formaintenance, I didn’t really have more money for this repair. I talked to Lexand said that these symptoms had been showing themselves since I got myoriginal brake work done. Prior to the rotor work, I experienced no troublewith my brakes. He advised me that I must have run something over that pinchedmy brake line. Instantly, I was skeptical of that claim. I hadn’t hit anythingbig enough to cause damage to a brake line and I didn’t think normal wear andtear really had any chance to hit that line. I called to two other dealerships. Both told me they had never heard of that line being pinched by normal usage. Icalled Lex back and he couldn’t recall ever seeing the line pinched by normalusage. I asked Lex what could’ve done it. He told me, a rock, a 2X4, or“someone could have jabbed a screwdriver into it.” My service writer advised methat a screwdriver could’ve been jabbed into my brake line. I was stunned atthat. I told him the $800 wasn’t going to happen and he asked me what I feltwas fair. I said I think Koons should handle the repair, but I could do a fewhundred dollars.
The next day, I met Lex and he showed me the line. It wasindeed pinched. Lex advised that he could take 50% off the parts, and 20% offthe labor costs, and bring my total down to about $775. I asked Lex to pull mycar off the lift and took my vehicle to another dealer for service. Lex’sdiagnosis was correct, the brake line was pinched. However, with multiple othertechnicians, service writers, and Lex himself having never seen this line getpinched by normal road usage, I wonder how this happened. It doesn’t seempossible to me that I’d be one of the first people to have this happen, withintwo weeks of having brake work done. A call made to Koons Toyota’s managementoffice in Mclean, VA went unreturned. My car has now cost meclose to $1500 to fix my front brakes.
Troy was a great salesman. He didn’t push me to buy a car. He listened to what I was interested in and recommended a few cars. He told me the great features of the Camry I liked. He was helpful at showing me all the features. All salesmen want to make a sale, but he was more interested in me being happy and him being fair than pushing me to buy.
After I agreed to buy the car later on, they sold my car to someone else. Troy arranged with the dealer to provide a better car at the same price we agreed to. I didn’t have to wait for it or anything. He was very easy to work with, time efficient, and it ended up being a great experience.
Do not trade in your vehicle at this dealership. Take your vehicle to CARMAX and get their offer before trying to trade in your vehicle. New Car sales staff is great. Service is great. Used car is 0. I would never buy a used car or trade in at this dealership. I have been dealing with Koons for over 30 years and other than the used car department I would highly recommend.
