I had a terrible experience at this dealership when trying to lease my second Subaru for which the one star minimum is too high. Valentina Craig and managers David Taylor quoted me an attractive price on a car (in writing) but then told me they would have to raise it when I tried to make a deposit on the car four business hours later. Their dishonest tactics also included refusing to detail in writing the fees on the lease agreement prior to my putting down a deposit, handing me a brochure for their costly extended warranty brochure when I asked for a written description of their free lifetime warranty, telling me that leased cars that are subsequently purchased qualify for the dealership’s lifetime warranty and then retracting the statement when I asked to see it in the warranty description, lying about whether I could trade in my existing vehicle for its equity, and trying to trick us into test driving a higher trim than the one we had agreed to test drive. When I complained about this dishonesty to owner Paul Garavel he refused to rectify the matter.
These tactics were likely violations of the CT Unfair Trade Practices Act and Section 5 of the Fair Trade Commission Act, and help explain why this dealership received the worst rating (an F) from the Better Business Bureau. Therefore, do yourself a favor and stay away from these cheats. If you do shop there, have a lawyer lined up to sue them after they defraud you, or at least file complaints against them with the CT Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, Subaru of America, CT DMV Consumer Complaint Center, etc. If you transacted with them and believe you had a good experience, you may want to re-examine your sale/lease documents.
