Very unethical. All kinds of fees. Look very carefully at both your loan and sales contract. If they told you that you must bank with their bank for a certain amount of time, like six months or else they will bill you extra, contact NYS Attorney Generals office for Suffolk County. Don’t pay Doc Fee. Don’t buy any extended warranty. Don’t pay VSI. All are money makers for dealer and do nothing for you. Don’t buy a car from here. Nothing is above board here. They operate by deception because if the light was shined on all of the real costs they would not be competitive. Most all car dealerships tell half truths but this place is the reason people hate buying a car, they are everything that is wrong with the process. Enjoy my $75 Security Dodge
I write this review to help prevent the incredible disservice a person will likely receive if they do business with Security Jeep/Dodge. It’s also important to know that I am a past customer of Security Jeep having purchased a new 2012 Jeep Liberty. This time around, I am in the market for a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited. I am trading in a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible 4LT Centennial edition. I did my homework on both the value of my trade according to Kelly Blue Book (avg. trade in 42k) and the price the Wrangler is selling for. In obtaining the value of my trade, I was accurate about the condition of the car which included needing four new tires. A set of tires is about $1500. To my surprise, Security Jeep only offered me $30,500. When I questioned the value and asked if they accounted for all of the options, they said they missed that it was a 4LT. As a result, they gave it a new value of $34,000. An hour later, working with a sales manager, they dropped the value to $32,000. I have since learned that many auto dealers pay for a service from Galves which is known to place valuations on vehicles significantly lower than companies like KBB and NADA. I decided to shop elsewhere as their offer was quite far off from the KBB valuation. I went to another dealer who offered $38K on my trade but did not have the Wrangler I was looking for. I decided to go back to the Kelly Blue Book website where I saw an option for an instant cash offer. I entered all of my car information and was presented with a $39,018 offer. Ironically, Security Jeep was listed as one of the three places where I could receive that amount. I took the offer to Security and asked for a sales manager. It was there I was introduced to Sunny Kaliandasani. Warning: if you find yourself working with Sunny, run! I explained the entire situation to Sunny and showed him the offer. Sunny along with the other sales managers were immediately defensive. One manager suggested that if they had to honor the 39K offer, then they would charge me above sticker price for the Jeep. The entire time Sunny even stated that he would be doing me a huge favor by selling me this jeep and taking my trade. He required that I pay him full sticker price for the Jeep. At this point, I was worn down and couldn’t negotiate any further, so I agreed. The next day, I spoke to Sunny to arrange to sign the paperwork. I tried several times to reach him and had to keep leaving messages. I finally got in contact with him at 4PM only to hear him change the entire story. He stated that for them to honor my trade in price, he needed me to drive to his shop, complete paperwork, then pickup one of his salespeople and drive us both to Mannheim Auctions in Lancaster, PA which is a 3hr 30 minute drive. Sunny stated that this was their requirement to accept this trade even know Kelly Blue Book does not stipulate that. It became clear to me that Security Jeep had no interest in selling me the Jeep. Keep in mind that with Security Jeep’s original trade offers they hoped to make over $10,000 by devaluing the trade. That represents 25% of the total deal value and does not include what the dealership makes on selling the jeep. Clearly, Security Jeep is more interested in extracting unjustified profits than building a happy customer base.
Last night I picked up the exact Jeep that I was looking for at another dealership. Unfortunately, I had to go to a dealer that was 25 miles away, but they gave me the full value of my trade and also discounted the sticker price off the car. The end result is me being a happy Jeep customer but one that will never enter Security Jeep again. Buyer beware of Security Jeep and Sunny.
By far they are the most shady dealership I have ever been to. They literally tried to rob me of thousands of dollars. Stay far away from these thieves!!!
Bought a Certified Pre Owned Car,and have had problems from the night I drove it home. Brought it in several times for the same problems AFTER MANY phone calls to get service on it, and they seem to have a Severe Problem retuning phone calls. Noone went over the car with us to tell us how the vehicle works. Very dissapointed! Still trying to resolve this problem!
Horrible that’s all I have to say stay away from this dealership they don’t stand by what they sell and the owners son Johnathan who is a “manager ” is so rude and not helpful in anyway promises are made and not followed up on and when you express you are not happy it is dismissed they don’t care about keeping customers and Johnathan knows nothing his answers to questions are short rude and unintelligent what sad is that his family owns this dealership and he knows nothing he should be trained instead of giving misinformation beware you will be very disappointed and treated poorly if you choose to buy a vehicle here .
I feel the same way. I haven’t dealt with Jonathan, but I have had the same problems with the Used Car Manager, and the Service Manager. Noone returns phone calls. They tell you what you want to hear, then blow you off!
Our salesmen Hal is a great guy! We have actually bought 2 cars from him while he was working at Herbee dodge in west islip. My husband and I purchased a brand new 2012 Jeep Liberty, after only a week or so of having it we started having problems with it! The drivers side heated seats started working when it wanted to. When the heat was on the radio would turn on and off and the heat would start to blow out even more. Eventually the radio started turning on and off with the heat being off. We brought in the car to be checked out and after 7 hours of my car being there they finally called me to tell me there is nothing wrong with the car. What they didn’t know is that my husband video taped the radio turning on and off. We went straight back down to dodge and showed the service manger Kevin the video and decided that he was going on order a new radio. That was a week ago and we’re still waiting. He also told my husband that the heated seats only work when it’s cold outside! Which is a complete lie! This is my fourth car with heated seats and I have NEVER had a problem with them and yes I use the heated seats in 90 degree weather when my back hurts! My husband and I have called over and over and they don’t return your phone calls. Then all of a sudden our sales man called and said they told me to call you because your having trouble with your car. Why is our sales man calling us? He did his job, he sold the car. Why isn’t the service department calling us? Every time you call they transfer you to a voice mail. I will NEVER go to security dodge ever again!!! this battle is not over yet!! They have done nothing but LIE!!!
It is true…The service at this dealership is NOt good at all. They just want to sell their cars and extended warranties and once that is done, they don’t care if your unhappy with their service. They are just a façade! It looks good on the outside but when you need service…Rhe company does not stand by their costumers!
Hi Megan,
Do you know Hals last name or where he is working now? My family has bought several jeeps from him in the past at Herbee but Security said he is no longer working there.
Hi Megan,
Do you know Hals last name or where he is working now? My family has bought several jeeps from him in the past at Herbee but Security said he is no longer working there. We are interested in contacting him because we will be in the market soon!
I would recomend Security Dodge to anyone looking to trade-in a car our truck. They gave me top dollar for my trade and also gave me the best price around on a new truck. The sales staff was very friendly and honest.
Wait until you’ll need service in your car and then let us know how satisfy you are. Of course they want to give you TOP dollar as long as you BUY a car from them. The main problem with this company is SERVICE. When you need service done to your car, go somewhere else! Save yourself time and the stress of dealing with them…
I purchased an 08 corvette with the deal including 4 brand new tires they only put 2 front tires on the car and found 2 used tires for the rears. They blew me off when i called them about the rear tires i called there complaint department they said they would then put the tires on the car 3 months went buy and never heard from them. This is the worst dealership i have ever dealt with they gave me an attitude over a simple agreement. I sold the car so i would never have anything to do with them.I called the dodge main headquaters and filed a compliant, also calling consumer affairs.NO one should ever be treated this way ,STAY AWAY FROM SECURITY DODGE !
This dealer ship is a joke….No phone calls back Saleperson quotes a price than say the credit is less than perfect and never returned call. After calling I went in spoke to the manager and his response was you can always go to another dealer. Im glad I followed his advice and went to Port Jeff Jeep. Not only did they beat the price but they got the credit done with in an hour with no issues. I would never buy or a car or send some one there cause they are full of shit!
Run!!!!!!!!!! Unprofessional, dishonest and clueless.
I bought a car from them off the internet and their price was over 3500 dollars cheaper then any one near me so I drove 60 miles to save a lot of money
August,2010…I inquired about a 2007 Shelby gt500 mustang. That was up for sale on their website for a modest 49,000.00.went down to the facility to take a look…ended up purchasing the vehicle for a whopping $59,995.00..as soon as I took delivery of the vehicle,I noticed immediately that the a/c did not function, only blowing out hot air.I immediately notified my salesman,Johnathan of this.
His answer to me was “the windows have to be rolled up in order for the a/c to work…” sooo, after driving the car back to my office in hauppauge, which is 18 miles distance, I was soaked with sweat and dehydrated:-) …I called back to tell Johnathon that his advice was incorrect,so he scheduled a service appointment to repair my non/functioning AC on a car that I just paid all that money for,,
Finally, after 3 attempts, we decided to let sayville ford do the repair, just about 5 weeks. Ago,being that I haven’t used the car all winter and spring,,This is where the story takes Off…the car was at sayville ford for about a week due to waiting for the AC compressor, which was the culprit,,,the entire AC system was replaced and the service advisor at sayville ford managed to get ford to pay for half the repair, even though ALL warranty had been exhausted by this time,,,security dodge agreed to pay for NOTHING,,,,By this time, as you all may know,I was totally disgusted with both security dodge and their $60,000.00 piece of junk,so,I inquired about trading the Shelby in toward a new 2012 gt500…upon sayville ford apraising the car,I was immediately called into the inspection bay,as it appeared that there was solid knowledge of that car being involved in a front collision, whereby the frame rails were comprimised..this information led me onto a thourough investigation to determine if, in fact the information provided to me was accurate and true..I later discovered that in fact, it was my salesman,Johnathon who on a Saturday was showing off with the car at the time by doing a burnout in front of his friends and staff in the parking lot of his family’s dealership…I discovered that this incident took place on the east side of the dealership parking lot, resulting in propelling the car at a high speed into the middle of the adjacent roadway, colliding with another vehicle driven by an innocent woman..
After this incident I was told by an informant that Johnathan and family paid CASH to the woman (who I now have her info) make this incident “go away”….the damaged Shelby GT500 Mustang was repaired “discreetly” by Security Dodges on site body shop, and patched up to sell to the next ASS for its drivers seat “that being me of course”…repairing a vehicle this way will show a clean carfax report… Security Dodge. ,nor Johnathon either disclosed any information about the car having ANY prior damage,in fact they concluded that the car was”mint, cherry, accident free..I also thank the prior owner in Allen pa ..for all his help,(I cannot disclose his name here, but I will in court)…I run a successful printing /automotive graphics business in Hauppauge, and this car was to be used for show purposes to promote my businesses…..I am now too. Imbarassed to even start the thing up..
Had a scheduled oil change. Arrived at 9 am left at 10:30 . Upon arrival told by person who took jkeys should be about ten minutes!!!! Got upafter 1hour and 15 minutes and saw my vehicle parked outside, asked girl at desk why my car is outside and why I am still waiting. She said he is probably doingthe paperwork. 15 minutes later, she goes back to and and pulls paperwork off his desk. Something is not right here!

PRETTY GOOD DIDNT DEAL WITH A SALESMAN ONLY THE OWNER AND MANAGER
Maryann was extremely pleasant to deal with. She made my family feel like her family and really made the whole experience easy. Buying a car can be a harrowing experience.Overall thumbs up to security dodge!
p.s. the minivan drives great!
I put money down on a new car the price sounded good.It took me three days to get a written price quote and a recept for my deposit.
I was very surprised when I went to pick up my new car, the price had increased by about $ 4000.
Bad news.
The sales hid until I left.
This is why the public does not trust car salesman…….
promise you your car the next day and 3 days later still waiting for the repair to be done
They switched contracts on me. They sent the higher amount to Island Federal.
I was treated like dirt. They told me “get lost” when I was there. They threw a 2 year warranty on that I never was told about nor signed for. I hear they can carbon a signature and that’s what they did – because I NEVER signed for it.
The DA has been notified, and I am persuing it in court. Dodge headquarters does not care, nor was of help.
They refused to show me my original contract. I am high and dry with the bank because the bank needs a check from them for two grand for this “added contract” that they shelled out.
Do not even Think about going to this dealership.
BEWARE.
