I walked in and I knew exactly what I was Looking for. The “salesman ED” walked up. I told him I was Looking for a 2012-or 13 if they had any twelves left of a express van. It was very cold outside and I told him exactly what I was looking for and he proceeded to tell me that that van they did not have on their lot and I could not have. I have shopped at dudley martin and they have gotten me vehicles before from other places.I was pretty sure I knew they did not have it because I needed 10 of the express vans to replace my other work vans for my plumbing buisness. He was one of the most irrogant disrespectful salesman I have ever had. No one should ever buy from this guy. Total JERK-OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to buy a new car, but I haven’t decided which one I’ll buy yet. To help on my decision, I have lately visited several car dealers with the purpose of getting inside the cars I supposedly like, to see how each feels so I can make the right choice on my next purchase.
Saying that, I recently visited Dudley Martin at Sudley Rd in Manassas, VA, with the same purpose. The store was being remodeled and so the sales people were working out of a trailer in the parking lot. My husband and I approached the trailer looking for a sales person, out came Ed. As soon as I started to ask him to open the 1st car that I would like to try, he asked me if I was sure that was the one I like. I replied that in order to make my decision, I would like to “try” some first. Ed again asked me if I was sure that was the car I wanted and offering me (at the same time) other car, bla, bla. When I answered him emphasizing that I would like to try that particular car (for the 3rd time), he finally told me “you mam, better be sure if that is the car you want because I’m not going 16 times to the trailer for the keys, just for you to try all of them”.
I said “well, if you wanna sell something, you better do it…otherwise, go back to the trailer and keep playing your games online” (very upset by them). Ed finalized saying “you have a good one, mam” and me saying “you have the same but doubled” (being ironic).
I couldn’t believe that a simple journey of looking to buy a new car, ended up being a battle between a potential buyer and a stupid sales person who doesn’t know to do just the average job.
I would like to have the manager know about this, perhaps send Ed to have some customer service training… Amazing team if formed by people like Ed!!!
I’ll jump right into it. I took my car in to DUDLEY MARTIN CHEVY ON SUDLEY RD to have a power steering leak checked. . After they inspected it, I was told it was the lines. They were “rusted” & the pump was leaking. I was also told my rear brakes needed adjusted and cleaned. That was news to me being that i just had them done. The car sits for 3 days at a time so they will stick slightly due to rust build up. not a big deal, its fine once you drive. Its VERY normal. Okay fine- its a business and it’s their job to “sell” service…whatever.
Here is where it gets BAD: My quote. This is what they proposed i have done. Mind you my leak was bad . They wanted to replace my pump. ($700!!) They had told me on the phone it was a very minor leak and not the source of my overall leak. Also, replace the lines,adjust the brakes. Ready for this…The total i was quoted… $1,355.00 !!!!
Whoa!! Needless to say i laughed and said,well that’s okay don’t worry about it. I’d like to take it somewhere else. The lady on the phone proceeds to tell me that she’ll have to call me back later because she isn’t sure they can give me the car to drive in that condition. (?) So you’re carjacking me now because I don’t want the service done, lol?
I bought Power steering fluid and filled it up and drove it there. That is the same thing I’ll do when i leave. .
I then looked the parts up on Autozone. For the pump, and the lines were less then $130.00 !!! It ended up being my powersteering cooler! The cooler was bypassed and a section of new line put in with 2 clamps. Grand total: $106.00 !! Labor included and that’s the Power steering fluid i bought to drive it from the shop as well.
* Being new to the area, I was looking for a honest,quality dealership to build a relationship with. I’m in the process of selling this car and buying a new car. This car has been a good car but it was my college car and i ran it to death.
That being said;
It’s safe to say I won’t as much take my cars into DUDLEY MARTIN for even a oil change. Forget about buying a new car from them or have ANY service done there,EVER. I was getting ripped off and instead of gaining a customer for life,they gained a complainer for life.
So now when asked where to take a car for service, I will now simply say where NOT to go. Do NOT go to Dudley Martin chevy in manassas, off sudley rd.

My husband and I have made two purchases at this dealership and we have had great experiences with dealing with Dudley Martin. Staff was eager to please and understood our concerns for keeping our payment low. We were there for about 3 hours and it breezed by because we felt that there was no pressure. We felt very taken care of. Highly recommend!:D
Bought truck around August a few months later the wipers went crazy spewing wiper fluid everywhere until the parked on the side of the road and turned the truck off. Called and informed them and they said that I had just pressed a button! A few weeks later all my lights on my dash went out, could not read anything, no odometer, no gas range, nothing! They said they could replace it but if they broke the dash it would be MY responsibility to replace it! Finally after a while they fixed it and did not break the dash board. NOW my battery keeps dying! They are saying it had NOTHING to do with the electrical issues that have been going on since I bought the junk car! I still have yet to receive my warranty paperwork since they are saying nothing is covered under my warranty I cannot argue since I have no paper work! 😡 WORST sales people I have ever encountered and WORST technicians I have ever encountered, they will not take responsibility for their actions and have an excuse for everything. Never Ever AGAIN will I say anything good about Dudley Martin Chevrolet!
I called to enquire about a refrigerated van, and when told they would have to research the price and call me back, I asked if I could call them as I did not want people calling me about sales, the reply was “DONT BOTHER” followed by the dial tone. I am just glad I found out how bad they were before I made a purchase.
STAY AWAY ITS NOT WORTH IT, there are good dealers out there, this just isn’t one of them.
