I bought a high-mileage Maxima here in 2011 and was surprised at how many repair issues were missed/undisclosed by both the dealership and the independent shop that did the inspection.
3-6 months after buying the car I had to replace the badly grooved rotors on all four hubs, the power steering pump hose (not cheap) and the front axle boots had disintegrated and the axle ends at the hub were being damaged from sand, salt and road debris. I had to replace both damaged axle ends and boots. These were all problems that would have existed when the car was at WN, and should have been caught by both the dealership and the independent shop during inspection. I suspected, but couldn’t prove, that the dealership contacted the shop and, possibly, offered a kickback for a positive inspection. I know a great deal about cars and mechanics and ANY dealer or independent mechanic worth his salt would have caught these obvious problems. Do not buy a used vehicle from Wayzata Nissan.
I took my Nissan for a engine light; after the guy who received me, came back with the bad news and told me pretty much, my almost new car need a new engine, and he give me a non smart answer. I question if he knew how many valves a 4 cylinder engine have? and he did not knew that. That’s basic. I walk out and I will do 2 thinks;
I will never purchase another Nissan and of course I will never come back to this place who will get your wallet if they think you are a foul or you must be if you think they making you a favor.
Tom was extremely helpful! Even though we ended up changing our inital vehicle interest from a van to a car, which is a lesser price point, Tom promptly took care of the questions we had in regards to the vehicle and didn’t treat us differently. Additionally when the vehicle I was driving to the dealership had battery troubles, Tom, personally drove my son and myself to my husband’s work so we’d get home safely. The only issue we had was getting questions answered regarding the cost of tax/title/license, which is not his department. If going to Wayzata Nissan, find Tom!
I have been so pleased with the treatment I have received from Steve Tursso at Wayzata Nissan. I have dealt with him since I have started going there, probably about 2-3 years ago. Steve always treats me special, he is very personable, knowledgeable and makes each visit fit into their schedule, so I don’t have to wait unusually long. The service to my Rogue has been A+ from him and the staff there. I will continue to service my car there. A big Thank You to Steve.
For a car purchase my overall experience was very positive! They put a fair price on the vehicle to start off with and my salesperson seemed genuinely interested in my needs. I would definitely recommend them to friends of family
I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. I recently purchased a used car at a pretty good price. I thought it was a good deal. TWO days after purchasing, the engine light came on. After getting the car inspected it turns out that the engine and transmission are both bad. The extended warranty that they sold me does not even cover the damages until after 90 days. (read the fine print)The staff started ignoring my phone calls and refused to return the car. I will NEVER do business with this dealership again!
Purchased a Murano from them 2 years ago and had an AMAZING experience. Went to buy an Altima from them in June 2012. Was quoted one price through email several times. Repeatedly asked for something in writing so I could get my financing ready. They refused until I put down a $500 deposit. Paid it over the phone with a c/c and get an email that afternoon stating that the price was only good if I financed through Nissan! I was enraged. They didn’t tell me that BEFORE and they KNEW we were financing through our bank. They said they would refund my $500 and it would take approximately 7 business days. By the 11th business day still no refund. Emailed Cameron and Nick (the manager) and got no response. Called them and the receptionist supposedly took a message, but still haven’t heard back. Will be filing fraud charges with my c/c company soon and complaining to the BBB among other agencies. DO NOT DEAL WITH WAYZATA NISSAN! They are frauds and scam artists!! Totally dishonest and impossible to get ahold of. Lesson learned!
I opened an email I received from Wayzata Nissan and HOLY COW!!!!
Two Phone calls a day for a week and even after I politely asked to stop they continued calling except now from a Blocked number. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay
too much. I think these people apply too much pressure and can only imagine
how horrible the “Buying experience” would be. Or I can just read all the
negative reviews and figure it out myself. BUY YOUR NISSAN FROM ANY WHERE ELSE BUT WAYZATA NISSAN. Thank you!
Nissan wayzata is dishonest, unethical and sloppy with paperwork. My relative traded her car to them; they sold it and never transferred the title. A criminal bought it. As a result, my relative was bothered by police several times until they finally went to Nissan Wayzata who admitted they did not ever complete the title transfer. Another relative bought a lemon and did not want it several days later; they refuse to take the car back even though they failed to complete all the proper paperwork and said the tradein was already sold. Saw another complaint like this on the internet. You would think they would not want practices like that to get out. Whatever you do, do not ever buy anything from this dealership;they are slippery and dishonest in every way. They do not complete proper paperwork causing many problems for everyone. I noticed many complaints online with similar problems related to their sloppy practices. Eventually, their reputation will be known everywhere. Treating people this way is inexcusable.
Kurt was great to deal with. We weren’t pressured at all. Straight nuts and bolts talk. We said we wanted to drive other vehicles at other dealerships and he said ‘Great – hope you come back.’ Did our research so we knew what we thought was a fair price. Never had to haggle. Kurt has followed up to make sure we were happy and didn’t have questions. All good – very happy. Juke is a blast.
I had a great buying experience there. When I arrived on Saturday to look at the vehicle they were a little busy and a had to wait a few minutes before being helped. I really like the salesperson I worked with . He had been there 14 years and I didn’t feel very pressured to make a quick decision. I test drove the vehicle and received my information and left without buying. I came back Monday to purchase the vehicle. This is was a very easy transaction and I would recommend them to all!!
My friend found this car on Wayzata Nissan website. This Rendezvous seemed like a great vehicle. We looked all day and ran into others and fell in love. The only difference Wayzata had was 20,000mil. The gauge on their car was not working and they refused to fix it ($600 fix). They said they would fix the noise the tire made (big deal). We wanted to trade in our car which has some dings and bruises and put cash down. They looked up the background on our car and apparently it had been in 2 car accidents (minor). Our car has ran great and we have been on top of it anytime something has gone wrong. Nissan tried to offer me $500 for it!! Are you CRAZY!! Kelley Blue Book is $1500. We just wanted to straight buy this car. Then we tried to ask to just finance and not trade and see what kind of deal we could get. They NEVER looked up my credit and said “we probably wouldn’t finance you”. The manager (not personable staying in the back office ease-dropping) said he wouldn’t work on the price and that he “just yesterday dropped the price to $5900”. So wanting us to pay $5900 with a gauge not working (again$600). This place is unbelievable. They would have had a sale and decided that we were not good enough to buy this out right. When we returned home we were looking on craigslist. And what did we find??? YES, their posting for this car on 9.4.2011. For how much??? $5900!! Wait…I thought you said you “JUST dropped the pricing YESTERDAY”!!!! The manager is a lair and the salesman was VERY UN-knowledgeable on anything we asked. This was a waste of time and gas. They say people drive from all over the world to come here….This maybe so but they are probably VERY unhappy. I recommend doing your homework on any vehicle you try to buy from them. They lie and have no customer service skills. Well Monday morning we are going to go purchase the exact same vehicle. Just 20,000 more miles. Should have bit the miles from the getgo….DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
FYI kbb was $1500 TRADE-IN value.
We were promised a particular car price and on the same day when reviewing the financing they did not stick to our particular finance terms. we asked that they only run 0% options but the dealer continued to pressure us to take a higher percentage. We declined 5 times before this was over.
I brought my wife to co-sign on the loan knowing and understanding our finance situation. The finance team member Chris and Trisha said that she wasn’t needed. Two weeks later we get a call that now we do need her to sign. we had to drive way down to the dealer again for our appointment. When we got there we were not greeted and we asked many people before Hassan said he would help. Hassan got trisha’s attention and slid his two potential customers in for a sale before we could take care of our post sale issue. it was a greedy move and we ended up waiting an hour and 45 min. before the issue was resolved.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY!!!!
I mainly worked with Rick over internet sales. I was interested in purchasing an 2011 Altima. He was always very quick with his responses and was willing to work with the price in a very flexible manner. I always felt like my questions were answered on time and thoroughly. I decided not to buy a car right now but I will definitely purchase a future vehicle from them. Other reviewer on this site mentioned that the salesperson was dishonest, maybe he made a mistake. I had a good shopping experience and I would definitely buy a car from Rick at Wayzata Nissan.
Didn’t find out until recently that my car had been in an accident, despite the dealer showing me the carfax report at the dealership. Hint of advice, make sure it’s the same car because I pulled up the carfax again, and lo and behold, there’s an accident on there. Dennis used a different car, same make and model, with a clean report to show me at the dealer, which is complete BS. Also, they don’t like to work with you if you bring in your own financing. I’m sure they’d have been much more helpful had I financed through them, but obviously they weren’t. Overall the car purchased works great, and I did my internet research beforehand on the kind of car I wanted anyway, but the experience with the dealer wasn’t very good. I’d stay away from here unless you really look deep into what you’re buying and do it on your own, not through the dealer, cause they’ll flat out deceive you to get the deal done.
Bring a pillow and possibly a sleeping bag.
I made an appointment for a 12:00 oil change and arrived at 11:50. It was told it would take roughly 15 minutes so I was expecting to be out of there at 12:15 (my decision to show up early). I was still there at 1:10 and I only rec’d my car at that point because I asked if it was done. It did take some storming around by the service person to get someone to pull it out of the shop. Yikes! How professional!
They apologized and gave me a free oil change … great!! I have to go back there to use it … not so great.
The car is great but the dealership is not. First sales guy was horrible so asked to deal with someone else. Second guy was better – I left with a great car but wish I would have purchased elsewhere. I was given incorrect information and now that the sales guy has left (been fired?), Wayzata Nissan won’t stand behind what he promised. They apologized for what he told me but explained that he was no longer with them. Not sure how that is my problem however, they have turned it into my problem. I didn’t have a good feeling when visiting the dealership – crowded and busy; customers seemed to be ‘lost’.
I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. Nissan is a great car but there ARE better and more honest dealers … move on! Buying a car should be a great experience!
I had spent a lot of time shopping around for the right car, and finally settled on a Nissan Altima. I set up a deal with Morrie’s Nissan in Brooklyn Park, but when I came to pick up the car I waited for 4-5 hours, and they didn’t have the car I was promised. The car should have cost about $470/m at the price I was quoted, yet their “best” monthly payment offer was $530, so I walked out. 😡
I almost bought a Toyota, but when that fell through I decided to try another Nissan dealer. Wayzata Nissan was great to work with, very friendly and helpful. I explained my situation to the sales manager, who examined my quote, and after about 20 minutes was able to offer me the car at $467/m. I spent a few hours at the dealership since my car had just come off the truck, but overall the experience was quick, painless, no-hassle, and positive. 😀
Oh, and the Altima drives great.
The salesman was pushy, and I was not completely satisfied. However, after being to so many dealerships in the area, I was exhausted with all the haggling and negotiating. In the end, I don’t think these guys were that bad. They gave me a pretty good deal on a 2010 vehicle, even if it was not the color or model I wanted.
What a change of pace, A car dealer that cares!. I had the best car buying experience I have ever had, Wayzata Nissan’s staff was so nice & helpful. I will be recommending them to all my friends and family!:)
My experience was very positive. I worked on the internet with John. He gave me a very good price. I looked elsewhere for about a week, and did not find a better offer. Although I couldn’t negotiate any lower, I was driving it off in a few hours. If you need a fancy showroom and lots of hand holding you might not be impressed. But they get the job done. Do your research, keep your eyes open and you will get a good deal at Wayzata Nissan.
You can sum up the staff at Wayzata Nissan in one word- exceptional! We were thrilled with the level of service we received on our car. We thought the work we needed done was going to cost us thousands of dollars but they repaired our car for much less than we expected and in addition to that, offered friendly and honest service. We would highly recommend them to all of our friends and family! Thanks! -Ron & Jen Morris
I went to Wayzata Nissan because the gas gage broke on my car. Luckily I bought an extended warranty when I bought my car there so Nissan paid for the repair. I was happy and Steve was nice!:p;):D
Walked in, Test Drove, Approved, Signed…all within an hour!
I live in Maple Plain and bought a nissan about 2 years ago. Last week the air conditioner wasn’t working right. I brought it to Wayzata Nissan and they knew the problem within a half hour. They ordered the part, fixed it and it cost less than I thought it would.:)
We shopped for an Infiniti M35 at Wayzata Nissan because they had about 20 in stock. The salesperson was fine. I rated price 4 out of 5 stars because they wouldn’t negotiate. They said their price was cheaper than everyone else online. We were preapproved at our credit union but the finance department gave us a better interest rate so we financed at the dealership. Overall we are happy with our purchase since they had a huge selection, the lowest price and a lower interest rate than our own bank!
I bought my vehicle from Wayzata Nissan in 2004 and I’ve been going there for maintenance ever since. Last week the cd player broke on my Quest. Wayzata Nissan fixed it and my extended warranty paid for it.:D
I’ve never had such a poor experience at a car dealership. My wife and I were ready to buy a car last weekend, but no one at the dealership even gave us the time of day. Arnold, the used car manager, didn’t even come out to talk to me after I had him paged. He was in his office. I looked right at him. What a terrible place.
Great service & staff! I will be recomending them to all my friends!
Great service with a smile! They answered my questions, did a great job repairing my car. And even drove me to the mall & picked me back up when it was done!:)
I had gone in to have my pathfinder looked at, it was making a loud clunking noise coming from the left front tire area. My factory warranty had just ran out and it turns out that the noise was a broken tie rod bolt. The mechanic was nice and diagnosed the problem quickly. The service manager gave me a discount on the labor so that the repair was a reasonable price. Being a woman, I have had shops try to take advantage of me before, I was pleasantly surprised by the honesty and integrity of this dealership. I will be recommending them to all my friends!
Had a great buying experience! Alex was friendly and knowledgable, in helping me purchase my “new” car. I have been to alot of dealerships and most salespeople are pushy. I was given the time to make my own decision to purchase. Most of all the whole staff was nice & easy to deal with.
The deal all started with a Internet add with a great price on a slightly used car. one year old with 18k miles. I stopped to see the car and test drive it. Nice car except for a couple door dings on the rear quarter. I asked for a trade value and was given a low ball number 20% less than kbb trade value. I gave an offer and was refused and they would not budge. Said they were below kbb on their car (they were) and they would not go any lower. See ya later, I was gone That was on a Friday. Then I looked on line Monday and they had lowered the price $1k. Funny how one business day will change things. Now this was a great price for a car they were having trouble moving because of a manual transmission. So I returned to see Tom and said I would take the car if they would fix the dents (less that a $100 with a paint-less dent guy) They again refused and he started telling me that I was a fool not to take the deal. Then he said he wanted to earn my business! BY DOING WHAT? Nothing except insulting me and being confrontational from the start. Would have been happy to charge me an extra $1000 day earlier. Now he wants me to buy a near $30k car and have it look like crap with dents in it! He would not even try and ask the manager! Way to earn my business Tom! Finally I said I was leaving. The car was at a great price or I would have left within minutes of getting there. He called back a few hours later and said that the manager had decided to give in and fix the dents. I sold my car myself within an hour for 20+% more than their offer. Told Tom I would be in on Sat. to pick up the car. Called him again on Sat. morning, had to leave a message, called again at 11am left message, then he called me and left a message, asked if I was coming to come and get the car. I called back and was again put into voice mail. I called back and said I need to talk to him. Finally he answered and said he had the car ready. I show up at 3pm and guess what? Car was not ready and finacing had all the wrong numbers because Tom told him I was trading my car. If he would just call back and ask me what my intensions were, all could have been avoided. Took an hour plus waiting. This was one of the worst experiances buying a big ticket item in my life! Wayzata Nissan may be a fine dealer, but Tom is killing the place. https://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/icons/icon13.gif
I have been bringing my Nissans here for years! Like the family shop down the road. I have had impecable treatment from the folks at Wayzata Nissan. I recommend them to everyone that I know for sales & service. 🙂
I purchased a used 2008 SL AWD Rogue from Wayzata Nissan this summer. When I heard a rumbling noise at low speeds, I took it in to the service department. They had my car for one day and then told me that the “issue is to do with the transmission and Nissan does not have a fix for this. You will need to wait until a recall or until enough people complain.” I was frustrated and thought they should be able to do something. So, I took it in to them again. When I drove into the service garage, the manager again met me and said, “There is nothing that can be done. We have replaced transmissions and they still have this problem. You will have to wait until enough people complain that Nissan gets this fixed.”
After two months and my frustration with this annoying noise, I decided to call the nearby Morrie’s Nissan Service Center in Brooklyn Park. The gentleman I spoke to was very familiar with this sound. He asked me to bring my car in and they would have a service tech drive with me to listen and confirm what the issue was. Once identified, they would order the part and have it fixed at no cost to me.
I took my car into Morrie’s Nissan and the tech drove out of the service garage and made one turn and heard the noise and knew exactly what it was. They are ordering the part and will have it fixed next week.
Morrie’s Nissan’s Service department is not lazy and is working to satisfy the customers who have purchased their model of cars. I will always recommend Morrie’s over Wayzata Nissan any day.
I brought my car in to Wayzata Nissan from a Nissan dealership in Brooklyn Park. I was very frustrated that Morries Nissan had charged me a lot of money and could not get the problem fixed after two weeks. Wayzata Nissan had the vehicles fixed the same day and I have not had a problem since. I would stronly recomend them.
:mad:When I first purchased my vechicle I got it home and it would not start. I took it back on a forced day off and they said the new key they cut for me was not programmed right with the original key and that is what was causing the problems. They fixed that part of it but no apologies we issued for having to come in. This is where Tom Rusch and Wayzata Nissan really showed their true colors. They could have cared less. This would not have even had to happen if the car had two keys with it from the start. By the way they charged me $45.00 for the extra key. It also had no keyless entry with it either. He notified me of this after we purchased the car. The car was also missing the driver floor mat. He told me that it did not come with one. I asked him to find me one, I did not even care about the color. He said he had some for me. He finally called me back a week later said that he could not get them for me but I could purchase a set. You would think when you buy a car they could have 2 keys that work, floor mats, and somekind of service. I received none of this from this dealership and will never go back. I do not even want them to work on my car. By far the worst experince ever. Find another dealership.
dropped the car off on monday to get scratched painted, was told it would be done friday. called on friday and they said it would be ready monday. this daily calling and delay continued more many days until thursday, now i am told it is actually ready. horribly slow and no communication. will go to morries next time to see if it is a nissan thing or just here.
