I did e-mail Jimmie Hendricks at Acura of Pleasanton for price on 2014 ACURA RLX SPORT HYBRID SH-AWD. He never e-mail the price for the car I was asking. Wonder how the guy that signs his paycheck feel about that. It is for sure strange place.
This is one of the worse dealer I ever experienced.
Just after he introduce himself, this guy (jim) start to keep asking me whether I would like to buy a car “today” and just give me the MRSP price for that. I showed him the truecar price he told me it was nonsense and he can only give me something several (not even specify how many)hundred above invoice price. I told him that I could not make a decision today, he started to tell me “whatelse can I do for you except give you a price?”
Later on I got a costco price at Autowest Acura dealer with 500 lower than invoice and with 2 years free service. — at the first quote with them.
Stay away from this dealer!
The locks stop working on my car that is a 2005 but only has 38,000 miles on it. It still unlocks but won’t lock. I called to get this checked out and of course, i missed my warranty date by 24 days. She said I could open a claim with Acura but that it would cost $150 no matter what just to run a test. I can already tell them what is wrong with my car. But they said they still have to run the test to make sure and I have to pay for it. From there Acura may decide that they might cover some or all of the repair work. Too bad I won’t know until it’s too late and I’ll probably end up owing them hundreds of dollars. This sucks, i really just need an estimate of what this will cost, not the run around.
I had the horrible experience of visiting this dealership for a friend of mine… I am a proud owner of Acura and believe in the brand very much and hence was totally taken by surprise that something like this could come up at an Acura dealership!
We made an appointment to test drive a 2008 model car and then dropped by the dealership to then wrap up the deal… When we reached the dealership for the appointment, the store had already been closed and the people at the store had NO clue of who set up the appointment and other details. We went thru the whole grind of churning all information one more time and luckily managed to get the car we wanted to test drive.
Test drive went thru fine and then negotiated on the price and after a series of back and forth discussions, settled on a price and started with the paper work…. 45 minutes into the deal while we were under the impression that we are almost done, the manager drops by all of sudden and tells us that we CANNOT proceed with this deal because the price they quoted was actually NOT for the car that we drove… the price quote they had provided was for a 2006 model TL.
At this point not only was i shocked to witness such a thing happen, i was also thrown off considering the attitude and guts of these guys working at pleasanton acura to do such a gruelling act on a customer after spending a good 2 hours working towards wrapping up a deal.
At an age and time when businesses go the extra extra mile to win a customer, it took me quite some time to grasp the fact that i was here at a dealership that absolutely did not understand the importance or manner in which they should deal with a customer!
Pros:
Close to 580 highway
No other Acura dealerships in pleasanton
Cons:
Absolutely NO Ethics in business practice
Different employees will give u a different answer
Information provided keeps changing every minute
DO NOT stick to the commitments they make in the first place
I had a great experience with this dealership. I did not end up purchasing because I was waiting to find out if my vehicle would be totalled or not and it was not so I kept it. But if I did purchase a vehicle, it would have been from Jaclyn at Acura of Pleasanton. She was very helpful and considerate of what I was looking to accomplish. She was NOT a sales person, but part of a department who helps gather up information to send over to a sales person….I found this to be very helpful. I would reccomend Acura of Pleasanton, and if your lucky you might get Jaclyn on the phone, very pleasant young lady.
We have been trying to negotiate for a 2008 Acura based on a quoted price from cars.com: of 27,900 (additional information below)
Once we started talking to the dealership they quoted 31,900 for the same car and said we would only be able to negotiate if we went in to talk to them in person and only after test driving the car. We have already explained that we live over 4 hours away, and we're just looking to purchase at this point. We have been e-mailed by now 5 different sales managers, financing managers, etc. and after this last communication is it very obvious that they do not want our business.
We have been in contact with over 5 Acura dealerships in the area and by far this was the most unprofessional and disappointing experience.

I was going in for a minor service. The service representative that took care of me was, Shannon Bailey. The first thing she did was checking the car and when she came back, she told me that she noticed the dashboard was faded a bit with some white stuff. Then, she asked if I would give permission for them to take off the coating and resurface it back to its original shinny condition since it is under warranty. I was really impressed with that because I have had other cars and have not met a Service rep that would do that willingly.
The other thing she did which is really good was she asked if there is any concern on the car that they can take care of today on top of the maintenance service I requested. I wasn’t planning for any repair but after she asked me, it got me to think a bit and I remembered hearing some noise from the back of the car while braking. So, I reported that. I didn’t think it was a big problem but she was very helpful to help me putting that in and have a technician road tested the car with me. Though, the noise wasn’t very noticeable but the technician agreed to check that out for me.
Overall, I would say this is one of my best experience with Dealer car service. So far, I have had 2 great car service experience with Car Dealer and both of them were with Shannon Bailey from Acura of Pleasanton. I would definitely recommending to get your service done there if you own an Acura.
Calling in to get an appointment did not go smoothly. Called hourly from 8AM until 10 AM left two voicemails since there was not a live person available to take the call.
Finally called a service rep I knew from a previous service call, and was given a time that same day. Dropping the car off was smooth, they pointed out that my headlights needed buffing which a service I didn’t know existed. The original reason for the visit was a Check Engine Light. This all took place at 6PM on a Thursday.
No word on the car at 4:45PM the following day so I called in. Everyone busy, but a live person said someone would call me back (original service rep was on holiday). Long story short, when the back up rep finally connected with me, it was obvious the car had not been touched. Called back in an hour said I had a leak in my tank fill funnel, car should be OK to drive, no discussion on price to make it right, she agreed to waive the diagnostic fee. I asked to have the headlights buffed out, said no problem, it would be done on Saturday.
At 1:45 PM on Saturday, no word on when it would be ready, I called in. A receptionist said someone would call me back. No one called back, I called in again, got the same receptionist who apologized, put me on hold, and eventually came back and said it was ready.
Came by to pick the car up, it’s pouring down rain. Paid the cashier, while the service rep said she would have it brought around. Waited 20 minutes outside, no car. Hunted down the General Manager who was out, expressed my concern to the assistant mgr who gave me the GM’s card and the service rep’s card. Waited another 10 minutes, and then loudly demanded my keys.
Keys were given to me, went out in the rain, found my card and left.
Sent an email to the GM outlining my concern around seeing the Acura brand so maltreated. Sent it return receipt, know he got it, zero response.
So long as you are willing to do your own legwork and push the car through their system, the actual mechanical work might be OK. I expected something better from an Acura facility which these folks were unable to provide.
