I’m one NOT Happy Customer of Oak Lawn “Happy Hyundai” !
Simple to say … I had worst car buying experience I ever had in my life.
Saw advertising/listing on Cars.com and then on Their own website and found 2 Gray 2018 Tucson SUVs. Ok, great, talked to Gaby (Gabriella) about specific GRAY TUCSON (one of them) and was promised reimbursement for Uber and $100 for making appointment. Great start. I told her I’m coming, she said no problem, ask for “VIP manager ” …wooow..I’m a VIP …
I came after 1.5 Hrs/$43 Uber drive. Entering dealership … one young nice guy is taking me to the Desk …another Sales guy took me to a computer and I told him “I talked to Gaby about that GRAY Tucson” , he said immediately Black .., no I want one of those 2 Gray once . No, we don’t have Gray one. “ Hold on I just talked to Gaby and she said you have 2 of them.” Went to manager…OMG what an unfriendly face expression /…Sir .. we’ll give you a black one…no I don’t want the black one. She tried to explain how those Gray once are sold…ahaha..in last hour and those cars were listed for Weeks….still listed !!! Fake listing, fake advertising, mad and unfriendly people .. No one even tried to apologies or say something nice to me. She even threatened to kick me out of the door for raising my voice. Well I was Disappointed and frustrated ! SHAME SHAME ! The young guy escorted me to the door… no SORRY word exists there. I’ll try my best to get the word out to the world as much as I can about this issue I had ! BBB will be notified about FALSE listing of nonexistent cars , False prices , lying in my face . They even tried to make me guilty for not buying a Black car …..Sad !
During the month of January, 2015 I applied for auto financing with a salesman named Mr. G. Knox at the former Currie Motors Drivers’ Edge. As a result of several factors, I was told that without a rather large down payment, I would not be able to purchase the vehicle.
On Monday March 16, 2015 I was left a message by Mr. Knox stating that he had changed dealerships and was now employed at Happy Hyundai in Oak Lawn. Mr. Knox stated that there were more programs that would help get me into the vehicle that I was looking for. He stated that he had all of my information and requested a call back.
I called Mr. Knox back and he once again stated that there were more financing options and that he had my information. Tuesday and Wednesday passed, with several vehicles that he located, were already sold.
On Thursday March 9, 2015, Mr. Knox called and stated that my credit score had dropped 60 points and that because of that I would need to put down $3500.00. I told him that I didn’t believe that my score had dropped that much, and then asked him how would he have that information, since I had not filled out a credit application, either online or in person, and had not given him my social security number and / or permission to check credit.
Mr. Knox stated that the once someone applies for an auto loan, he only has to put the customer’s name into the system and it would give him an updated credit score. I told him that I knew that that was incorrect and he then tried to tell me that the systems for all car dealerships are connected and that that was how he got that information. I informed him again that I knew that to be incorrect. After arguing for several minutes, Mr. Knox hung up on me. I then called and spoke with one of the sales managers, Ray Reynold’s and informed him of the situation.
I was notified late Thursday night / early Friday morning by several credit monitoring companies, that there several hard inquiries on my credit report from Happy Hyundai in Oak Lawn, confirming my fears that Mr. Knox had retained personal and private information without my consent, and used them without my permission. Information that was given to Currie Motors.
I came in looking to purchase a Tucson. I have been to other dealerships around the area and did not like the way I was treated at any of them. When I came to Happy I was expecting the same thing. I was wrong!!! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a hello. I found the car I liked and talked numbers. Very easy staff to talk to as well as work to come up with a number we both agreed on. The sales staff, manager, and finace man were all wonderful. At no time did I ever feel pressured to “Buy Now”. Happy Hyundai truly has the customer in mind. Maybe that’s why it’s called “Happy” Hyundai. I Will definitely buy from them in the again as well as recommend to all of my friends and family.
Happy Hyundai definitely came through and made it happen for me! One bad dealership experience after another! I was so glad to get treated like a human being here…. Super easy to do business! Paul, Ruben, and Randy were AWESOME people! After being lied to over the Internet by other dealers with Internet pricing (They tell you a low price so they can get you to come in, different story when you get there). I was already uncomfortable dealing with “Salesmen”, These guys are first class!! Love my Sonata, They have the best price, hands down without lying… THANK YOU HAPPY HYUNDAI!!!!
We went to Happy Hyundai and found a very nice Elantra. The salesman Fred was a gentleman and explained verything to us. I called the shop about 15 mins before we were due to pick the car up and was told there were no problems. We get there and are explained the details of the car and program the bluetooth. We go in to sign the last peices of paper and suddenly the interest rate jumped to 9.44% despite a 726 and 698 credit score for my wife and I. I asked why was I not told this and Fred said that Randy the finance manager would not allow him to. When I said I am not going to sign, Randy changed his tune and said he could to 90% (quote) get that back down. This is all highly dubious. The company gets paid for a loan with a higher rate, that I know. Randy is basically a crook wanting to shove a higher rate of us. Happy Hyundai should be working for you, trust me they are not.I told my neighbor this and he said he had the same problem and I know his scores are a lot higher than mine. I went to WV and they said our scores were fine and sold us a really nice 2.5 SE Jetta at 0.9%.
I would just like to thank you and everyone that helped me when I bought my car. I went to many dealers and they were horrible. Everyone at Happy Hyundai treated me with respect and didn’t try to make me buy a car you guys know I did not want. My family and I have been telling everyone about our wonderful expierence that I had with Happy Hyundai. You can trust that I am a loyal customer and I will always come back, and my family said if they ever want to buy a car they know where to go. If I had never stopped I would still be car shopping. I would like to thank all of you for going above and beyond just to help me get the car I wanted. Everyone at Happy Hyundai treated me like a person and that matters and I wanted to say thank you to all of you. Thank you again.
