Don’t Ever buy a car a Daytona Toyota! They don’t care about costumer service, they just care about sales! I went there because I want to buy a brand new car white or black with full leather but at that time they have a white one without the leather, They said that they don’t have any available but that they have a white one that they can ordered the leather and they said “do not worry it would looks just like the full leather one” and after I signed the papers, they told me to bring the car for the installation in a week and that is what I did but when they gave me my car back only the seats had leather! No center console, no doors so now my car looks like a circus with all the different colors and the manager “Matt” just told me “oh sorry, the sells guy made a mistake” and he left like it was my mistake. So now I have to find a place to put leather in the rest of the parts and of course I have to pay for that!
Now also I received a call from the auto finance company about the car I traded in because they did not receive yet the full payment from them and if I did not do the payment it will show a negative on me credit score.
service is horrible, make you feel stupid, deny anything is wrong with your car, jake up the price after quoted one given, unethical in sale practices, etc, etc, have seen their business practices decline in the last two years, gone to hell in a hand basket , will never buy another care there again, have been a loyal customer for over 1o years, sold my son a car, only one key, sales person promised to cal with in three days to get another key, have been jaked around and bounced from one person to another for a year now, still no key, sales person has never returned our calls.
I brought a camery and paid more money then the Internet price. They pressure you by asking . What monthly price you paid . Then make you sign. The paper by saying this what you agree to.The kep you there forever.
This is about their service department:
Ok, the reality of the situation is the service department is very poor. Yea, when you buy a car your told how great it is, how you’ll get loaner cars, and quick responses, and “customer care”. With regards to my situation, this is not the case. I’ve brought my prius in three times now for the same problem. Each time, I’ve had to wait over a week for a loaner car. Each time it comes back with the same problem (which is, nothing lights up car won’t start after you turn it off). First repair consisted of a computer reset. That didn’t do anything… broke down again. Second time they said it was the key fob…broke down again. Then they said that even though the 12v battery tests good, thats the problem. So, $240 later, it breaks down on the side of the road again.
During this time I called the dealership to tell them that every time I put it in park the “low key” light comes on. Jackie, a service rep, tells me, “we will document your issue.” Of course, that’s when she decides to call me back. Now, I am waiting, once again, for there to be a loaner car available so I can bring my prius back in to have another diagnostic test performed.
You would think that when there is a chronic issue with a vehicle and your service department is having difficulty in the diagnosis, that customer care would be brought to the forefront. For instance, come get the vehicle; tow the vehicle to the service department; have loaner cars available. See, when you live 45 minutes from the dealership you kinda rely on good service to help you when you have a problem. Yes, we could get the vehicle there but if they want to keep it for a couple days, offer to bring me home! Do something! I don’t expect a dealership to necessarily treat their customers like royality, but taking 4 days off work to drive to the service department over the course of a month is more burdensome than you think.
You can buy a vehicle from anywhere. What makes one dealership stand out over another is their service after the sale. Sure, oil changes and tire rotations are great, but when it comes to a real issue, I want a dealership that can step up and deliver on that service promise.
I BOUGHT A PRE-OWNED 2008 FORD EXPEDITION FROM DAYTONA TOYOTA AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME I NOTICED THE WHEEL WAS SHAKING. WITHIN TWELVE HOURS OF THE PURCHASE, I CALLED THE USED CAR SALES MANAGER TO COMPLAIN AND HE PROMISED TO EFFECT A REPAIR. WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE FRONT RIMS OF THE TRUCK WERE BENT. THE MANAGER REFUSED TO ORDER THE REPAIRS AND COUNTERED THAT I HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE AND CAME BACK TO TELL THE DEALERSHIP LIES. WHAT A CHEAP MANAGER! MY ADVISE TO PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS OF THIS DEALERSHIP: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY AND PROBABLY SOME TRIPS TO THE COURTHOUSE, PLEASE DON’T BUY VEHICLES FROM DAYTONA TOYOTA. THEY ARE DUBIOUS AND EXTREMELY FRAUDULENT.
I would recommend being very cautious if buying a used vehicle from this dealership. We were on vacation and dropped by the dealership looking for a used van. We purchased a 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited with 59,700+ miles. Upon returning to Virginia we took it to our Toyota dealership to be inspected. The transmission fluid was black, the after market filter was filthy, the cabin filter was filthy and the BG system had corrosion (this was told to us by our service dept.). They are very proud of their “checklist”, but to my way of thinking they left a lot undone. They don’t return calls; when you do accidently reach someone you’re told it’s someone else’s responsibility and even the General Manager, Brian, doesn’t return calls.
My opinion of Daytona Toyota is nothing short of WORLD CLASS! I inquired about a vehicle on the internet and totally expected to be treated like a women, but was very surprised how on the ball they were. My inquiry was answered quickly by the internet director named Kevin. He was very knowledgable and answered all of my questions 100% to my satisfaction without any of the pressure I expected. We made a deal that day and right from the time I entered the dealership I felt very welcomed. The paperwork was done quickly and the best part was the salesperson named Ryan was very good at explaining all the options for my new car. Spending all the money on a new car is a tough decision these days, but these folks made the whole thing very enjoyable. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to buy a car!
I really wonder how the owner of Daytona Toyota; Gib Dannehower is able to allow managers to give out illegal advice. Gib’s Sales Manager Andrew Tabaku actually told my X husband to walk away from a lease agreement and let the bank deal with it. Andy forgot to mention that the bank would still come back on the X husband and myself for the remainder of the lease. Andy was also not even going to contact me and I was the main lease holder. I have already contacted the bank and report Daytona Toyota for this illegal advice.
The banks and our economy is already and trouble and Mr. Dannehower is OK with his manager and sales staff telling people to walk away so that more banks are in trouble.
The really sad part about all this is, in the past I have purchased or leased 4 vehicles from this dealership. I will never purchases a 5th. By the way my X got a brand new vehicle at Gary Yoemans Ford for cheaper payments and it was done legally.
I found a Toyota Sienna at Orlando Toyota for $26,000. I figured I would like to spend my money locally so I went to Daytona Toyota to see what they could do. Showed them the sheet from the web site and they said they would match it or come close.
BS….They came back with a price of $31,500. Unless my calculator is broken that is $5.5k more. Then they wanted me to commit to a sale.
I told them they had to come down on the price and they said in so many words…..”NO” They made up excuses that the Orlando dealer had a bunch of add on costs that would up the price. I called the Orlando dealer and they said they had a bunch of the Sienna vans in stock at that price and they would honor it. See ya later Daytona Toyota. I will be spending my money in Orlando.
QUESTION NUMBER 3 IN THIS EVALUATION…’SERVICE TECH HONESTY’AND MY POINT TO BE MADE WITH MY COMPLAINT.
MY SON TOOK HIS TOYATO TO DAYTONA TOYATO FOR A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. A COUPLE DAYS LATER MY SONS CAR WAS TOWED DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT FROM HIS APARTMENT BUILDING COMPLEX. THE PARKING PERMIT HAD BEEN REMOVED ALONG WITH THE OLD OIL CHANGE STICKER. THEY WERE SIDE BY SIDE. MY SON HAD TO PAY $125.00 TO GET HIS CAR FROM THE TOW COMPANY. QUESTIONING TOYATO DAYTONA WHY THEY TOOK HIS PARKING PERMIT STICKER AND ASKING TO BE REIMBURSED WAS ANSWERED WITH ‘THE SERVICE TECH DOESN’T REMEMBER DOING THIS’. WELL, THE STICKER WAS THERE WHEN MY SON TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE OIL CHANGE AND IT WASNT THERE AFTER!
MY OPINION:
OBVIOUSLY DAYTONA TOYOTA EMPLOYS DISHONEST PEOPLE. MY SONS PARKING PERMIT WAS TAKEN AND DAYTONA TOYATO HAS TO ASK US IF WE THINK THE TECH IS HONEST.
MY OPINION, FROM THE ANSWER GIVEN TO ME TODAY, THE DAYTONA TOYATO OPERATION IS CORRUPT.
WHO KNOWS, MAYBE THE SERVICE TECH THAT REMOVED THE PARKING PERMIT STICKER WORKS FOR THE TOW COMPANY AT NIGHT??????
A tree fell on my car (mostly on the front of it) and they said it wasn’t too busy and they could have it done within a week. It took like 3x as long as they promised and they did a bad job. Also we went back (stupid) to have some work done and our car (was even working when we took it in!) broke down the next day. We were driving through Melbourne when it happened and stopped there and WOW! it was soo much nicer! with internet and work stations! Daytona Toyota is like a really dirty bad awful cheap airport terminal… The others are like first class. I’ll go to Deland or heck, drive all the way to Melbourne before i ever go to awful daytona again!
I cannot set my review to one star. it is insisting it be 3 stars. but one star is what i think of them
Dealer was very businesslike and efficient and considerate of the Customer’s time. No sleazy tactics or tricks were used. Every promise made was kept. All paperwork was done accurately the first time; title and registration were timely received. Car was delivered in impeccable condition.
The Salesmen, Mark Ingles was great!! Very open and honest.. The problem was his sales Manager MIKE.. This guy was your typical CON MAN.. He needs to be fired!! With an agreement with the Salesman that I did not want to play the sales game, I requested his lowest out the door price… He was fine with that until his sales manager Mike got involved.. He quoted a real high price with my trade then when questioned started the typical slick willy mombo jumbo.. Finally he droped the price (After much back and forth) 2 thousand dollars.. There is no honor in this sales manager… STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
We just bought a car from Daytona Toyota. The salesmen and manager from the new car area were surprisingly fantastic. They were not pushy at all even though I am a hard to please. They were willing to do anything to make us happy. They gave us a great deal on a slightly used Toyota. I would go back there and recommend anyone I know.
