Overall very bad experience. The guys are generally very friendly and willing to help but at the end don’t do anything towards doing this. In order to get something done, you have to basically step on their necks and stay around pushing them every now and then to do this and that. Internal organization and processes seem to me not to be working. I was trying to find my way around, as opposed to having let’s say my appointed sales guy do the stuff for me. And at the end, it ends up having 3 people on a case working independently – a classic waste of resources, money and time.
The buying process – I didn’t realise what I was paying for and while I must admit that’s me to blame, the process must have been more transparent. There were tons of maintenances, warranties, etc. that add up to the price. As explained to me, in order to reduce the interest rate. Whether that was true or not, I cannot tell. At the end I was fine with the price, although I have this gut feeling it could have been lower.
I was promised I could take the car as soon as I was approved, then it turned out, I should be having the insurance, and then what not. Finally, I got it when I made the payment. Which was ok, I was in no hurry but you shouldn’t be talking nonsense and empty promises.
It took me 4 hours to finally get the car, waiting in their office, getting to know everyone around there and they were still not ready with the documents so they had to send them on the next day via a courier.
I had a follow up issue to resolve with them. First, they even tried to convince me I’m not entitled to it. Then after I researched and was persistent it turned out that since the car is certified, I am entitled. Whether it was because of missing knowledge or intentional, I cannot say. It was a constant exchange of emails, phone calls (most of the times they wouldn’t answer me), making appointments and going there just so they tell me they can’t make it and I should make another appointment. Overall it took me a month and a half to get this done but I managed to.
Avoid at all cost! We dealt with a salesman named Keith Kozik. In the beginning of negotiations we were given RIDICIOUSLY inflated numbers when we knew what a fair deal should be. We were able to bring it down to a reasonable financial agreement. We came back later in the afternoon and we shook hands on a deal. We could not drive the car of the lot the same evening because of the logistics but we mutually agreed to meet in 2 days to pick up the car. We were literally told that they will put a sold sign on a car and we will be getting the deal that we agreed upon. We called Keith Kozik on the day of the appointment to check and we were firmly informed that the car was waiting for us for the same amount of money we agreed upon. We were also promised a fair amount for a trade – in vehicle. Upon arriving to the dealership, driving from far away and spending 2 hours in a rush hour traffic we were greeted by Keith with “ how was traffic”. After the “normal” wait time we were informed theour trade in is not worth anything. Moreover, when we asked if we are still getting the same deal without factoring the trade-in they made us wait another 30 minutes. Only after that Keith told us that “they lost the rebate” and the monthly payments were inflated by 10%. Nissan Atlantic renegaded on agreed deal. At this point we got up and walked away. We do understand their MO however, given the fact that they knew we were not going to take the inflated deal and especially calling ahead and knowing we were coming from so far away we consider that Keith should have been honest and upfront with us. I would consider Atlantic Nissan and its representative Keith Kozik being dishonest, manipulative and unfair. All in all it would be the prime example of unfair business practices ran by unscrupulous, lying and deceptive in addition to not being inconsiderate and unprofessional people.
After finding a great deal on there internet page – I called the dealership to check it’s availability. I was told – Yes , so I set up an appointment and went to go buy my car. After looking at the car and talking to the salesperson we agreed on a price and he went to the manager to O.K. everything. Haider came back with a piece of paper that said I would have to pay an additional $685 for an administration fee and $700 delivery charge along with the tax. And he also told me I would have to come back on Sunday morning @ 11:00 A.M. when they open because they didn’t have the title. I gave Haider my American Express card to hold the car for me. When I returned on Sunday morning – Haider met me at the door and said ” Well let’s go look at some other cars because yours was sold after you left last night”. I can’t even explain how upset this made me – especially after the car was still on the lot ( and is still on the lot 7 days later). I asked to speak to the manager and Haider led me to him and walked away. The manager was giggling on the phone when we were standing in front of him waiting to talk. He put his hand over the mouthpiece and said to us, “ What’s Up ?” I told him what happened and he responded by Yelling at me saying ” If I didn’t show an insurance card and a bank check – Then I didn’t buy anything – Go look at the other cars on the lot. Warning – Stay away from this dealership. They are all a bunch of SCAMERS !!!!!!!!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Stay Away!!! Salesperson pressures you to hurry and buy barely giving you the opportunity to look at the vehicles. Made promises of great discounts and deals once at his desk he set his price and was almost afraid to approach manager with any negotiations.
Promises of items that were to be fixed took weeks to fix and of course after you’ve signed on the dotted line super salesman wants to have no further dealings with you.
This place should be shut down!
Salesman was nice, but going back and forth to manager game very annoying. Finally manager comes with big time attitude how there price is great, and blah blah blah, trying to wear you down….aggrevating experience, stay away.
I CANNOT STAND CAR DEALERSHIPS!!!! HAD A DEAL ALL SET FOR A USED 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. I ASKED THE SALESMAN WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO ALL THE ONES I SAW ONLINE FOR GREAT PRICES? HE SAID THOSE ARE BOUGHT ONLINE IMMEDIATELY. I SHRUGGED IT OFF AND LEFT A DEPOSIT TO HOLD THE CAR SINCE I WAS LEAVING TOWN FOR BUSINESS AND WOULD BE BACK THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY TO PICK UP THE CAR AND GO OVER DETAILS WITH FINANCE MANAGER. WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND DECIDED TO CHECK THE WEBSITE AGAIN FOR THE CARS I HAD PREVIOUSLY SAW. SHOCKINGLY I ACTUALLY HAD PUT THE SAME CAR IN MY FAVORITES THE NIGHT BEFORE AND IT WAS LISTED FOR $1000 LESS THAN THE DEAL WE AGREED ON. CALLED AND SPOKE TO MANAGER THE NEXT DAY AND HE AGREED TO ONLINE PRICE SO WE THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION UNTIL FRIDAY CAME. SAT AT DEALERSHIP FOR 2 1/2 HOURS AND THEN SAT DOWN WITH THE ARROGANT FINANCE JERK OFF. NOW I MUST SAY I HAVE BAD CREDIT SO I NEEDED A CO-SIGN, WHICH THE SALESMAN SAID IT WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM. THE CO-SIGNER HAS PERFECT CREDIT. NOW A $14,988 CAR WITH $1,000 DOWN WOULD COST ALMOST $300 A MONTH FOR 72 MONTHS, BUT SINCE OUR CO-SIGNER AND I DID NOT LIVE AT SAME ADDRESS IT WOULD BE $404 A MONTH FOR 72 MONTHS. WOW A $14,988 USED CAR NOW ALMOST DOUBLED IN PRICE. I UNDERSTAND TAX, BUT WHEN THIS DICK SHOWED US THE FORM IT HAD ALL SORTS OF EXTRA FEES INCLUDED. I PICKED UP MY STUFF TOLD THE FINANCE CROOK THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME, GOT MY DEPOSIT BACK AND WALKED OUT. BEWARE!!
NEVER GO TO THIS DEALER BUYER BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!! just to let everyone know THIS SALES person is FIRED because of the dishonest promises he had given to me…… and the work is still not done as promise….. he promised me that all the scratches and bubbles in the 1/4 panel driver side would be taken off the car and 4 brand knew tires made me a false date to bring my car in to get the body work done. 1 week later we sat down with the manager in which the sales person was supposed to be present but unfortunatly he called out sick. so i showed the manager the bumps on the 1/4 panel and i told him this needs to be done!!! as well as the the back bumper and the licence plater holder that was coming off. not to mention the sales person putting 2 holes in my front bumper. He sad okay. went back into the dealership they gave me a rental car 10 days later i get a phone call saying my car is ready to be picked up i asked him is the bumps off of my car the manager replies no you would have to bring the car to the ding and dong shop for that the u dont bring it to a body shop for that. so i said to him let me get this straight it took 10 day just for you to fix the back bumper and the front bumper? The manager replied and we got all the scratches off the car for you, and gave you 4 knew tires. I got to the dealership and saw my car this must a joke bec the scratches is still on my car the bumpes is still there nothing that has been promised to me has been done except for the knew tires, the back bumper, and the licence plate!!!!! theres still SCRATCHES AND BUMPS ON MY 1/4 panel that was promised to me that it would taken care off………Prices of there cars are way to hight unreliable sales people
:mad:I had a problem with A/C,/heat fan of my 1998 Pathfinder. I was told the dealer is better equipped to fix it.
On 9/25/10,around 8AM, I took my car to the dealer. The Service desk:devil( looked at the car and told me “It is not a big deal, cost will be around $300 but I need $150 for the diagnosis which we will credit it to the final cost if you agree the repair. In addition, he told me that “There is a “recall” somewhere in the car and has to be fixed immediately. I told him I have no transportation going back home.
He told me that I better to stay and I can have the car around 11-12 PM.
Around 12 PM he called me and told me that repair for the fan is $585 and if a disagree, I will lose $150.He also said I need full stut assembly which need to be changed immediately. My car has been okay but he said I need it now. and if I agree with both repair he will give me %15 break. We agreed $1,050 (Tax included). Around 4 PM, he called me that he needs $56 more because I needed new part. I went to the work place, saw that the mechanic while fixing a part has he had placed too much pressure, and broke it. I told the manager that I do not feel paying $56 for a part due to the mechanic’s lack of patience (and competence) breaking the part.
The manager started screaming and insulting me that “I don’t care, you must pay we don’t do anything here for free”
Around 4:30, he comes back with a Bill of $1,186. When I told him even with unfair overcharge of $56, still it is not what we had agreed. He again, in front of all customers and other employees, started to call me “liar”, and “Crook” and honestly I though he would hit me.
Finally, with the intervention of one of cashiers, he charged me$1,100.
I am 66 Y/O man with the heart problems and this day was one of most unpleasant and stressful day of my life.
Thank You
Note: Driving back home, although I got a good A/C, but my front wheels are shaky like hell I have to go to a different place to fix it.
I can’t trust these bullies again.
DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP. I called on a car the day before i went to look at it and even left Anthony my cell # in case he needed to reach me. When i got there (30 min each way), what a surprise the car was gone! Anthony wasn’t there but another sales woman told me it was sold a week ago. LIES. Not only did I tell him that i was coming the following day but i told him it was sorta a far drive so made sure i got some info on the car. What bullshit! A 1/4 of a tank later, mileage on my car, & 1 hour of my dad’s & my time WASTED.
I have not purchased a car from them, however, I found out that a Finance Manager Stanley Sigerson works there now!!! He was the Finance manager involved with the Smithtown Nissan fraud case that The attorney generals office is prosecuting….I was one of the 300 or so victims…He obviosly relocated to Atlantic Nissan…BUYER BEWARE…If you deal with this man it is at your own risk!!!….just google his name and you will see all the complaint regarding smithtown nissan and his name…..I have documentation to prove it that I have sent months ago to the Attorney generals office………….I just wanted to let everone know…Nissan cars are great but do not buy from him.!!!!
Oh wow, he was our finance person as well. He ripped me off $1295 for tires saying that it came standard with the extended warranty and that it wasn’t in addition to the $2500, it wasn’t until later that I realized he added it on without showing it anywhere, I ended up getting the money back and now I am trying to cancel the extended warranty and they are giving me trouble. I was also ripped off from Smithtown Nissan my last car I bought by the finance department, I don’t remember if it was him though that handled it. They wrote in the amount for extra additions to the car that they said came for free with the car after I signed the paper work.
tnns722…sorry to here that!…They frauded my also in 5 ways but they made mistakes on the paperwork and I took them to small claims court and we settled for about 1/2 the money….i have very incriminating paperwork that the attorney general office has in their possession hopefully they use it…i could write a novel explaining but they added 2500 to price of car, forged wifes signature on paperwork, etc….I do not trust any car dealer but this guy takes it to another level!!! AVOID HIM!!!

I went there looking for a used xterra, the saleperson, Grant said that he found a car for me for a deal that I couldn’t refuse. He told me the car was an xterra SE. He wrote SE on the piece of paper with all the information I was to give my insurance company about the car. He told me the SE only came with roof racks, running boards and a wheel mounted radio changer. When I asked him if my car had the radio changer he said no, but he still said it was an SE. When I get home with the car and I looked up all the specs online I found it was missing many things an SE should have. I told him I wasn’t familiar with what each model had but he said, don’t worry that is why he was there to help us and we could trust him. When we went there the next day to find out why the car was an S and not an SE the person in finance said we would sit down with the salesman and manager and I would leave happy, we waited for an hour when they said it would only be 20 minutes, then they tell us they both won’t be in until the afternoon. We ended up wasting 2 1/2 hours there and leaving with nothing. When we finally spoke with the manager and salesman the salesman denied ever writing it. The manager was unhelpful and it is obvious he was only trying to cover the salesperson’s mistake. They are lying, dishonest people and should never be allowed to sell a car to anyone. Beware of the salesman named Grant!!!
I just purchased a Santa Fe last week. This is the second vehicle I purchased at this dealership. I had no problems with the first car, but this time they really gave it to me. We agreed on a price “WITH THE TRADE IN”. They threw in the roof rail cross bars, a cargo net, and they were even nice enough to get me a 0% financing. Little did I know, I was supposed to get them anyway. After their expert mathematicians ran the final numbers, with confusing tactics using sticker prices, taxes, trade in, rebate, tags, fees, and more fees you never heard of, I realized that I paid the price of the car, PLUS the trade in. I was too late because I realized this after I left the dealer. The next day, I went there, and they denied any wrongdoing. They are . They refused to cancel the transaction. I will contact Hyundai, and consumer affairs. And I can’t wait to get my hands on the survey!!!!
