The Service Advisor was helpful and really nice but somewhere in the parts department they lost the generosity. :mad:I find it very disturbing that car dealers are allowed to take advantage of consumers on a daily basis and there are no laws in place for prevention. I had an awful experience on 3-26-10 in which my headlamp went out on my car. I only went to the dealership because my sensors on my tires needed to be reset and I figured it would be convenient. Like the old adage, ” Kill two birds with one stone”. Needless to say the second bird was in a basket that I could never reach. The charge for a headlamp to be replaced was invoiced to me at $468.60 with a $39.95 installation fee. This total I thought was outrageous until the mechanic explained it was because I had HID bulbs. So my response after being in awe for 10 minutes was – “it is cheaper to ride with one headlight and wait to get a ticket”. So I left the dealership and immediately went home to search for this HIghDollar bulb online. The end result was I ordered the same bulb different manufacturer for $45.34. I was so upset that I wanted to go to the dealership and raise hell, but I didn’t. All I kept thinking was the guy said it was so expensive because it was an HID bulb and it was coming from the manufacturer of GM in Michigan. When I get the bulb out it is labeled a Phillips bulb and the ballaster was made in Germany. Go figure! My concern is for all of the elderly people that were in the lobby that day whom were probably all being taken advantage of-this absurd pricing has to be stopped somewhere.
Our car had just crapped out so we needed a car. We had plans to travel on Christmas with family and did not have a vehicle to do so. We went to Starling on Christmas Eve, we knew what we wanted. It was a toss up between the Ford Edge and the Chevy Equinox, it ultimately came down to price. We had already gone to Ford and were not impressed. John let us test drive the Equinox and we fell in love. He stayed after closing to help us complete the deal. The only downside of our buying experience was that there was another deal before us and only one finance guy (but it was Christmas Eve and they probably weren’t expecting to be busy!) so we had to wait. But it was worth it. We were able to get some great incentives including a rebate for turning in a competitor’s car! I would definitely visit this dealership and recommend them to friends and family!
I also wanted to mention that the finance guy called me two days later with another incentive that they forgot to include so our payment went down $9/month! We felt like that really speaks highly of the people working there.
