I first bought a vehicle from Allen Turner Hyundai in 1998, and have not shopped anywhere else since then. In fact, we are in the process of buying a car for our teenage daughter right now, and this is the only place we will shop.
The car buying experience is generally pretty miserable, but we have never had a bad experience at Allen Turner Hyundai. We have always been made to feel welcome and comfortable, and have never been pressured. The sales staff is very professional, something that I have not always experienced at other dealerships. And besides, they have a great product.
Why would anyone shop elsewhere?
I went over to test drive a 2006 Lincoln Navigator that I had seen on the internet. I had already been in contact with the sales staff for about a week and a half. I had called and asked them to have the truck ready to go for me to test drive because I had worked a mid shift the night before and I was coming over before I went to bed. When I arrived the salesman couldn’t be located for about10 minutes and the truck was on empty. Now instead of letting me drive the car for myself the salesman had to drive it so he could put gas in it. When I finally got to drive, it was so short that I didn’t get to put it throught it’s paces. The salesman tried to distract me by asking about where I was from and things like that, even though he wouldn’t remember even when we got back to the dealership. I asked him to go ahead and get out and told him that I was going to check all of the options. It turns out that the A/C blows but only on high. I turned the fan speed down and nothing changed. I tried to turn it off and it switched over to defrost (high speed) even though all the lights were off. I told him about it to which he replied that the car was used and it was just something I would have to deal with. I was told that if I didn’t want the high speed air blowing directly in my face at all times then i sould just make go toward the feet. Like I told him I wasn’t paying for a car that all of the options didn’t work. He said well I should just buy it and they could get there service dept. to fix it the next week. HAHAHA funny $#!* I said yeah, okay would you pay for a car if all of the options didn’t work on it. I walked out and will never purchase nor recommend anyone to ever purchase from Allen Turner Hyundai (Automotive).:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Though it was a few months from maturity, my husband was hounded through emails and phone calls from the dealer, stating that he was eligible for early termination with no penalties if he bought a new car. Since he planned on purchasing new at the maturity date anyway, he thought no harm no foul, I can be out of this sedan and into a sports car 3 months sooner. The sales person called him everyday until he finally went in. He was reassured, multiple times that the remaining payments on the lease would be taken care of and the lease would be terminated. Shame on my husband for not reading the new purchase agreement until later, but there was absolutely no mention of the leased car at all, like it had never been turned in, even though the lease company retrieved the car within days and took it to auction and sold it. After the car was long gone we received our usual bill in the mail and one for the newly purchased car. We now owe over 1000 dollars on the leased car. Since the purchase of the new car is done so is the customer service. No one will speak to my husband and everyone seems to always be “at lunch”. We now reluctantly have to pay the financing company so we can keep our credit clean, but we’re out a lot of money and seriously considering bringing Allen Turner Hyundai to court. I’ve always been warned to watch out for car dealers but this one looked us in the eye and flat out lied to make a sale!
I am happy to report that the matter has been cleared up. Finally after my husband met with Allen Turner himself, everything was taken care of. Allen Turner does seem to be a stand up guy that does right by his customers, however, I still wouldn’t trust the sales staff, and our credit is still not showing that it has been taken care of so we are still dealing with a situation that should not have happened in the first place.
I am sorry that this problem was not taken care of sooner, but we did work with Hyundai Motor Finance to reslove the issue of the remaining payments.
Thank you,
Allen Turner
Thank you for your newer post, and I am sorry that this issue wasnt taken care of at the time of sale.

I will never buy a car from Allen Turner again!!!!! I recently purchased an ’07 Hyundai Veracruz from Allen Turner. After having my new car for only a month I ran over a screw and needed to replace the tire. I took my car to Allen Turner and they could not get me a matching tire for my car. I looked on-line and called numerous numbers, including Hyundai, but could not find the tire I needed. I made numerous calls to Allen Turner Automotive in the process and no one could help me. They either did not return my phone calls or gave me another number to call. Finally I talked to Allen Turner, the owner. I told him how ridiculous it was that I could not find a matching tire for my brand new vehicle. His answer was basically it’s my problem not his. He suggested I purchase any tire that fit, then order the one I want and when that tire comes in (in a few months) switch them out. I told him I would not buy two tires just to get the one I needed. I told him they should put four matching tires on my car and I would pay for one. He told me I was ridiculous and he would not do that. He did not offer any solutions to my problem. I then told Mr. Turner that I would NEVER purchase another vehicle from him and I would make sure I told everyone I could not to. He began yelling, I told him to lower his voice, he did not so I hung up on him. He was very unprofessional and uncaring of my situation. I really want to caution anyone who is thinking about buying a car from Allen Turner. I strongly suggest you take your business to someone who cares about their customers.
I realize that it has been a long time since this was posted, and I do remember this situation. Obviously, I should have handled the situation differently, as I do place a high priority on customer experiences here at the dealership.
Sincerely,
Allen Turner
