My husband and I leased a 2015 RAV4 and were told any mileage under the 36,000 we would receive credit for as an “asset” in the vehicle. I am 3,500 miles under and now they wont honor it. Then we were told (in 2015) that we had maintenance for the “life of our lease”. So, imagine my surprise the last time I brought it for routine service and it cost almost $180.00. Then, I was STILL willing to give them another shot. I was going to lease a 2018 and my mother was going to pay CASH to purchase my 2015 lease. The dealership quotes me approximately $313/mo. That was until they kept changing the price of my lease buyout for my mother and she pulled out of the deal. Then the payment became $540/mo. That’s right, a price difference of $233/mo. Not impressed Toyota. The dealership told me it was “Toyota Financial” that decided that and to call them. So I did, only to have Toyota Financial tell me they “Only discuss new deals with dealerships, not individuals.”
WTF Grappone?? Too many lies.
I’ve bought quite a few cars at quite a few dealerships over the past 50 years and nothing compares to the purchasing experience at Grappone. We worked with Moe for the sales and he was fantastic. No pressure, very accommodating and the most cheerful auto salesman I have ever run into. He is truly a pleasure to work with. He’s one of the rare individuals who gives you the impression that you, the customer, is his first and foremost concern. On the financing end we worked with Nancy who was equally as cheerful, helpful, and accommodating. Also had a bit of business to do with the parts department and service department and it was the same story. The physical facility is huge and equally amazing. If you want a surprisingly pleasant experience buying a new Toyota, Grappone’s the place to go. Make sure you ask for “Moe” – you’ll be more than glad you did!
I knew what car I wanted. I went in with the intent to buy that car if I liked it. I purchase a 2008 Lexus IS250AWD. Beautiful to look at, BUT ….
They didn’t tell me that it was missing a floor mat – just put papers over it so I wouldn’t notice until after I took it home. When I called about it, I was told to go to some after market website and buy new ones!! UM, I’m sorry, I just bought a Lexus! I kind of expect for it to have floor mats. They said “they’ll look into it” but no promises. Hail, hail for superior customer service! Ugh. I purchased my last car from Berlin City. It was delivered with no head rests. They ordered me brand new ones and had them sent straight to my house – with an apology!
I then realized 2 days later (today)that I didn’t get a copy of the quote from the bank in my paperwork or the quote they gave me stating that my final price was $1000 less than the “internet price” – so of course, I can’t prove they gave me that price at all. Very sneaky! Yes, it was my fault that I didn’t read it more closely, but to find out that I in fact did NOT get the discounted price, AND, they plopped the “pay off” for my trade in, onto my loan, frankly, it pisses me off!!! Again, my fault for not reading it more thoroughly before signing, but it’s disgusting to think that I go into a dealership, I’m upfront and honest, and they turn around and lie to me and do whatever they can to get every dime of my money. What happened to integrity? If I wanted to buy a new car AND pay off my other one, I would have just bought another car and kept my old one!!!! I’m so disgusted. Tomorrow is my third day of having the car. I have that amount of time to bring it back. I’m seriously thinking I am going to do just that.
Sorry for the long post but I am not impressed. I will deal with Berlin City going forward – probably starting tomorrow when I get my refund! Do not buy from these people. You will regret it too.

I have recently spoken with Justin Webber concerning my “issues”. He did a wonderful job explaining everything and took all of my suggestions as an opportunity to improve. He was very, very helpful and honest and has assisted in making my experience with Grappone, one with a happy ending.
He purchased new floor mats and explained a lot more about the financing – which I didn’t agree with all of it (but now better understand it!), but again, he took that information as a tool to understand what concerns some customers may have.
If you decide to work with Grappone (in which I take back my previous “DO NOT buy from them” statement), I would suggest working with Justin, as he really does have the customers best interest at heart and will work with you every step of the way!
I would certainly work with them again going forward! Thank you again Justin.
I purchased a vehicle from this dealership and now I regret it. It seems that depends on who you deal with; you get different responses, or promises. The sales manager was very aggressive, indifferent to my concerns about the vehicle, and he didn’t even honor what the first sales manager told me a day before. I guess they don’t work as a team. They don’t care about safety concerns I brought to their attention and their response was you don’t like the car, don’t buy it. My response was I like the car , I am going to buy it since I drove 60 miles to get here, at least do the courtesy of addressing these basic issues( tires leaking , missing tire jack , detailing car…) . Once they heard I like the car, they wouldn’t even listen to anything I say/ask. My friend asked me about them but didn’t recommend at all. The customer service of Mike (Internet Sales Manager) was horrible. I never saw such a cold, insulting and demeaning behavior of a person in a customer service/ sales role in my life. This guy is awful. Do not deal with him.
I wish they lived up to the old men “Grappone” reputation and honored his legacy by offering a decent , a decent not an outstanding customer service.
Do not deal with them … Don’t get lured in by low prices. Spend an extra $1000 somewhere else and have the peace of mind.
WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IT WAS SMOOTH HAD SOME PAINT ISSUES WITH MINOR DINGS THEY DID BODY WORK HAD IT FOR A WHILE BUT WE WERE GIVEN LOANER NO BIG DEAL WAS ALSO CERTIFIED ALSO PURCHASED EX WARRANTY. THEN HEADLIGHTS DIDNT WORK SO WE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES (SERVICE) AND WAS TOLD OH IT IS THE HEAD LGT BULB OR FUSE.
SO WE HAD THAT CHECKED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SEE VEH. FOR A WEEK I COULDNTDRIVE AROUND WITH NO LIGHTS. THEN I CALLED THEM BACK AND TOLD THEM THE BULBS AND ALL WERE NOT FINE FINALLY A WEEK LATER THEY GOT THE CAR IN -WIRE HARNESS AND ELEC. HAD TO BE REPLACED TOOK WEEKS FOR THEM TO GET ALL TOGETHER. GET IT BACK AND FRONT SEATS HAVE STAINS AND STEERING COLUMN GRINDS CALLED AGAIN TO SEE IF WE COULD GET ISSUES RESOLVED THEY TOOK IT AGAIN WELL I WAS TOLD THAT GROPPONE TOYOTA HAS NO RECON DEPT THAT I WOULD HAVE TO GET SEATS CLEANED AND THE STEERING IS GRINDING SO I GUESS THAT WAS A WASTE OF MY TIME. 😡
Brought my wife’s Camry in after experiencing sudden unintended acceleration. They said there was no problem with the car, they wouldn’t fix anything, and then charged us $90 to get it back jsut for looking at it. Do not do business with these people.
Oops, I should probably spell my own last night correctly!
