My wife called them on 29 Sep and explained that one cylinder was not firing in the car, and that we really needed to get it fixed quickly as it was the car that our son drove to work every day. She was given a 0930 appointment on 30 Sep. I dropped the car off at 0845 on the 30th. Joe took the info as to the symptom and said he’d give me a call later on after they had looked at it. My wife called them again at about 1630 on the 30th and Joe told her that they had not had time to look at it yet. Then he explained to her that he had told “the guy that dropped the car off” that morning that it would take 2 or 3 days to look at it, and that I had said fine. No such conversation ever took place, and I should know since I was the “guy” that dropped it off. I called Joe back immediately and told him what my wife had told me. I asked him if he had told the guy that dropped it off that it would take 2 or 3 days, and he said yes. Then I told him that I was the guy that had dropped it off and that he had never even mentioned anything like that to me. He just got kind of quiet and then said that maybe I had misunderstood what he had said, or not heard him correctly. I told him that I know what we had talked about, because it was comprised of only a few sentences, and that no time limit at all had even been mentioned. I told him that I did not appreciate him lying to my wife or to me, and told him that if they are to busy to work on vehicles that they least they could do would be to be honest about it. The 2 or 3 days would not have been as bad if they had really mentioned that up front, instead of just trying to pull something by blowing our car off and slipping the “quick fix” jobs in before it, or whatever they were doing. He said that he would look at it “first thing in the morning”, as they were getting ready to close for the day. Ya, I’ll believe that only if they really call us in the morning. To top it off, we had taken my wife’s VUE in to that same dealer to have some work done on it a few months ago and ran in to the same type of situation. They had told us to bring it in at 0800 and they would look at it, and come that afternoon they had still not even looked at it. That vehicle also took 2 days to have the work done on it. I don’t know what their problem is, but I’m definetly looking around for another Saturn dealer, or just another mechanic some place else to work on our vehicles in the future. One that is NOT trying to put something over on us all the time. One that is honest with us, which this Saturn Dealer Maintenance guy Joe is obviously NOT.
