I made a deal with the salesman and sales manager for $24000 out the door which includes tax, licence ,dealer charge ,plates registration etc. When I picked up the car they added a little over $1000 on my financing. Where it came from they still will not explain. The aftersales person sold me a nissan security plus package which I took only because he said that 6 years schedualed mantinance is include with the purchase , when I look at the paperwork he charges me another $995 for the maintenence package over the $2500 charge for the nissan security package. Then he says if I want to pay 2 times a month it would save $3000 on finance charges, The truth is that you pay every two weeks ,which is 26 payments a year and the savings is half of what was portrayed.
If you want to do business with these people go right ahead, I will never again
klter1,
My name is ToniAnne and I handle customer service for NY Auto Giant. I am very sorry that you were unhappy with your experience at my Advantage Nissan dealership, and from your comments, I can absolutely see why you feel so negatively about us. At NY Auto Giant, we make the commitment to be honest with all of our customers and inform them upfront of any and all charges associated with their purchase, and from your review I can see that my team did not follow through on this commitment.
I would really like to speak with you to learn more about your experience and your purchase with us – and also to see if there is any way we can turn things around for you. Please email me your contact information at [email protected] and I will touch base with you as soon as possible. Thank You
On October 13, 2012 my husband and I entered Advantage Nissan in Westbury to shop around for an SUV. After test driving a Rogue SV, began negotiating the price with James, the sales person. Finally, James and us agreed on $24,000 for a 2012 Rogue SV minus a $7,000 trade for a total of $17,000 to be financed for 5 years. My husband and I using the calculator on our cell phone also came to more and less the same amount. After a long wait, we finally met with the finance person named John Rodriguez. I explained the deal we agreed on with the salesman. He listened, nodded and said : “Your payment will be 300. 61 for 60 months”. When I got back home from the dealership I reviewed the forms. That’s when I came across a form that seemed like the bill of sale, which I don’t recall signing or seeing before. The price of the car was listed as 28,000+. I was charged for extended warranty and an interest rate of 5.9%. I was given a 59 month payment of 300.61 and one last balloon payment of 10,800. When we went back, John Rodriguez first said that they would absorb the $10,800. When asked what that meant, he stated that after the 59 months we would come back to him and get another car from them using the car as a trade in. So it will be a wash. He was also talking about not disturbing his portfolio. We explained that we wanted to own the car free and clear and this was a ridiculous explanation that should have been discussed. He finally said, “you should have looked what you were signing”.
The car was sold to me under false pretenses. I decided to report this to the office of attorney general for investigation. I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who is ever been taken by a car salesman. However, I believe that this unethical behavior has to stop and that can only be stopped if we, the consumer, tell our side of story to the officials whose job is to protect the consumers. If you are reading this post and have a similar story please report it to the attorney general. My husband and I are both professionals with graduate degrees. If we can be taken by a couple of high school dropouts at Advantage Nissan, I have no doubt that there are many others out there with similar stories. The authorities will take action if they see a pattern.

S,
My name is ToniAnne and I handle the customer service here at Advantage Nissan. I would like to apologize for your recent experience at our dealership. It is completely unacceptable for our staff members to treat a customer with such disrespect and lack of professionalism. I can assure you that I will be looking into this to ensure this never happens again. To be sold a car under false pretenses is something I do not stand by. I am terribly sorry to hear about your story and I would like to extend my personal email address: [email protected], to learn more about your situation. I will be looking into this situation personally and will ensure this does not happen again. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I look forward to speaking with you.
Best,
ToniAnne
ToniAnn,
I appreciate your response. I understand that your job is to investigate customer complaints. However, your “ensuring that this will never happen again” is not helping me. Write to me when you can reverse this outrageous display of dishonesty and deception that happened at your facility. Otherwise, I am not looking for your sympathy and apology. Reverse it. Make it right. Do it online. I do not need your lip service. I want results.
