I took my car to have the exhaust manifold gaskets replaced and when the car was returned I was told by service adviser that my exhaust manifold was warped. The effects of the manifold being warped was a very load noise coming from the manifold because a proper seal was no longer possible. Their advice was to get the manifold replaced. Replacing the manifold is very expensive I had to wait to get the repair done. At this point, I felt cheated because my car was in worse condition after the repair. When I finally could afford to get the manifold repaired, I went to a different mechanic. The mechanic check the manifold and informed me the exhaust manifold was not warped, in fact, the exhaust manifold gaskets were not properly in stalled. The improperly installed gaskets caused the loud noise and for exhaust to enter the cabin, which I was told my car would be safe to drive, but would not pass inspection until I got the manifold replaced.
James Mears did offer reimbursement for the cost of repair, but not parts. I also wanted to be reimbursed for parts that I paid for and that were ruined. To this day, I have not received any kind of reimbursement.
I took my RX8 there to get repairs. When I wet there to pay they gave me a long list of things that they said needed repair. But I had already had it looked at before an knew the information was incorrect. After reading my services report I was charged $400 for replacing fuses. I later learned I could have done it myself for less then $90 for the parts. I felt ripped off because they told me I had fooled my car, needed brakes, tires, and many other things that had already been checked.
I was meaning they said I flooded my car.
My daughter goes to Tech in Lubbock we are 800 miles from her. We have had many problems with her car! Andy and the outstanding Service Department have always been there to help her. It is like taking it to family we always trust what they tell her.
In college towns it is very difficult to find someone for young adults to trust and Mears Mazda takes good care of our kids without taking advantage of them.
Thanks Andy and your entire Service team!!!!
Have purchased two CX 9’s from this dealer. The first was a used one that and after owning for a while I had to have some warranty work done on it and it was done with no problems and no cost.
The second CX9 I purchased from them is because they made me an offer I just could not pass on.
They have always been good people to deal with. They have always done just what they said they would do!:)
Have dealed with Mark both time and he has always been on the up and up with me!!!:)
I think James Mears Mazda is the best dealership in West Texas. I have purchased several vehicles from here and have been very satisfied with all parts of the business. The people are friendly, hard working and honest. I have had to go back for a few questions and they did exactly what we agreed upon no more no less. I would recommend this dealership to my family, friends or anyone interested in buying a car.
Mears is not a reputable dealership. The management is cowardly when it comes to facing the public on troubles with vehicles purchased from their inventory. Consumers will feel mislead and cheated. This is a direct comment from the sales manager Mark Benedict at Mears:
Hi! I’m Mark Benedict. and have enjoyed working with the Mears Mazda Family as the Sales Manager for 8 years. With 15 years experience in automotive customer service and sales, I am honored to work with the Mears family and the excellent sales team. I feel privileged to work for a company who builds their business around honesty, sincerity and genuine care for the customer during and after the sale.
I also enjoy being at the lake, water skiing, and golfing in beautiful West Texas.
Whatever your need, I am here to get you on the road and committed to helping you get the most for your money.
Sounds great right? Well, I purchased my SUV 6 days ago only to find out that if I wanted the correct program keys to my car that it was not included in the deal and I was going to have to pay $400 more to have those. And now my vehicle is in the shop because it failed to start on me several times this past weekend. I was told we would have to pay $100 deductable to have it serviced. So I am out $500 dollars. And when we asked to speak to Mark Benedict, his response was,” if those keys came cheap we would of had some to give you.” He said there was no reason to talk to him, he wasn’t going to do anything. He has not helped me to get on the road and get more for my money like his public website announces. He sounds more like a fraud to me.
YOU should NOT have to pay a dime in the service dept , its a brand new car! there is lemon laws! i would force them to fix your vehicle and not give them a dime more and demand keys! for free
Looks like you did a great job researching all the stuff on me (Mark Benedict). The only question I have is how you can pass judgement on someone you have never met. You made a decision to buy a used car (Not NEW) and was completely satisfied the day you took delivery or you would have asked for something at that time. Instead you waited a week to complain. We also took your car with no questions asked and repaired it under the agreement stated in all the paperwork. I did exactly what I said I would do so if I’m a fraud then what are you.?
As for Lydia, know the facts before you pass judgement
Mark,
I see that you have finally decided to acknowledge this issue. That’t the first step, good job!! Now, let me say, I was not totally happy with my purchase when I drove off of the lot because I was told AFTER we purchased the vehicle that we were going to have to PAY for the correct coded keys to drive it. Secondly, we bought the vehicle on Sept 30th. It did not start having problems starting until that weekend Sunday Oct 4th. Since then I have brought it in two mores times and guess what it is STILL in your shop because they cannot fix the problem at the moment. I have been without a car for a over a week now. Yes, your SERVICE department is working on it but I had to pay $100 deductable the first time on top of the $300 for the RIGHT key. Mark, my husband tried to visit you to talk about this matter and I have tried calling you but you have done nothing but ignore us. Now, you think me posting a legitimate complaint that I have with your work ethic is FRAUD? I am the one getting SCREWED Mark. You are the one that has hid behind your desk for the last 3wks while I have been in and out of your service department because I cannot trust the car that I bought from Mears to get me from point A to B. Go ahead and keep hiding behind your computer and trying to convince everyone that your the victim. Maybe if you would have taken the time to honestly listen to us you would not have to be defending yourself to the public. Don’t worry your website and comments are not the only thing that I have been researching. I have rights. I will be sure to have them enforced if need be.
Secondly, don’t discount used car buyers. You know there are several dealerships closing around town and I bet they wish that they had a used car to sell. Don’t be greedy. I am in sales too and word of mouth can be your best friend or worst enemy.
Have a good one!
Just like I tell all customers I’m at work everyday and would be glad to talk any customer. Just can’t always make every customer happy, but I do try. Everything we said would be done during and after the sale was done and has been done. Thanks for the business
