Serious issues with financing, was allowed to drive off lot thinking all financing was ok only to be called 1 week later telling me my financing had fallen through, unless I could come up with $8,000 more dollars. People should not be allowed to drive off without secure financing. Sounds like a bit of a scam, now that you have the car and are comfortable with it you are told you have to return it if you can’t secure financing, come on…
To top it off if you return the car, there are all kinds of fees for vehicle usage.
I am a student and work I have good credit but not a strong credit history and did not want to rely on a co-signer and knew my finance rate would be high but needed a good vehicle to commute to work and school in Dekalb (a 2 hour drive 3x’s/week there and back) and was tired of used vehicles with alot of maintainence. I ended up having to scramble, taking time off work to get financing on my own with a co-signer.
Not a good a good business practice. In no other business are you allowed to leave with the goods till financing is secured, be it a home; flat screen TV ; washer/dryer etc.
The service department at Anthony was very helpful when my brakes went out. They fixed my broken brake line promptly and kept me informed the entire time that my vehicle was in the shop.
I recently bought my Sierra and my wife’s Lucerne from Joe Augelli at Anthony Pontiac GMC Buick. I have to say that they were the easiest and most enjoyable vehicle purchases I have ever made. Lil fat Joe, as he likes to be called, treated us like family. It was quick, easy, and painless. Straight forward pricing over the internet that was actually honored when we came in. That store in Libertyville could learn a lot from these guys!!
ME AND MY GIRLFREIND BROUGHT A 09 PONTIAC G6 NICK WAS VERY IMFORMATIVE 😀 THE WHOLE STAFF AT ANTHONY WERE WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH AND I WILL BE BUYING ALL OF MY VEHICLES FROM THERE AS WILL EVERYONE I CAN SEND THERE.
I got the Pontiac $6500 rebate and a great car. Nick was the best and the managers were very helpful.
Salesman Joe Augelli (the owners brother) tried to convince me that the vehicle I was interested in was never in an accident, yet the accident was clearly detailed on the vehicles Carfax report. I really didn’t care about the accident – it bothered me more that Joe was lying. Why? When I pointed out that the tires on the vehicle were unsafe (there was a gash on the front right tire sidewall that I could get two fingers in and the tread on all four was low) Joe asked the sales manager (Larry) to take a look at them. Larry assured me that the tires were fine. Fine? So we go in Joe’s office to talk numbers – I ask to include a new set of tires because the tires are not safe. They offer to replace the one tire. I say – no deal and walk.
Another salesman grabs me as I walk out to my car. What happened? he asks. I told them they wanted too much money and refused to fix an existing problem – he told me he would go to work for me and give me a call.
He calls me (I live 145 miles from the dealership) two days later and says – if we can do this number and four new tires are you interested? If we can do that number and new tires (good new tires) it’s a deal. He says it’s a deal, he asks me give him five days to order new tires and get the truck detailed. Four days later, I get a voicemail that says… Oh, that car sold last night. 😮 I call down to ask WTF – the salesman wont pick up the phone – all day. I talk to a customer service person, and she tells me “There must be some confusion – that car is here and still available.” :eek:WTF. I get another call from Joe Augelli, “No that car sold – why didn’t you put money down?” I did the deal with another guy over the phone Joe from 145 miles away. He transfers me to Larry – the sales manager. Larry and I go round and round – finally he gets frustrated enough to tell me flat out, “I got 500 dollars more from another guy and he didn’t need new tires – that’s business.” I said Larry, that’s BAD business.
Please avoid these shadesters – there are plenty of negative posts on these guys – I guess I thought they would be different.
