The service is completely horrible. These sales thieves greet you entering the dealership, but things will turn for the worst when its time for them to deliver your car in a timely manner. I was made to wait a week to get my vehicle plates and registration. They don’t return phone calls promptly. This is a lousy unprofessional establishment. But don’t take my word for it…the BBB gives city Toyota an F rating. Just Google it!
Jose was great. Unfortunately the tool in finance Sam is a jerk. This dealership is pretty good as long as you don;t have to finance with Sam.
What a waste of my time. After agreeing on the vehicle price and the trade in price, I get sent to the finance guy. He goes and tells me I HAVE to buy the $2500 warranty in order for the deal to go through. He also gave me an attitude about it when I said I didn’t want it. He said he was looking out for my own well being LOL it’s more like he is looking out for his own wallet. Please don’t waste your time and effort here. I guess the people that are happy buying a car here was ok with getting suckered into buying the warranty. AVOID this place!
They price cars way higher said leasing was better then financing ,I had to give my 2007 Dodge Caravan plus $4000 to get a lease to a 2010 Rav 4 not worth it.my payments were $398 a month and my car insurance $367 .i went back n kept calling to exchange for something less and they said no unless Id give another 5000 .cecil put put me way over what I was paying in car and insurance payments .i kept car for 15 months with every payment on time then I had to give in and claim bankruptcy .my credit was damaged and I had to give car back.having to buy another car .when I spoke to the financial area at this dealer in Boston Road the young guy and older man kept talking about clubbing and mentioned moans tits ,they both mentioned two different high prices ,I should’ve known and left then .i left there at almost 11at night they didn’t even wash car .They are all horrible in customer service to the point where their actual clients wouldnt return or recommend them .
I just drove home with my new TOYOTA RAV4,which I purchased at CITY WORLD and is my first car from them and the salesman is Hector Pena he make me feel comfortable about the process we went for a test drive and he did a excellent Job,I was extremely pleased with the deal.I give Hector my highest recommendation,Thank You.
First let me say that I am a super cautious buyer and read both good and bad reviews for the dealership and sales people. Everyone has a different experience. I worked with Devon Lyncook over three weeks to buy a used Honda accord. So, there was no pressure. Devon was patience, professional, courteous and forthcoming in all his dealings. He even gave me a call to see how I am enjoying my car. You definitely get the new car treatment here. The financing options were good and they do not make you feel pressured to buy anything. I would definitely recommend this dealership and specifically Devon Lyncook to anyone who might be in need of a new or used car.
I just drove home with my new Toyota, which I purchased at Cityworld Toyota. I had purchased my previous new car 22 years ago, and was afraid the experience of buying a new car would be very intimidating. Fortunately, my salesman, Fabian, immediately made me feel comfortable about the process. We went for a test drive, and he did an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating all the features of the car. I was extremely pleased with the deal I got, and I would give Fabian, along with the dealership, my highest recommendation.
I first was interested in the CASH for CLUNKERS. After being pressured to buy a NEW car, no other option was presented. After 2 months, I get a call from the dealer stating my loan was not approved I promptly returned the car and was promised a replacement. Glenys Pena, the paper pusher, whatever, was very deceptive. She offered me verbally a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant for 8995.00. The Next day when I inquired about starting the transaction, she told me that I would have to give them a down payment. They had already taken my car and offered me 2500.00 for it. She literally tries to shove a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant that sputters when the engine turns on for 9000.00. After a verbally disagreeing with her, out of now where a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer mysteriously appears. I go check out the car, in mediocre condition, dash lights malfunctioning. After doing the paper work I see the price for the car went up to 11,500.00. Daryl another paper pusher Told me he was playing with the numbers. He was going to apply my TRADE IN VALUE to the inflated price, Talk about ILLEGAL and SHADY. Sharks, deceitful and thiefs is what they all are. On a lighter note, the Salesman Kevin was the only one at City WORLD TOYOTA BRONX trying to help out and answer my questions. I’ve been without a car for TWO WEEKS. Glenys Pena and Daryl ignore my calls and EVEN hide from me at the dealer!!!! NEVER DEAL WITH THIS PEOPLE IF YOU DO BRING A LAWYER, COP MECHANIC and PRIEST!!!
Internet posting of this dealership have no relation to real asking price. I e-mailed and called asking to confirm availability and prices of selected cars. I was assured over the phone by Melanie that prices are correct, and that specifically there is no hidden cost. The car I was about to buy had Internet price of $6.5K. Final asking price turned t be $9K. $2.5K were added in various dealer’s fees by the salesman Cecil and confirmed by his manager. On all arguments they just answered “this is how we do business”. I asked them to come by the new car right there, in the dealership, and demonstrated that there is MSRP price on the sticker plus processing fees below 1K. I asked how come fees for used car are higher (about triple) of the same for new car. “This is how we do business” – they said. Window prices on their used cars are roughly $2000 lower then the prices for new one. This means you might end up paying more for used car then for new one. This is how they do business. Be aware.
I love Toyotas because they are affordable and dependable so I have had one since 2003, it being my only mode of transportation you could understand my frustration, when I was involved in a minor accident from someone running the stop sign. The car was still driveable, you could almost say it was a “cosmetic” fix but i wanted my car to look the way I always keep it, so I decided since I find Toyota’s cars to be dependable then I could also assume their service is as well…WRONG…I took it to their service center down the street from the main sales building..I was greeted fairly by a woman who would be my “advisor” as they put it. She put my information in the computer being it was my first time there and took the estimate I got from my insurance company. After a quick look over of my car and reading the estimate she told me how many days it should take…5 business days at the longest and that she would personally give me updates on the status. I brought it in on a wednesday…TWO weeks later..after repeated calls to this so called advisor…I was given numerous excuses for her absence…vacation, sick, on leave..etc. Until two Wednesdays later I was told she was NO LONGER WITH THEM. No one could have called to let me know that? No one has consideration for the customer? Or the timeline that they were given? Also by this time I had tried to reach out to the service manager “Rommel” and on several different occasions was given the line that he “stepped out” and would be back later. When I finally got a hold of him I was told that my car would be ready today after 3 p.m. It is now 6:48 p.m. Rommel is gone for the day and no one can tell me when my car will be finished. Needless to say when I get my car back…WHENEVER that may be….I will never in my lifetime…bring it to this establishment again…
Rude, ZERO customer Service, Dishonest (I tend to forget I’m working with a “car dealer”), Tried to run circles around me with numbers, tried to sell other vehicles I was not interested in, immense waste of time. I am currently a Toyota owner. I WAS looking to get into another Toyota. We decided to go to the same dealership to see if we will have the same experience as the first time. Worse decision we made. Aside from spending most of my day we left with a bad taste in our mouths after the Finance manager rudely told us that “we wasted our time and we should have left a long time ago”. I feel that I’m a sensible person and was willing to work with them, but after that exchange I was completely turned off. Soon after I left I received a call from the dealership asking me about my experience. I was too upset to discuss and felt it wasn’t the time to express how dissatisfied I was. After realizing that the dealership still had our licenses I had to call them back. The representative (Mariel) that called me to check in on my service spoke with me and said she was going to mail out our licenses. We are now on Day 5 and I guess they decided to use the old method of Pony Express and opted against using USPS. When she had me on the phone she wanted to hear about my visit to the dealership. I told her what happened and she expressed her concern to the way we were treated. She later called me back and told me that she spoke with the general manager (Sean) and because he wanted to keep me as a customer (sine we did business with them before) and he wanted to make good about how I was treated he would honor the deal we were looking to make. We had to really think about giving our business to a dealership that employed a rude finance manager. We decided not to hold a grudge against the dealership because of one person. One of the other managers (Chris) called me and asked if we would come in to the dealership, so we made arrangements to meet even though we live about 25 miles away from the dealership. I expressed how I was only willing to come in to complete the deal that the General Manager (Sean) said he would honor. Another hour and a half later we ended up at the same place we were the first time we left the dealership, only more frustrated. He attempted to work the numbers again (which was confusing to me since the offer was already made). Apparently the General Manager had a lapse of memory of the deal he put on the table byway of Mariel. I asked for Mariel so she could corroborate my conversation and was told she left for the day. After leaving the dealership, I decided to call and ask for her. The lady who answered said that “she stepped away from her desk”. I now feel like I was low-balled, lied to, and made a fool of. It obviously was a ploy to just get us back into the dealership to either get us to “work the numbers again” or get us into another car that we were not remotely interested in. Now we are not sure if we will EVER buy another Toyota again.
