Bought a 2001 VW Jetta from Roberts for my daughter.I knew the sales manager personally (he has since died) and I told the two of them that the car was for my daughter and she would be driving from Connecticut to Rhode Island and beck and that I did not want to buy a car that would possibly be a problem. They assured me it was a sound vehicle and we did the deal. What a LEMON. More problems than I could imagine. I’m never going back to this place. Pass on this place.
Excellent service and I would definitely recommend to people
I knew the car I was going to get when I walked in which I admit is a mistake in car buying but I had talked to someone a few months back and he apparently retired. I walked in at 1115. Salesman said that he was with a customer and would be done in 5-10 minutes. I waited 45 minutes. They would give me 5600 for my trade in so I said I wasn’t trading it in. I will probably get atleast 7500 for it and he discouraged me in doing so. Their credit card machine didn’t work so the salesman drove me to my house to get my checkbook. When I originally asked if I can take my new car to my house, he laughed and never even asked management if I would be able to do that. When we got back, I had to wait another 20 minutes for the finance manager. We were at the 4 hour mark at this point but I figured I would stick it out since it can’t be that much longer. When I left the finance guys office, I asked him to make a copy of my proof of insurance from state farm. I had to have Vinny go get my copy for me. I waited 4 minutes for that. The last thing was Vinny asked me how much gas was in my car. I said 75% in a dissappointed tone. He said, wow, that is good, they usually only give people a half tank. No free oil change and no full tank of gas which is what I have been offered with every other car I have purchased. I called the dealership and asked for a gas card because I wouldn’t want the free oil change that was already offered to me from Vinny. Apparently that is blackmail because I told him I would take down my 2 conversations on Facebook telling everyone about my experience. I want to make sure that they don’t sell another car to anyone that I know.
I find it amazing that the salesman would actually drive you to your house to get a checkbook. That is customer service. I also would not let you drive a new car home, say you weren’t approved for financing… thats extra miles on that car that the dealer eats. Looks like your sales man was positive regarding the gas…. technically if the dealership would only put in 1/2 tank you are lucky to get more. You also contradicted yourself. YOu said no free olk change and no full tank of gas, but then said you called for a gas card as you didn’t want the free oil change offered to you by Vinny. you need to quit complaining. I have bought a car from Vinny and it was a wonderful experience, better than I have ever had at any other dealership. Seems like your the type of person that is never happy with anything. Lastly, you are clearly the type of person who wants everyone to serve you immediately…. If the sales man took a bit longer than you expected I look at that as him providing great customer service to the customer WHO WAS THERE BEFORE YOU. I would never expect a salesman to DROP their current customer just because I ARRIVED ON SITE! You seem like a very self centered person Sad!
He told me I will never get a 2008 Avenger for 17,500. Will I did from Gengras in East Hartford,Ct.Executive Dodge and Holley are no better. Gengras is a very large dealer. I bought my car from Darren. Roberts did nothing but discourage me.
