My sales experience at Superior Volvo was terrible. When it came to negotiating the price they offered to take so little off the sticker it was a joke. When I went to pick up the XC 90 truck was the first time they told me my truck was Sirus Radio prepared and not Sirus Radio installed and they wanted $700.00 to install it. I upgraded to rubber floor mats and the turck had cloth mats, when I asked where are my rubber mats they tried to tell me I did not order them and they tried to charge me twice. When I talked to the general manager about the bad service he was very rude and condesending and threatened to cancell the deal. The service and finance departments are good but every salesmen and the general manager are dishonest and rude.
Arrived on a Saturday morning to look at a certified Volvo S80. We had watched the Superior website for a month and talked to a friend who recommended we contact Stan. We walked around for a while and looked at various models. Stan was very courteous. We finally decided on a car that had quite a few paint issues for a car that was only one year old and certified, but Stan agreed that those problems could be fixed. We took the car for a test drive and the car drove great.
The asking price for the car was $29,900 plus a $299 “administrative fee”. The Carfax report indicated that this car had been a rental car. We knew it had been at Superior for at least a month. Our initial offer was $27,000, about 90% of the asking price. We also indicated that we would not be paying any administrative fee. Stan took the offer to the general manager and after a while returned, indicating that out offer was not acceptable. After some discussion we increased our offer to $28,000.
The general manager returned with Stan and advised us that they were not in the business of losing money and they would contact us when they had a car “that is within your budget”. We left.:mad:
Double-check that they actually service what you ask them to service. I just looked at my air filter 2 weeks after my 30k mile service and it was the same one I put in there at 15000 miles and dirty as heck! I wish I knew how to check if they replaced the cabin-air filter…I suspect they bamboozled me on that one too. I was cheated, plain and simple. On the plus side, The loaner car was great (XC90) and they greeted me with a smile! The cost of the service was accurately quoted however I wonder why they put conventional oil in a car that is supposed to have only synthetic oil per the manual:confused:? I wonder if these guys are worth the price or are we all cash-cows when car sales fall. I am headed to Lawrence next time for service -Caveat Emptor!
I was looking for a quality dealer to buy a new Volvo S40. While browsing the net, I stumbled on a well-known Volvo dealer website http://www.superiorvolvo.com/. The clarity of information available on the website was amazing. Starting from the Home page, the website is entertaining and informative in all its section. What attracted me is the Online Special section. The offers in this section are similar to special offers made during Christmas. I took advantage of the New Vehicle Special section to buy the car I wanted and received a great offer to go with it. This dealership’s website is a must visit for those looking for an informative and entertaining dealership website offering great online deals for all new and pre-owned Volvo cars.
