On April 13th, 2011 we were on our way to San Antonio for an Air Force BMT graduation and had a major mechanical problem with our vehicle. We went to Bluebonnet Ford and met with salesman Neil Bligh and told him our vehicle needs. We found a 2009 Mazda 6 and decided to purchase the vehicle. The car has the Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry & Start System and they key fob appeared to be expensive. I asked Neil if there was another key and he stated, several times, that there was another with the title paperwork. After we signed the order, we were informed that they couldn’t find the title paperwork or additional key but would find it as soon as possible and get it to us. We went back to the dealership on the 15th of April for some follow up paperwork and were again told that they couldn’t find the paperwork and key but they would get it to us as soon as they found it. After we arrived home in Kansas, the salesman called a couple of time asking about the title for the trade in that they had. When I received the title from my state DMV, I spent $20 to overnight the title to them so the salesman could get his bonus money for the month. I was promised to be reimbursed for the overnight postage, but didn’t receive it. After 3 weeks with no satisfactory answers about the key and title paperwork, I started to fill out a consumer complaint form with the Texas DMV. On the 6th of May, 2011 I sent an email to the finance manager and he called me within minutes. He said he wasn’t aware of the problems we were having and he’d check with the salesman and get back with me. After two hours the salesman called and told me that they still couldn’t find the additional key or paperwork and that they were under no obligation to provide two keys. I told him that he had told me there was another one and that I was shocked that they weren’t going to honor this statement. He said that he’d talk to his sales manager and see if there was enough profit in the deal on the car to see if there was anything they could do. When we purchased the car, we bought all the add ons that they tack onto the deal including extended warranty, tire warranty, and credit insurance. So, I’m sure there is enough profit in the deal. He called back 1 hour later and stated that his sales manager was “pissed” at him for telling me that there was another key and that there was nothing else the dealership was going to do to honor this verbal agreement. He then said that he was sorry but that was it. I honored all statements that I said that I would do.
