Bought a car at Toyota Direct, signed all of the documents. Went to pick up my car when agreed, and they told me that my car was sold to someone else. Would not honor price/financing for another car. I feel cheated. Going to buy a Honda now.
I recently bought a 2006 Toyota Camry from Toyota Direct on Morse Rd. Let me just say that I have never dealt with such poor customer service in both sales and service departments overall from any place of business than I did from this dealership.
Right off the bat I was treated poorly and spoken to as if I was a complete idiot. This is my first experience buying a car so therefore I had many questions. They continually called me young girl and were visibly agitated by my many questions (all which I consider valid). They also would not honor my wishes concerning how I requested to set up my financing. I was rudely asked what I didn’t understand about the whole financing process by Michelle Myers when I clearly stated my wishes and asked why it was not possible.
Furthermore, I found the same car (VIN # was exact) online for almost $3K less than what they were asking on the lot. When I went in and pointed this out they said that it could be the same kind of car from any dealership until I asked them to check the VIN #. They reluctantly gave me the car for that price.
I went back and forth with Michelle Myers for almost a week regarding my financing. She was short tempered and dishonest with me and my co-signer telling me that my co-signer said this was my transaction so they didn’t need to hear any details about the financing process which my co-signer said was completely untrue. They said Michelle never offered up the information. They also processed my paperwork incorrectly to begin with.
I also wrote them a check to put money down on the car. It has been my experience that this dealership could give two bits about returning your messages. She would take days to call me back. It was not until I threatened to put a stop payment on my check for the down payment that she called me back within 10 minutes of my call. Overall she was extremely unpleasant to deal with. She always made me feel like she had better things to do with her time than help me buy a car from her place of business.
They took forever to get my paperwork processed. Someone mistakenly locked it in the service department which made it “impossible for them to do anything with it until the following week”. Does no one in sales have access to the service department for this sort of thing after service hours!!?? I ended up getting the car almost a week after it was promised because of their delays.
After I purchased the car they never bothered to put it in my name in their systems. It is still listed as being under Toyota Direct which caused somewhat of a hassle in the service department when I took it in for a major life threatening issue with the car not even 30 days into owning the car. Something they missed in their so-called 160 point inspection. See Service reviews for more inforamtion on this issue.
