We walked in as a customer just looking at cars in the lot and test driving two cars aswell, and walked out feeling like a family member with a car one week later by faith. First I would like to say, thank you Jesus for directing our path to New Rochelle Toyota, and a special thanks to Harold, Steve, Frank, Christian and Nicole for their commitment, dedication, effort, interest, patient and time in helping us getting our new car. We are truly satisfied and are happy for the car of our choice. God bless you all, Thank you.
The salesperson was a soft-spoken patient guy and was very nice, but the person he was reporting to, was extremely rude, arrogant, aggressive and nasty. They quoted a price on internet for an AWD LE Sienna with no options. I drove 1.5 hours from New Jersey spending $30 including all the tolls and stuff. I was told that they have 4-5 Sienna AWD LE and when I went they told that there were only 2 and the price which they quoted included a $1,000 college rebate and was non-negotiable. I called at least 4 times before going there and emailed them 3 times to confirm the price. I was very disappointed and then they agreed to install remote start and sell the car for a price of $30,100 which was about $700 more than the price they originally quoted. They didn’t even give a folder for the papers. And what more, in the invoice they put down a price which they quoted inintially. The market price for remote start installation is ~$520. They were reluctant to even give a dime less and didn’t even give the floor mats for the car. I felt like I was cheated and although it was only a few hundred dollars we are talking about, in this economy, it is still a lot of money. The floor manager was rude and almost ran towards me and said I wouldn’t have to buy. I wish I didn’t have crunch of time and wish there were others making AWDs.
And then regarding financing, they had promised me a 2.9% with my credit score of 720 and what they finally gave was 3.99% .. probably the remaining 2.09% was going to the dealership. The wierd thing was the guy never told me that he changed banks and we thought that we are going with Toyota financials.
The final nail in the coffin which really upset me was that they didn’t give me the window sticker, said van would be 8 seater and turned out to be a 7 seater, didn’t give me the valet key, didn’t give any manual for the remote start, and when I called them they never respond back. 😡 Try to refrain from Toyota … Honda will give you better service at least.
On top of everything, there were no tea/coffee .. just water .. you are spending so much and this is the hospitality you get. When I think back I really wish I didn’t choose Toyota.
Last week I went to the New Rochelle Toyota dealership to buy a highlander and I left being chased, cursed at, the manager kicked my car, and then threatened me with physical abuse becasue I wouldn’t buy a car. I don’t know the managers name but he is a small puggy/overweight unattractive man with a beard and wears glasses. I called Toyota corporate and they registered my complaint but are unable to take any further action because the dealership is not owned by Toyota Corporate. They were able to call the dealership but it is privately owned. This manager should, at the minimum, be fired. The actions of this manager were so bizarre that it made me think he was going to go ” POSTAL ” and shoot everyone in sight. This manager engaged in additional crazy behavior but I think what I wrote above is enough to try and digest and believe at this time. I put this managers action in the category of ”UNBELIEVEABLE YET TRUE”.
If you go to this dealership, which I personnally recommend against, do not engage with this manager for fear of physical and verbal abuse and possibly other severe retaliatory actions.
