Please don’t buy from this place. They are morally corrupt. They took huge advantage of my 20 year old daughter and her Grandfather. My Dad bought my daughter her first car while visiting for Christmas. The car has run one full week during buying it and to date.Granted it was but as is.But to take advantage of her the way they did is wrong. The money she has sunk into repairs is staggering. And we still do not have a title for it.I tried to plead with them to give us the money back. There solution was to belittle us for buying a cheap car.Ludicris.
We got into the dealership needed a car to go to and from work, and he was able to show us exactly the perfect cars for us. He was very humorous, tried to answer all our questions, very charismatic, and helped us to pick the car we needed. Going into to do the paperwork the staff was very considerate, even was kind to our four children. He made the paperwork very easy and it took hardly no time to get it done and the price for the car was really good. It was one of the easiest car shopping that I have ever experienced. We drove the car from Portland Oregon to The Dalles, and she runs beautifully. Our new 99 Passat VW is perfect for us. It was a really good experience even if we were having to spend money.
SO FAR MY WIFE AND I ARE SATISFIED WITH OUR PURCHASE.I GOT IN AND OUT IN DECENT TIME, DESPITE HOW BUSY IT WAS THAT SUNDAY.
Affordable Auto Wholesale was a terrible experience overall. Run down vehicles. Bad financing. Terrible customer service overall.
We purchased a Green Isuzu Rodeo from Affordable Auto Wholesale dealership on 82nd Ave in Portland, OR. The following day we took it to our mechanic and was informed that the car was a LEMON. It had been in an accident and that the body was bent. When we were on our way back to the dealership the transmission went out. Be advised that we had only driven the car less than 30 miles. When we took the car back, the owner told us that it wasn’t policy to take back returns. When my husband told the owner that he was a police, they changed their tune quickly. We were unable to get our money back and returned the car and got a dakota truck. The Isuzu was in bad shape and a danger to anyone. They gave us grief and we waited 5 hours to do the exchange. The sad part was that the next day we saw a young girl driving the Isuzu onto the freeway. They ended up putting the damaged vehicle back onto the lot and sold it to another poor individual. This company is not about the customer but about the all mighty buck. The owner should be ashamed of himself, and I can tell you that I would never recommend a used car dealer again!
PLEASE READ, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OR MINORITY: Yes, they seem nice at first. It’s Family owned right? They are soo kind and helpful and understanding BEFORE you sign the paperwork. They told me everything I wanted to hear, and made promises they had no intention of keeping. The salesman and the owner’s daughter (Angela) both reassured me numerous times that their vehicles had been inspected by a mechanic for safety – that safety was their priority. Taya told me that “as is” doesn’t apply to safety matters and I could count on them if anything went wrong. The vehicle I bought BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY HOME. I called the next morning and the owner John Hill yelled at me saying that it drove fine on the test drive. After freaking out on him he finally agreed to take it to his mechanic. He refused to let me take it to mine. THE BRAKES WENT OUT TWO WEEKS after their mechanic assured me all was repaired and the vehicle was now safe. My daughter was in the car with me – thank God we were not hurt, but it was close. They have blamed me and kept my money though this has all transpired in less than a month.
They have 31 Oregon Department of Justice Complaints, 30+ complaints on the Better Business Bureau website, many, many more on various sites like Citysearch, Google, Yelp, PissedoffConsumer, and on & on. Countless trusting consumers have been screwed over by them, and been sold DANGEROUS vehicles – don’t be the next!. Clearly none of them have a conscience or integrity as they have been doing this for YEARS. I have an attorney now, and will update this post as soon as all is resolved.
DONOT!!! BUY FROM THEM! They are scams !!! They lie !!! I bought a car from them and then right away it started giving me problems! That I HAD TO PAY!!! There was so many stuff wrong with the car ! Which I Spent Like 4000 fixing the damm car ! Plusi still had the 8000 dollar debt! They refused to tell me about ! This is just a bad place !.with bad cars ! Don’t fall for it !
I have bought a car from this dealership before and if you are looking for a short term car to re establish credit this isn’t a bad place, but if you are looking for a quality vehicle at a fair price that is going to last a few years you might want to shop around. My experience has been that all cars on this lot have something broken which would indicate that their standards of quality aren’t real good and because they deal mainly with credit challenged people it seems that they have the attitude that beggars can’t be choosers.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!!! They sold me a truck with “low miles” and a clean interior… BUT… the lights have never worked properly and they installed the wrong switch which I still haven’t got replaced nearly a year later. I put new tires on and noticed after a few months the front tires wearing on the inside. Figured it just needed alignment, but nope. All upper and lower ball joints were crushed. Mechanic called it a deathtrap driving like that. Starter died today so I took it in to be replaced and mechanic called and said that the only bolts in the transmission bellhousing was the one holding the starter in. These guys sold me a severely mechanically dangerous and deficient vehicle that is now costing me thousands of dollars to repair. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM AFFORDABLE AUTO…PERIOD.
Bonnie did a great job.
She was thorough , honest and provided service with a smile.
I would recommend Bonnie to others looking for a car.
I will come back in the future when needing another car or truck.
Sincerely,
Steve M.
Dave, was real professonial and honest in the way he dealt. He provided the carfax we requested and inflated tires as asked.. Would defeinately come back. Al Prante
I went in and purchased a vehicle two weeks ago from Troy, which I was specifically told by Troy there were no issues with it when I asked and that it was ‘cherry’…though the GPS screen would not come on, he assured me that it was ‘just a fuse’ and they just hadn’t replaced it yet. When the spare tire thing was full of water, he assured me the trunk wasn’t closed properly when they washed it and that was the reason (yeah, right, that was sooooooo not the reason!)…here we are two weeks later, come to find out the cruise control is out, the horn doesn’t work, the dash instruments are out, the GPS components are missing out of the car, AND I have a head gasket that is no good-right now, I can only drive the car 5 miles each way to work before all the coolant runs out…I called them several times in the past week or so to report this and have received no phone calls back…the only thing Emmet will discuss with me is the GPS disc, and that is ONLY if he picks up the phone when I call, because he won’t return my calls. Emmet admitted to me that Troy had only been there for a month and didn’t always know what he was talking about when selling vehicles. All I want is to trade this car for a different one on the lot…they sold me a lemon, with things they advertised that are not even in working condition…a head gasket is a HUGE deal on a car I just paid $8000 for that they assured me was sound. I understand the car was ‘as-is’ when I bought it, but I believe they also lied to my face when asked about the condition of the car. I just want them to make this right. I was also lied to by Troy about the warranty that was purchased on the vehicle. He told me it covered absolutely EVERYTHING since it was a luxury car, and was 3 years 36000 miles—come to find out, it is only 2 years 24000 miles and powertrain only…I was lied to by this dealership. I want them to make it right…they NEED to make it right. I should not be stuck with an $8000 vehicle that was a piece of crap when they sold it to me, and they KNOW that it was!!!!!

My son-in-law, my daughter, and my self went to affordable auto wholesale and they way they treated was a joke. We meet with a salesperson named myles and when he greeted us he seemed pretty nice and we told them what my kids wanted. Well we had to leave for awhile and when we left we were told he would have a few suvs for us to look at. Well when we got back that is when all hell broke lose. They would only show us one suv but my son-in-law told him he wanted to look at another and myles was not thrilled but he did let us look at it. Well it really started once the paperwork took the most time. Well we told them they could only put down $400 but wanted $500 dollars down. Well it took them almost three hours to get the paperwork done which should have not taken that long. Well when almost the paperwork was done the manager wanted to know who their commanding officer was and their and their rank. Well my daughter and son-in-law had told myles that they had not checked in yet to their base. Also they were asked if they were going to ask if they were going to be deployed for a year and my son in law told them no. Well I had to get to work so I left and when I got home i called my daughter to see when they were going to be done. Well it took them almost two extra hours to get the rest of the paperwork. Well one of the we also found out that they could finance someone who was a e6 in the military. My whole experience with affordable was a joken.NEVER NEVER GO THERE.:(
This car dealership was the easiest I have ever experieced. They were friendly and had very low pressure to buy. The paper work went fast and easy with no hassles. I would buy from this car lot again. The previous car I bought before this the paper work took hours and we were in and out of this car lot in under an hour thats with a trade in and all. I would recommend affordable auto wholesale to anyone that is looking to buy a vehicle:)
