I brought my 2016 Nissan altima under full warranty here because my CVT was acting up. They finished the car in a few days and told me it was ready for pick up. I picked up my car and noticed it was pulling slightly left on my way home. They had done an alignment with the trans service. When I got home I looked at the car and noticed my back right tire was filthy and scraped. I immediately called the dealer and told them about it. The service advisor sam didn’t even question me or ask for pictures just said that they would take care of it. I found this quite odd because it seemed like they knew and were trying to see if I would notice.
They also did an oil change on my car without asking me which I did less than 1000 miles ago with FULL SYNTHETIC oil and they put conventional blend oil in it. When I got there the following Tuesday he told me the tire was dirty because they put a new tire on it. The tech smashed my wheel so hard into a curb or guardrail that it destroyed the tire. So they just changed the tire left the damaged wheel and hoped I wouldn’t notice! I asked why no one told me it was in an accident and they just said sorry we didn’t know. They offered to refinish the wheel. I told them about the pulling and since my other tires had 21K+ miles on them they were worn much more than this brand new back right which would make the car pull left. I told them you need to change the tires in pairs on the same axle due to this.
They agreed to give me a new tire on the back left to match the new one on the back right. Then 45 mins later they told me my wheel was ready. I couldn’t believe they repaired the wheel so quickly. I went to see the rim and it looked like someone put putty and spray painted it. I said I am sorry I can’t accept this. I will need a new wheel. Sam said he had to ask a manager. Then they said they approved it like did me a favor after smashing my car and TRYING TO HIDE IT FROM ME. I was looking at my car up on a lift the back LEFT wheel was off and there were 3 guys putting on a new tire on it.
The next day I went to pick up the car and inspect the work. New wheel and tire on the back right. Went to check the new tire on the back left and the wheel was DESTROYED! It has more damage on this back left wheel than the back right that they smashed into a guardrail. I was calm up until this point to give them the chance to make things right because accidents happen. But I blew up. I started to yell how could this happen?! Sam proceeded to completely disrespect me saying they ALREADY DID TOO MUCH FOR ME. And that the damage was already there. The tire has fresh metal silver shavings from being curbed TODAY. I just saw the car less than 24 hours ago and we measured all the tires TOGETHER and saw all the rims were perfect. He continued say there is no way they did it and won’t do anything about it and that I had to take my paperwork and leave. He kept saying they didnt touch the wheel. I saw them putting the tire on the day before WITH SAM. Flat out lies.
I called the police to file a police report for this damage. And have called Nissan corporate as well to get them to be held responsible. I can’t believe that they first smashed my wheel and tire and TRIED TO DECEPTIVELY HIDE IT HOPING I WOULDN’T NOTICE by changing the tire and not telling me. And then when replacing it damaged the other wheel EVEN WORSE in less than 24 hours. Then they acted and stated that they went above and beyond to fix my car that THEY damaged. This is absolute insanity. I should listened to all their bad reviews before I brought my car there. They have a ton of fake good reviews up to help bury the real bad ones. They even offer people money to take these reviews down. I want them to replace these wheels they keep damaging. How is it possible to damage a wheel while repairing another wheel you smashed? This dealership needs to be shut down or nissan corporate needs to step in.
You need to contact the attorney general’s office. They are more useful since nissan is signed up with BBB.
I posted this review when this happen to me 2 month ago I want to keep sharing this because I want to protect the costumers, they abuse you verbally when you try to fight for your rights, documents disappear, please never go to this place in your life, they said they have 100% satisfaction I want to said the NO is missed is 100% NO satisfaction.
Worst place ever, if you want to be respect never go to this place, they discriminate people, they verbally abuse you if you want to ask questions, they hide information just to make you sign a contract that is just working for them stealing money on your face , is unbelievable how they treat people, they are scams, please go away, hopefully you can read my review before they do this to you.
This is what happen to me
I arrived to the aforementioned Dealer to change our Nissan Pathfinder 2015 for an Armada, I had a discount of $9000 that I obtained from TrueCar, the sale person went over my car and when Ramon Davis (the sale Person name) and the sale manager (?) came back they mentioned to me that the price of my car was $14 000 and my debt was $26 666 and with this said they mentioned to us that the only choice will be re-finance but I had to pay $1000 to move forward, nothing else was explain to us except the Low APR and the Monthly payment ($40 less than before), nobody mentioned at that time that my Nissan with a value of $ 14000 will be now changing the price to $34 456 ( information that was hide from us when we sign this documents), we refinanced our Nissan Pathfinder 2015 in this dealership at a total cost of $ 34 456 ( information that never was disclose to us during the process) .
Unfortunately, during the sale and financial process a lot of vital information was not disclosed and discuss making this contract invalid, we have recently learned that the amount of money that we have to pay for this process is more than $10 000 (maybe the fee of this Dealer) when I call the dealer asking for the contract the sale Rep. verbally assaulted me and hang off the phone with out any explanation, I went to the dealer to pick up my contract and was hide it for 2 hours when we said we want it then magically appear. in other words the worst experience that I I ever had.
por favor no vayan a este lugar ellos esconden informacion para que firmes el contrato y luego te tratan como basura nunca pasen por este lugar ellos discriminan y mienten para lograr sus objetivos.
It was a total disappointment at the Route 46 Nissan. I negotiated for a price of 19K as per the True Car certificate I got from my company’s corporate perks website and I expected the sales and finance managers there to be truthful and singed the lease, only to realize later that the actual price on the lease was 23K. I was so pressured in to the deal stating I would be getting the best deal ever and I was kept there for total 6 hours and that was one other reason to miss every fine detail. I contacted the sales and finance managers on the very next business day hoping that they would help me at least cancel the lease or do something about the rebate I should be getting. They basically said “Go and drive your car”.
An example to the kind of shady deals they make with customers is that, Finance manager forced me to take gap insurance which by default is included in all Nissan infinity leases. When I asked about the same on the next day (because I wasn’t aware of it at the time of taking lease, neither was I informed) they said it’s “Gap Wrap”!!!. Why would I take wrap when the GAP already exists!!
I filed a complaint with better business bureau. Looking at the latest complaints there seems I am not the only one ripped off like this.

These guys are Criminals and scammers. Despite what they say, no one forces you to buy a car. In my experience I couldn’t tolerate their bs story and dancing around the numbers. So I simply told them off and they had threatened me with the police to come, and I said bring the police all you want I would gladly tell them the actual story. I raised my voice so all of the customers would hear me. These guys are ridiculous trying to tell me that I’m getting a good deal thinking that I don’t know how to do math. The car would have costed me 3k more than it was worth!
Be aware of how this dealership is cheating you to make purchase, Route 46 Nissan Dealership located in 440 US-46, Totowa, NJ 07512 ( http://www.route46nissan.com ). This is how I got cheated by sales manager called Bernard Bertsch.
Basically he showed me ‘MSRP WINDOW STICKER PRICE’ at the beginning and later after a few negociations, showed me much discounted ‘FINAL PRICE’ that I actually thought I am getting very good deal and decided to purchase…
“BUT FIRST, BE AWARE OF THIS, your ‘MSRP WINDOW STICKER PRICE’ does ALREADY include ‘DESTINATION FEE, APP $900’. THERFORE this ‘FINAL PRICE’ that you agreed to pay should include this destination fee automatically!!!”
I didn’t know this from the begining that ‘MSRP WINDOW STICKER PRICE’ already included ‘DESTINATION FEE’, so when the finance person showed me contract paper showing ‘DESTINATION FEE’ in ADDITION to my ‘FINAL PRICE’ (which is supposed to include destination fee already), I signed paper and got out, but found this at home from actual copy of window sticker paper that shows destination fee included…
Basically this sales manager DECEIVED customer by offerring ‘MSRP’ (that already included destination fee $900) down to discounted ‘FINAL PRICE’ where he deceitfully removed destination fee (app $900) ‘without telling customer’, so that it looks like he is offering at much lower price ( at least destination fee app $900 less) and make you think you are getting great deal and decide to purchase…
And if you don’t know that ‘MSRP’ does include already ‘DESTINATION FEE’, just like me, then as mentioned above, even when finance person shows you contract paper showing ‘DESTINATION FEE’ in ADDITION to ‘FINAL PRICE’ (which is supposed to include destination fee already), you ended up signing it and find it out afterwards you got cheated from sales person…
To me, this is cheating, fraud, scam, not ethical way of doing business at all. So I am trying to give you warning about this dealership and help you to avoid situation where I have been through…(I have requested a few times to fix this problem and compensate that destination fee that they cheated on me, but they didn’t even blink an eye because I already signed…).

This dealership commmits fraud and should be closed down by the state attorney general. They advertise low prices for used cars on the internet, however, when you get to the delaership, the salesman raises the price 40% and tells you that the internet sales price is only for people who qualify. I went to the dealership Tuesday to help my niece buy a car. He told her that she would qualify if she was a recent college graduate. Since she is not a recent college garduate, she must pay 30% more plus an extra $2,000.00 for various “fees”. I began to argue with the salesman and sales mangager, accusing them of fraud. I threatened to report them to the attorney general office. In response to my loud complaints, they agreed to sell the car for the advertised price. They also agreed to reduce the car transportation fee from $982 to $550. My neice received a good deal after 30 minutes of loud, nasty argument. Only go to this place if you ready to do verbal battle against a bunch of liars and crooks.
terrible ,
so many lies!
Let me start out by saying that if you know how to calculate how much a car will cost you at the end of finance then you will agree numbers do not lie. If you are one that just looks at monthly payments and how low they are then most likely you will give a good rating to these lying classless scumbags. I walked in this dealership with an excel driven car payment calculator. Yes I did because I don’t want to get screwed over. This a-hole try to tell me he was giving a good deal on a trade in and took my credit card and keys from me. After countless insults telling me that he never dealt with a math guy, and yea I do hold a ba in math., he tried telling me that he can get a lower interest rate and monthly payments but didn’t want to hear me when I asked what about the extra months I have to pay I’d be losing 1300 in the long run. So he said ” I have a wife and 3 houses and I don’t wanna waste my time… Good luck on everything ” I told him ” I don’t need luck … I just know numbers aren’t the ones lying.” what a tool this guy is. I got my keys walked away and will probably call the BBB. no manners lack of professionalism and overall trashy human being.
You need to contact the attorney general’s office. They are more useful since nissan is signed up with BBB.
Doesn’t that mean more money out of my pocket?
went nissan 46 totowa to purchase a car, turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. The place is a misleading bunch off scumbags and thieves stay far away as possible.
We saw a used car on the Internet that we liked. Called before hand to make sure they had the car. Made us wait about 30 minutes to test drive the car but we had to leave and we came back. Then we finally got to drive the car. We decided we wanted to buy the car and they did not honor the Internet price. They wanted $3000 more! Stay far away from this dealership. This was a scam! Do not buy from this place!
Found a used vehicle on the internet that looked promising. Called and was told it was still available. We indicated that we would come in to see the vehicle the next day. Within a few hours, someone called to confirm that we were coming. When we got to the dealership, no one greeted us – we had to approach a salesman for assistance. We asked for either of the two people we spoke with on the phone and were told that they don’t come down to talk to customers – they just handle phones. The salesman, Edwin, went to find the car. 20 minutes later came back and told us that it was being test driven by another customer and that it would be another “2 minutes”. He left and came back 25 minutes later and said they were just finishing up and he would have the car for us to look at. 15 minutes later, we walked out without seeing Edwin (or another salesman) again.
On the positive side, we went to Hawthorne Nissan and were treated with courtesy and respect. We did buy a car from Hawthorne (3 employees at Hawthorne left Rt46 within the past month).
i had very bad experence . never ever go back there again . i will not recomend this delair ship to any one . be alert or u will be rob . punch of liers.
Roman is the rudest, poorest excuse for a human being to walk the face of the earth. He does not know how to talk to be and is a disgrace to the sales/ customer service profession.
I saw a car in their inventory that I liked and talked to Rick Torres. After agreeing on a price, we went to sign the papers. Rick added in an extra $750 and charged me 1% higher finance rate than I had came in with. Rick’s sales tactics are despicable. He took advantage of my family and then wouldn’t return our calls. I would recommend avoiding Rick and Route 46 Nissan since no one else will help us after the sale is made.
I went in for maintenance then got lured into getting another car. My trade-in was way below than what was 1st said to me. These people are liars and scammers!! DO NOT go to this dealer!! If i had known or had time to do some search, i wouldn’t have made the mistake of getting a car from them.
You will end up paying way more than what’s advertised online or even what you see on the cars. A sales rep even ripped off the price off the paper that was taped onto the window of the car just so I wouldn’t see it.
I didn’t choose any stars because they don’t deserve any!!
Why are they still in business?
People, please report them to the General Attorney Office & to BBB!!
The biggest bunch of liars and con-men you will ever meet. Run, do not walk, away from this place.
After visting this dealership I felt compelled to write this review. My salesman was very pushy and the manner in which he conducted himself during our test drive and in the showroom taking personal phone calls once our sale was completed giving me the wrong key making me go back and forth while he sat there on the phone…..Made me ask for a return on my deposit…I would NOT recommed this dealership what so ever!!!! Please if you value your wallet and want to be treated with respect go ELSE WHERE!
They sold a 2007 Nissan Maurano with clean paper work, I asked for a car fax which they provided as very clean! My mechanic told this car was involved in an accident when doing oil change! I ran a car fax and found a major accident the car was involved in! went back to the dealer and manager (Michael) says THAT’S HOW WE MAKE OUR MONEY!
The most unscrupulous group of salespeople! Every bad stereotype about car dealers can be found at Rte 46 Nissan…con-men all.
We went to the dealership on July 23, 2010 to negotate a lease price on a 2010 Nissan Maxima. We left the dealerhip with a price that we said we will think about and get back to them. Durring dinner that night we decide that we will go with that dealership and that price.
I called the salesperson back and told him that we will be in after 1pm on the 24th to sign the deal. He replied that will be fine.
We arrived at the dealership on the 24th at 1:30pm to sign the deal and drop off the deposit. An hour later we were greeted by the General Manager who informed us that HE changed HIS mind and that if we wanted the car it would cost us more money.
They dragged us down to play the old Bait and Switch game… DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP. I am not working with Nissan World in Denville that will honor the deal that Nissan 46 would not.
I
I purchased a new Nissan Sentra from this dealer.
My sales person was Roman Villanueva. It was the best buying experience
I have ever had.Mr.Roman was very honest, helpful, knowledgeable and professional, going out of his way to help us.
Once again,great Customer Service!
I would highly recommend any City Resident to strongly consider Route 46 Nissan
for a competitive offer before purchasing your Nissan else where.
Thank you for this excellent transation!
