Mr. Johnny Delk, General Manager
University Chevrolet
1850 Capital Circle NE
Tallahassee, FL 32308
Dear Mr. Delk,
My name is XXXXXX and today is my 20th birthday. Unfortunately I cannot celebrate; instead I am shelling out over $1,300 to a repair shop because of your dishonest business practices, and sketchy warranties. I have been taken advantage of by University Chevrolet, and because of your sly and shady contracts, I have no other recourse other than to send this letter with my opinion of you.
Being raised here in Tallahassee, I am a true country girl and proud of it. To my delight, I found the truck of my dreams at your dealership, and purchased a 2006 GMC. The salesman Luke, was very nice during the whole process and verbally promised my Daddy to take good care of me, as I wanted to do this on my own, and prove to my parents that I am an adult.
I can still remember the way I felt as I drove my truck home to show it off to my parents and brother. I was so proud! I immediately took them for a ride and smiled the whole time, thinking I had done something good.
Exactly 2 days later, the check engine light came on. I was devastated. How could this be happening? This is my dream truck; it’s brand new to me! I took it to Auto Zone and had them test it out. The unit showed that the issue was the nox sensor. I called your dealership and they immediately told me it’s not covered and there was nothing they could do. I was so shocked! There was no concern at all on your end, just the answer no. Of course my Dad would not let this go, he called and complained and after 2 days of pleading and by the way never getting a phone call back after leaving numerous messages and having to finally speak with the used car service manager, you reluctantly agreed and repaired the issue. I thought that was the end of it, and I was glad to get on with my life.
2 weeks later, the truck started making the most horrible noise in the front tire. I was told not to drive it, but to have it towed to check it out. My mechanic just shook his head and explained that not only did the hub assembly need replacing, but the rear axle and seals needed attention as well, and that fluids were dripping onto the brake systems, that it was VERY dangerous….a total of $1,300.
Your dealership HAD to know about all of these issues, and yet you kept them from me and lied to me and my Dad about this vehicle. You knew it needed lots of work, and you deliberately sold it to me with false statements.
Face Book will be a great tool for me to share my story and make sure that none of my friends and family ever purchase a vehicle from your dealership. You and your team should be ashamed of yourselves. You have lost trust from my entire family. Ironically, my parents are in the process of shopping for a new truck, and in light of this situation, they will not be coming to see you, and you can bet that I never will either.
Dissatisfied, Disgusted and Completely Disappointed
