In the fall of 2013, I was traveling from Windsor Locks, CT to Sanford, FL when I had problems with my 2010 Toyota Matrix with about 42000 miles. I was stranded in Fayetteville for 4 days while the service department replaced the fuel pump. The vehicle still wouldn’t start. The service advisor charged me for a new fuel tank cap because the mechanic broke it while he was unscrewing it and she charged me for the fuel pump with labor because the vehicle was out of warranty. I towed the vehicle back to Sanford, FL and brought it to my local mechanic that determined the fuel regulator was bad. He replaced it and it promptly started. I haven’t had problems with it ever since then. I currently own a Audi R8, Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and an BMW X6M. I will never purchase another Lexus or Toyota in my life nor recommend this shady dealership.
Went to buy a 2012 Camry SE off the lot listed at 28,000. Would only go to 26,000 with my trade in that was worth 2,200 on edmunds. Told them politely no, that was too much for me please give me my keys so I can leave. Refused to give me my keys and tried to sell me a different type of car. Made me wait 1 hour before they would finally let me leave. Went somewhere else and bought same car for 22,000. Sales manager was very rude and nasty. Told me I wanted too much car for too little money. Really?
yea, I want to purchase a use 2006 Chevey they had on they lot. I tried to get info on they car but he just ask me about my credit
We recently purchased a 2011 Toyota Corolla from Rick Hendrick in Fayetteville. Our problems with the dealership did not start until about 2 weeks after we left with our new car. The dealership called us after the deal was complete and told us that the orginal contract that we signed with them was expired and that they needed us to come in and sign a new contract to make the deal valid. OK, not a problem. Upon arriving we asked our finance manager about our trade in being paid off because our payment date was coming up and we cant afford to make the payment on that vehicle as well as our new one. He assured us that it would only take a few days for our new contract and the check to arrive at our former lender and that it should be an issue. That was 2 weeks ago. I logged into our former lenders website tonight to find out that we are not 4 days past due on our previous cars payment. I called the lender to inform them that the vehicle was traded in to a dealership on Black Friday. The informed me that the payment is still our responsibility until the dealership makes the payoff. I tried to call the dealership to get some answers and i was given the run around. I am extremly upset because them NOT paying off our vehicle in a timely fashion could have negative effect on our credit! Will consider ever purchasing a vehicle from them again!

I recently purchased a new Prius from Rick Hendrick Toyota in Fayetteville, NC and I have to say that I am 100% dissatisfied. Our vehicle was supposedly coming in from port, yet it had 500 miles on it, a question that has yet to be answered by the dealership. When the vehicle arrived, our salesman, James Hilton, had told me that the paperwork would be completed except for those regarding the mileage on my trade in so that I would not be there all day waiting for the finance manager to get everything done. That was a complete lie. I waited over two and a half hours waiting to do the paperwork and take delivery of my vehicle. James had also lied to me when he told me that the payoff on my trade in would be sent within 2 – 3 days, and that it was done electronically. This was important because the payment on that vehicle was due soon, and I am now late on it. We are now 10 days after delivery and the car has yet to be paid off. I called James several times and he said he would find out what was going on and call me right back. It is now Thursday and he has yet to call me back, I always have to call him. So I took a trip up to the dealership and he apologized for not calling me back. He then went to talk to the finance manager. This means that after I called, he just brushed me off. The sale was done and I was no longer of any use to him. The previous three days when I called, he never attempted to find out the information that I needed to know, or else he would have been able to tell me right then and there. Instead of finding this information out for me on his own, like a good salesman would do, he directed me to someone else, who was conveniently gone for the rest of the day. He also could not find out about the mileage on my vehicle (which the paperwork that I signed said it had 3 miles but it actually had over 500 miles on it) because he said the sales manager was on vacation. Not only did he lie to me many many times, but after the sale he just did not care any more, would not return calls, directed me to other people, and had excuses for everything. I have sold cars for 3 years prior to joining the military, and I have worked at some shady dealership, but never have I ever seen a complete lack of customer service from a dealership or salesperson. I will never purchase another vehicle from a Hendrick dealer ever again, and will make sure anyone I know does not purchase from there either.
I purchased a slightly used Certified 2009 Corolla from Hendrick Toyota in May of 2009. Since I had a bad experience with a certified Corolla from Hendrick in 2001(car had been wrecked and repainted) I was kidding about the value of any certified car at their dealership. Of course I was assured that the car was great (it looked and ran great as far as I was concerned) and I bought it. That evening I was returning home from dinner when it started to rain. I turned on the windshield wipers and every light on the dash lit up. As I was turning into a parking lot the engine died. Turned out there were loose grounds in the dash. If the vehicle was actually inspected, ie wipers checked, they would have seen the problem. I went to the dealership with a letter of credit from a bank they do business with, informed the sales manager I had the letter, told him not to run a credit check since I don’t like queries on my reports. Even though I had walked in “with the money”, they put me out for bid, which resulted in 3 unnecessary queries on my credit reports.
I think “certified” at Hendrick Toyota is based strictly on appearance and mileage. If you understand that and don’t look at the car as “something special”, then you’ll probably get a car at least as good as something at Joe’s Used Cars.
I bought my 2007 Toyota Corolla new from Rick Hendrick Toyota in Fayetteville, NC. Shortly after purchasing this car I relocated to Raleigh, NC for a new job. As I still have family in Fayetteville, so I go home regularly and have taken my car back to Rick Hendrick for all its scheduled warranties and oil changes.
In the last two weeks, my check engine light has come on 3 on separate occasions and on all three occasions I have taken to my local mechanic in Raleigh to have a diagnostic performed. All three times the code thrown was for the torque converter. After having my local mechanic do the diagnostic, I have immediately taken my car to Toyota dealerships to have this issue fixed (the first two times I took it to Rick Hendrick in Fayetteville because that’s where I take it for all its maintenance work). The third time, this Saturday, I took it to Leith Toyota in Raleigh because I cannot afford to take off another day of work to take it to Rick Hendrick just to have them tell me there is nothing wrong. The people at Leith are suppose to be getting back to me today, because they had to “call Toyota on Monday” before they could figure out what is wrong with my car.
The problem I am running into here is that my car, at over 54,000 miles, is about 6,000 miles away from being out of the powertrain warranty. No one wants to diagnose and fix a problem that is still under warranty because this obviously means I wont have to pay for the work. Well, I bought a Toyota because I wanted a no hassle, well made car that would last me 10+ years and not be a financial drain. I did not think to figure unscrupulous dealership service into that equation.
I purchased a 2006 Camry in Jun 2006 when I needed a vehicle with automatic transmission to accomodate my injury I recieved in Iraq. I was unable to go to the dealership because I was recovering from the injury and the co-buyer picked up the vehicle. The dealership titled the vehicle soley in the name of the co-buyer. This is despite my name being first on the purchase agreement and the loan agreement. I have visited the dealership several times requesting title correction. I have made a written request which they refuse to reply. They will not return the calls of my lawyer. I have not seen the vehicle since I deployed to Afghanistan and have no legal rights to the vehicle even though I am responsible for payments. The North Carolina DMV and the Toyota Finance have cooperated in attempting to get the title corrected. The DMV states that all Rick Hendrick Toyota has to do is call the DMV title hotline and request title correction. They refuse to do so.
“My experience with Rick Hendrick Toyota is as follows: courteous staff, that I noticed was not just eager to sell me a car but listen to what I really want in a car, a great selection of cars, which allowed me to test drive a few I liked and narrow it down to the make and model I really felt comfortable with. I would recommend Rick Hendrick Toyota definitely as the best dealership as it was a real good car buying experience for me that I would do over again with Rick Hendrick Toyota when I am looking for a new car.”
“What really made Rick Hendrick Toyota stand out was the helpful and friendly staff…they amazed me in how much they new about the industry, the cars I asked questions about and that they actually listened to what I was looking for. I simply enjoyed becoming the proud owner of a Toyota and am a completely satisfied customer of this dealership.”
