On 27 FEB 2013, I found a 2009 Honda Pilot (STK #: IT11923) on the Cavalier Ford website listed at $22434. I put in an offer through the website and received an email at 3:52pm (EST) from Jennifer Hansen, internet manager. The email was followed by a phone call within the next ten minutes from Ms Hansen attempting to arrange an appointment to show the vehicle that evening. I asked her how long the vehicle had been on their lot and she stated it arrived ten days ago. I asked her to confirm the vehicle was at the 1515 S Military Highway location to ensure I went to the right lot; she verbally confirmed the address. I told her I would either be by that evening or the following morning first thing depending on when my spouse was available.
In fact, I drove 35 miles and arrived at the dealership at the advertised opening of 9 AM. Following a walk through the lot and not finding the vehicle, another salesman (didn’t catch his name) offered to look it up. He too saw the vehicle online and only after checking behind the desk could determine the vehicle had been in fact sold on the 17th.
While I can understand a couple day delay in updating listings, more than 10 days either demonstrates Cavalier is not truly ready for the modern internet market or that a bait and switch is occurring with the only interest getting a potential sale into the office and sell an alternate vehicle. I literally had a check in my pocket for $25K from a pre-approved loan and barring a major defect would have plopped it down on the advertised car. Now, I’m afraid I’ll go somewhere else and anyone that were to ask, I’d steer them away from Cavalier.

1. I did NOT purchase
2. I would NOT recommend
3. The review form required star ratings in all catagories but I did NOT use any financing so my real review of thier financing would be NOT APPLICABLE
