Had the displeasure of being in contact with 4 different employees on one car that I was interested in. All interactions were electronically during this pandemic, while the dealership is only operating electronically through sales. A lack of follow through from each one had caused me to lose out on a car that I had made known my interest to all of them. I was getting close to a deal with the Internet Sales Manager Jay Rim when the line of communication on his part suddenly went dead. I had contacted the dealership on a Thursday, was in touch with a sales rep and someone from Business Development, Mary Green. Both told me someone would get back to me and no one did. On Saturday, the Internet Sales Manager got in touch with me and the car at that point was still available. We had exchanged emails about particulars of the deal, and then all of a sudden no response. When I didnt hear back from him on Monday morning, I reached out to him in the afternoon and he told me that another deal had come in that morning that they were now looking at. By Wednesday the car was sold to someone else. When the dealership called me to tell me that they sold the car to someone else, they had tried to say that they had accepted on the car a week earlier. This was NOT TRUE, as with each of the employees that I was in contact the week before, they all said the car was still available. The Saturday prior I had exchanged several emails with Jay Rim working a deal for the car, so it was still in fact available. They only stopped working with me when “another offer” came in on Monday morning. I had felt like the dealership was operation more like an auction house. I had never purchased a car from this dealership before, so they have no loyalty as a buyer, I get that. But this is not what I expect from a Toyota dealership. When I asked for the General Manager’s and Sales Manager’s email addresses another employee Armando wouldn’t provide it to me. Im just one person, they have plenty of positive reviews…but buyer beware is my advice based on my experience with several of their employees.

Price deception, sales manager Tony was unprofessional and walked away from me.
In my opinion I was duped. I will never, ever go here again. Be very careful if you insist to buy here.
I e-mailed Toyota of Hackensack to check out some leasing options for a 2012 Camry. Frankie answered, he checked my credit and then set up an appointment to come after I had been approved. They even followed up via phone. When I got to the dealership, I was given a tour of the Camry options by Antonio, he was very friendly. I’ve never had such an effective and streamlined visit to a dealership. The people there were very helpful and courteous but most of all, they didn’t drag their feet.
I wasn’t so comfortable with going into a car dealership by myself thinking I was going to get taken advantage of because of my little knowledge in cars. I was lucky enough to have my friend there and even more lucky because I didn’t have to use him at all. The sales consultants at Toyota of Hackensack helped me every step of the way and I didn’t feel uncomfortable discussing everything during the process by myself. It was really a great experience.
I was weary on going to the dealership by myself being a first time buyer and all but I walked into Toyota of Hackensack by myself anyway. I was looking for a Camry and the salesman, Antonio was great and he really explained everything down to a tee. I really don’t understand why they say that thing about women going to by cars alone.
I purchased my Camry at Toyota of Hackensack a little while back and I was having some issues with the heating. Through their website, I scheduled my servicing and in their coupons page found some extra savings on heating and cooling. Good service at a fraction of the cost, what could be better?
In the search for my first brand new car, I did quite a bit of research on the car I wanted with all the options. I also researched Toyota dealerships, I went to Toyota of Hackensack after having a very timely e-mail response from a sales associate there. I scheduled my walk in, test drove an avalon and did my ordering, financing and all the paperwork on the same day and had my Avalon no more than a week later with all MY specs. overall, working with Bill at Toyota of Hackensack was easy, affordable and I got what I wanted out of it.
I visited Toyota of Hackensack in my search for a new Venza and was very impressed with the deal they were willing to give me. I told my salesman that I wanted to shop around a little more for my own peace of mind, and he was fine with that. Lo and behold, I was not able to get a better deal anywhere else. When I returned to Toyota of Hackensack to actually buy the car, they were so nice to me and were honestly thankful for my business. The entire process was a breeze with them, and next time I’ll know to go there first.
I did not visit Toyota of Hackensack for the first time under the best of circumstances – I was looking for a replacement for my beloved 1995 Camry that I lost in an accident. I was completely shocked (in a good way) that everyone I encountered there was so compassionate and concerned when I told them why I was shopping for something new. Bill, my salesman, was very sensitive to my needs and helped me find the right car for me: a 2012 Camry in the same color as my old one! Thanks to Toyota of Hackensack for turning my sad story into a happy ending!
I had a good experience at Toyota of Hackensack. Both the sales and service people are very professional, along with the finance area. I would highly recommend Toyota of Hackensack to my friends and family!
I must say that I am very impressed with my purchase, and that the salesman was a very professional in presenting me with the product. He was not pushy, or try to sell me something I didn’t want. And that is very important to me when I’m shopping for something. The staff was very friendly to me whether they were dealing with me on the purchase or just passing by me while I was there. I would most certainly recommend the dealership to my friends and family. THANK YOU.
Our experience was great with Toyota of Hackensack. From the moment we pulled up in the parking lot we were greeted with a friendly hello and introduction. The staff was friendly & professional. We did not feel pressured or misled. I highly recommend Toyota of Hackensack to anyone interested in a new Toyota.
This was absolutely the BEST car purchase I have ever experienced! Very courteous staff! I would definitely consider this dealership in the future. I absolutely love my new 2011 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Sport! Jose in Sales and Steve in Finance made the purchase an enjoyable one.
IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE READ THIS: DO NOT DEAL WITH MICHAEL IN THE FINANCEDEPARTMENT. HE WILL TACK ON EXTRA FEESWITHOUT ASKING YOU ABOUT IT. HISPAPERWORK HIS ATROCIOUS AND HE WILL BE PUSHY AND SNEAKY ABOUT IT. HE HAS AN EXTREMELY BAD ATTITUDE, IT ISAPPALLING> ALSO, DOUBLE CHECK ALL OFYOUR PAPERWORK AND PRICING (EVEN IF IT TAKES YOU AN HOUR) BEFORE LEAVING! THEY WILL ADD ON FEES AND CHARGES FORSERVICES YOU DID NOT ASK FOR AND DO NOT WANT!!! THEY WILL TRY TO SNEAK IN WHATEVER THEY CAN THINKING YOU WON’T NOTICE ANEXTRA COUPLE HUNDRED HERE AND THERE!!!
I do have to give stars to the salespeople that I workedwith – the three Asian guy team. Veryhelpful, very understanding, and worked well with me to find a price that wewere both comfortable with.
The finance department, on the other hand, was ATROCIOUS. I worked with Michael – guy in the far left office (if you get him, askfor someone else.) He pushed merelentlessly to buy the extended warranty and when I kept refusing, he gave methe WORST attitude and customer service I have ever had in my LIFE. From then on, he refused to even acknowledgeme or answer basic questions that I had. I almost considered walking right out of there and not purchasing, if Ididn’t go through all the hours of negotiation with the sales team. He didn’t even ask me about adding on anyoptions, so I didn’t think that there was anything else included in mypaperwork. When I tried to get him toslow down talking – he was RACING through the contract at top speed – hebrushed me off (more attitude). Butsince we hadn’t discussed any additional add-ons, I left it alone because Ididn’t think they’d add anything without my consent. When I went home and took a look at thepaperwork, I realized that not only did they charge me the WRONG PRICE we hadnegotiated for the car and he also tacked on almost $800 in additional chargesfor services we hadn’t discussed! So,we’re all human… people make mistakes, and I was willing to overlook it ifthey were kind about it.
Unfortunately Michael did not give me any reason to want toforgive him – when I went back to the dealership to go over the paperwork andcorrect the errors. MORE ATTITUDE! Even worse than before – I almost consideredtalking to his superior about him right then and there, but I didn’t have thetime to waste. And I had brought someonealong with me to bear witness to what they were saying, and when they tried tohelp me out in explaining what was wrong, Michael flat out said to my friend,”Um, is your name on this? No.” And turned away. When I asked him how he got the price listedfor the car, that the sales team and I had negotiated, he said “I don’tknow.” And I asked him about thecharges that were listed that I hadn’t agreed to and he said again, “Idon’t know.” And simply starred atme waiting for an answer. HELLO? Aren’t YOU supposed to find for ME? That’s why I’m asking you! Finally he said he would get the paperworkfrom the other building, went back to his office (which had windows that youcould see in to) – dilly dallied for 20 minutes. It wasn’t until I starred him down from myplace in the room, did he call out “I just need to get the paperwork fromthe other building.” 10 minuteslater, his supervisor, Steven, came out. MUCH nicer and friendlier, and he escorted us over to the other buildingto take care of the problem.
The sales person who had my original paper work was notthere that day, so I had to return AGAIN the following day for them to correctthe numbers. Finally, they agreed thatit was incorrect (but no apology on their part), changed it to the agreed uponprice. This time, I took my time lookingover every detail, and found that though they had changed that price of the car- they tacked on an extra $300 where there previously had not been any! (Again, no apology on there part.) Finally, I was able to leave after a fewhours… for the second time. Atrociouscustomer service, and shame on them for keeping somebody like Michael in theirfinance department. For such a seeminglynice, and large, dealership, I expected much better service.
This is the second dealing I’ve had with Toyota of Hackensack and both times have gone very well. My salesman listened to what you are looking for, and was very knowledgeable about the vehicle. I had a wonderful experience at Toyota of Hackensack and I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new Toyota.
From the time I walked into the dealership and met with John Perkins my salesperson, to the finance completion every step was low key and easy. I highly recommend Hackensack Toyota and John Perkins.
There is no pressure to purchase “by the end of the day or else”!! Everyone at the dealership is pleasant. Stop in and see for yourself.;)
From the moment I arrived at Toyota of Hackensack I was welcomed with a friendly and warm reception. The manager Ron and my salesperson Bill were professional, courteous and fun. Buying a car can be stressful but I did not feel that way with Bill. I have already referred Toyota of Hackensack to a friend and will continue to do so in the future.
This was my first experience with Toyota of Hackensack. I went to the Dealership last Saturday morning with all intentions of trading my car in for a new one. Edwin was my sales associate, who was very helpful and with information about the 4Runner I wanted. My purchase was completed rathe quickly and the entire process was nice. I would most definitely do business with Toyota of Hackensack again and I will refer my friends.
I had a minor issue with my car. Every time I turned my steering wheel it tightened up and I couldn’t really turn it all the way. I went online and saw they had a form I could fill out within a matter of minutes to make an appointment at Toyota of Hackensack. They called me to confirm and I had an appointment immediately!! This is why I love and am a loyal customer! Toyota of Hackensack really cares about the quality of their services and they care about me as a person not only as a customer! Great job team!!
We finally had enough and went over toToyota of hackensack for a new car. We don’t have a big family, there are just three of us. I take mass transit to work, but my wife uses the car to take my daughter to and from school and to dance. Toyotas have always been our car of choice, so we made our decision about a new car based on the price. At the end of the day it has four wheels and works so I don’t care about the glam. Within two hours we had our black 2010 Camry. It had just one user and the payments are manageable. The sales team worked with us patiently, but its because they were pretty empty.
I would recommend Hackensack Toyota sales department to anyone looking to purchase a Toyota. The sales staff were all equally helpful and answered questions that I needed answered. Especially Bill. Very helpful. All dealerships should be this easy. I have been researching different Toyota vehicles recently and I have found the dealership I will be purchasing from.
I had to bring my vehicle (2009 Toyota Corolla) in for an oil change and I was dreading this since the hassle and wait time is usually bad and I did not have an appointment. I took it in anyway and told the guy at the counter that I would wait and walk to a few places nearby. They were very quick although I didn’t have an appointment and it was done in no time. Very impressed! Very satisfied customer right here. Very friendly also.
I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a Toyota. I called first and the woman on the line was friendly and answered my questions to my satisfaction. It is always important to me that when you call a dealership, the person answering the phone is knowledgeable and represents the business well. I actually went in later that day because I was very intent on financing a new vehicle. I have always had Toyota’s in the past and I loved what they had to offer as far as new Toyota’s. I liked the Toyota Camry 2011 especially in white. I liked this car’s 31 mpg on highway on this car since I am always driving. The salesperson was extremely nice and listened while I told him exactly what I wanted. Since I knew everything about the car and I was prepared with numbers as well, the process really didn’t take that long, a few hours. The salesperson never tried to “oversell” me or change my mind about anything. I got what I came for and I really appreciated that. Overall, I would say my experience at Toyota of Hackensack was a great one.
I was in and out with my new car in about 3 hours, that included meeting with the finance team. Thats the way I like it! I’m not a guy who wants to wait around!:devil(
My experience at Toyota of Hackensack went really well. I bought my 2005 Toyota Camry in for an oil change and with no appointment. I was also hoping they could look at my driver’s side door lock because at times it would not open with my remote. The service advisor was very honest in advising me about the wait time expected to do an oil change and checking the door locks with no appointment. He asked if I could leave the vehicle so I wouldn’t have to wait around several hours. I was able to get a friend to pick me up which worked out great. The service advisor was able to get the oil change and repair my door locks all by 5pm. I also need an alignment and tire rotation which I had them do. In all, I was really happy because everything I needed was done and all without an appointment. I was really happy with the service and service advisor. 😀
This is a horrible dealer to make business with!! TRUST ME GUYS!! When you are first shopping for a car they of course are very nice but after NOT AT ALL!! they dont pick up the phone, hold you on the phone ultill you just give up and they are so rude on the phone!!i pay over 80 dollars a month for a service/maintance plan and everytime i call to bring my car in they dont pick up!!! it is so rude!!! or they made me wait hours on the phone!!! so basically i just have to show up in persona and wait hrs!!! … worst service ever!!! THIS GUYS SUCKS!!!! …s
Looked at a used 2006 BMW 530 XI with navigation. When I test drove the car I noriced the navigation dvd was missing and the headlights had condensation in both of them. I was told that before I pick up the vehicle, that this was going to be taken care of. I advised the sales man, Jose Cepeda, that a friend of mine bouth a BMW and where he bought the car they never gave him the dvd for the navigation system. He promissed me that he was going to make sure I get these prblems fixed. When I went to pick up the car on Saturday July 25, 2009, the automatic wiper’s sensor cover was missing and I asked Jose what happened? his response was when another bmw comes in I’ll take it from that car and give it to you. So I said, “and make another unhappy costumer.” His response should had been I will order the cover from the bmw dealer, not take it from another one. I have been several times back to Toyota of Hackensack and I still keep getting the run around.
no star for this dealer, They took advantage of my mother the finance department stuck it to her for being a Hispanic senior citizen and believing she was getting a lower interest rate but got a higher one instead and was not explained the contract buyer beware please take someone with you that reads and writes and ask lots of questions don’t believe what they tell you make sure check what they write on the contract. Salesman Mike A my mom is still waiting for you to fix her problem and her phone call she is still waiting it’s only been two months.
