Jeff Nally was fine but the process to purchase the car took over 5 hours , certainly a great deal longer than we anticipated (w/two kids too). We were interested in either a 2008 Highlander Sport or the 2011 Highlander SE. Based on the 0% financing, the 2011 was a better deal, so we evaluated the colors. We decided on the Blizzard Pearl. 2 1/2 hrs in, Jeff informed us that they didn’t have the Highlander SE in Blizzard Pearl and they wouldn’t be able to get one from another lot, b/c it was after 5:00pm. We wanted to buy on this day as it was the last day to take advantage of the 0% finanching option. We were ready to walk, then Jeff offered the Highlander in Blizzard Pearl, but it was the more expensive Limited Edition, which is very nice, but we were trying to reduce our monthly cost, not increase it. Ultimately, we were offered a nice customer discount, a nice trade-in value and they threw in the DVD player, so we purchased the Higlander Limited and it is beautiful! The paperwork took an extremely long time, but once available took little time to complete. The following day, I went back to the dealer and they showed me the features of the car, that was great as the gentleman showed me EVERYTHING in great detail! 🙂
tir county toyota is the most friendliest and honest dealership that I ever walk into.the people there were so nice.especially Phil marez:).he explained everything to us.was honest about everything.didnt hide anything from us.He is great to deal with down to earth and very friendly.I would recommend him to anyone.I called tri county looking to trade in my chevy equinox(which I had a very bad experience with the dealership I got the equinox from) tri county bent over back words to help us.they showed us the service dept and everything in toyota how things work.I like that they are there for the kids to.very kids oriented and friendly.thanks so much phil for evertything and toyota for helping me get a better car for me and my family.I will be spreading the word about yous at toyota.thanks again for everything.I love my toyota corolla:).
This has been building for a long time. I’ve serviced two cars at Tri-County for years. Over time, they’ve morphed their service department into a large operation that is there solely to milk as much money out of you as possible. No thought about long term customer satisfaction or standing behind the product put out by Toyota. In the past I’ve remained loyal as they botched major repairs, recommended service that was inappropriate, and over charged for things. But no more, enough is enough. The service writers that have been there the longest are the worst, and management provides lip service, with no hope of truly changing the operation. Bottom line is that pretty much any other service option would be better. Taking a car to this dealer will cost you a great deal of cash and will probably shorten the life of the vehicle.
The manual transmission on my Corolla failed after 70,000 miles. While this was well outside of the standard warranty, I thought that a transmission should last a lot longer than that, and I wrote to the GM of the dealership to ask if he could help me with the $3,000 cost. (In that letter I also praised two of his employees who had been very helpful to me then and at other times.)
I received no response to that letter. I sent a second letter via certified mail. That was also ignored. I sent two letters to Toyota – USA in California, who also failed to respond.
Had the dealer sent me a form letter that said that he couldn’t help me I wouldn’t have been happy, but I would have understood – I really had no claim. But the lack of any response displayed arrogance and a lack of customer appreciation on the dealer’s part
There is a bright side to this. I sent another letter to Mr. Watanabe, the president of Toyota in Japan. In due course we reached an agreement in which Toyota reimbursed me for about half of the cost of the new transmission.
In my “thank you” letter to Mr. Watanabe I told him that I would probably buy another Toyota product, but never one from Tri-County Toyota.
