On 12/10/2013 I purchased a 2013 Honda CRV. I was in an unfortunate position where my previous car had a serious transmission issue and I made the choice to purchase a new car as a result. The sales rep that worked with me was pleasant, however, once the car deal was made and I was sent off with the finance manager, I never saw the sales rep again. I completed the financing process with the finance manager and was told to wait in the waiting area until my new Honda CRV was ready to take home. This wait lasted a few hours at which point I was walked to my new Honda, ready to take home, but noticed that…
a. I was not given any of the paperwork that I signed (i.e. Purchase and Sale, Financing agreement, etc.).
b. The new Honda did not have an inspection sticker on it.
When I had questioned why there wasn’t an inspection sticker on the vehicle, I was told that the service department was really busy and that I would have to come back another day to get my inspection sticker. I told the employee that I had already been waiting at the dealership this long that I would wait to get the inspection sticker as I was unable to get another day where I would be able to come in. I waited in the waiting area for 2 hours to finally get my new Honda CRV, that I had just purchased with their dealership to get inspected. In addition to that, I had also mentioned to the woman that I had never received any copies of the documents that I signed as it related to both the purchase and the financing of the vehicle. Not to mention the other documents around the extra warrantee that I purchased that included the Lojack system that was installed in my vehicle and that my insurance company is requiring that I provide to them before they will give me my premium discount. The woman stated that she would notify Jameel (Finance Mgr) so that can be provided with these documents.
As I states previously, I waited 2 hours to get my new vehicle inspected and was sent on my way…still with no signed documents. On 12/11/12, I had left a voicemail with Jameel, the finance Manager that I had dealt with stating that I never had received copies of the documents for my new CRV and to return my phone call so that I can arrange a way to obtain these documents. I never received a return call from Jameel. On 12/12/12, I had called to speak with Jameel again and was forwarded on to his voicemail. I called the dealership back without leaving Jameel a voicemail and requested that Jameel be paged. I ended up speaking with Jameel to which he replied that he had gotten my voicemail, but hadn’t had the time to get back to me because it had been really busy. He stated that he would mail out the documents to me. I had asked if the documents were going in the mail that day and he said that he was not sure, as they were really busy and that he would try to get them out by Friday 12/14/12.
It is 12/20/12 and I have yet to receive the promised documents, which means I will be driving to the dealership to obtain these.
My complaint is around the horrible customer service that I received at Honda North in Danvers MA. Although, the staff were polite and courteous, I felt that business practices and disorganization made for a very unpleasant customer experience. When a customer makes a significant purchase like buying a vehicle, I do not think it is too much to expect that they are handled as if they are a priority and that their business is valued. At the very least, I expected to receive copies of the signed documents around the purchase of my new vehicle. Honda North of Danvers made me feel as though, once the sale was completed, they could care less about me as a consumer. I will not be doing any business with Honda North ever again and I will make sure that I share that sentiment with anyone that I come across.
