What a waste of time. They ignored me for more than half hour in an almost empty dealership, they have hardly have any selection, most of it is over priced, low balled my trade in by $2000 compared to another dealer in the area. They said they will call with their offer, but never did. I called them back to see what is going on and the sales man already went home. I am not interested in buying from a dealer who does not want to sell. It seems they want to sell a few cars at a huge profit rather than moving many cars at a fair margin. I suggest to avoid this place if you don’t want to be blown off, unless you are sucker and they think they can sell you an over priced piece of junk at a high profit.
Took our truck to them to have it fixed, it was running but had white smoke coming out of the tail pipe. I thought it had a blown head gasket, and my husband had just had 2 surgeries to repair tendons in his hand so we couldn’t do it. They called us the next day to say there was no compression in cylinder 6, but no signs of a blown head gasket…so we told them to diagnose what was wrong. Called us back the next day with an estimate of over $6500 to rebuild the engine, or $8500 to replace it with a rebuilt engine from dodge. They said cylinder 6 had a seized ring and they had not tore down the other side yet. We told them to go ahead with the $6500 repair, to which they replied ok so that will be at least $7500 to fix the truck. They had not included the work already done in the estimate. We told them to just put all the parts in the truck and we would come get it. When we went in to pick up the truck they tried to bargin with us to have them do the work, which we declined, did not feel comfortable with them any longer. So we had the truck towed hame and we sold it as is. So, now we just heard from the guy who bought the truck, and guess what…No seized ring, it was a blown head gasket, which he had repaired and the truck is running great. I don’t know what was up with Dick’s, we bought the truck there and had other repairs done there with no problems in the past. We will never go back to them and feel like they were just trying to take us for a ride. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY!!!!!!!
My husband wanted me to also put in that we considered trading in the truck, which they told us was only worth $200, but KBB price as a trade in was $1000. They had 2 trucks on their website that we wanted to see. After walking around the lot and not finding either one, they brought us into the show room to “Talk”, while they tried to locate the trucks. Finally after 1 hour, and three different sales people talking to us we decided to leave. That’s when they told us that one of the trucks was at the other lot (Ford) and they thought that the other one had been sold. We did go and look at the truck, it was nice, but after everything they had put us through we decided against it. Due to the fact that we just didn’t feel comfortable with them any longer.
This was going to be our second auto purchase from this dealership. Our first experience was not so great, but ended up working out. We bought a Ford Explorer in 2004 from Dicks Country Ford??, came in with ad price from newspaper. Had stock#, once there, they would not honor the ad price. Husband called management to ask why would not honor what was advertised, received call from owner’s daughter, who stated they would honor and asked us to come back in — we went back in next day, bought car.
Then yesterday, July 31, 2009, went into Dicks Country Dodge with $25,000 cash to purchase Dodge Ram 1500. Salesman & finance guy were arrogant jerks. Neither one introduced themselves to us. Went ahead and shopped around, found one and agreed on price, even signed worksheet that we agreed to the price they were offering truck at. They kept us at dealership for hour and a half, only to come out and advise that they could not sell us the truck at the agreed amount price??? Had couple different excuses as to why…to make long story short, spoke with another dealership regarding excuses given to us and he confirmed it was BS. They were never going to sell us the truck at the price first agreed upon and was going to work the price up. Husband called management office, was told by management office that owner/son of owner would call us back regarding experirence….never called. Spent our $25,000 elsewhere.
We bought a close to new dodge caravan from them. Once we had signed all the papers and were getting ready to leave we they gave us 1 key.. when we asked for the other key .. they said we had to buy one.. $150 .. I said no that is not fair and a car should come with 2 keys. I left with just one key and called the manager the next day.. he said that they didn’t have to give us 2 keys but he would look around for us. They found one and I had to drive back out there to get it. Now after only having it for a week we are noticing dog hair on the car.. which is making my kids sick.. they said they shampoo’ed it before we took it.. NOT, and today the check engine light came on.. after my husband checked it all out we found out that the oil had not been changed, not the filter either.. or the other standard maintance done on it.. we are regretting buying from this dealership because they are not honest and now we are in a nice long contract with someone who has poor integrity and is not reliable. This will not be fun
At the time gas was $4 per gallon and I needed some relief. I could not afford a new vehicle but Dick’s Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge had a great selection of pre-owned vehicles and the best warranty of all the dealers I looked at. Some have 30 days some have none. The vehicle I bought was a 2002 with 73,000 miles. It was in great shape and came with a 2 year/100K warranty!! It came with the car. It was not one of the add on warranties. They talked to me about those as well. I highly reccomend their internet dept. Call and ask for Randy May and tell him Jim Greg sent you. That way I get $100 for referring you 🙂
I bought a 2002 Dodge Crew Cab Dakota from Dicks Country Dodge. My salesman what a pleasure to work with and delivered exactly what I wanted. (I had it ordered). After telling a friend about the experience, he went down to the dealership with me to pick up my new truck. That night, he traded his car in for a new car from Dick’s as well. Just a cool dealership with very low sales pressure that is there to help you find a car/truck that you are after.
I called up and set an appt. for the following day. I told them I could not leave the car and would have to wait for it. They made every effort to get it done quickly and actually did it in less time than they said.
