EVERYONE I dealt with gave me top service and I highly recommend this family-owned dealership. I had interactions with the following who all provided A++ Customer service: Allen Biskup (GSM), Chris Johnson (SM and Finance), Jim Gormly (my Sr. Sales Consultant). This is my 2nd vehicle from Pltn Ford and I will go back again and again. Visit here and buy/lease with confidence.
I bought a Ford Vehicle, at a Ford Dealership, with a Ford factory warranty, and the car was even CERTIFIED pre-owned, 2 years old, 16K miles.
Dealer is 90 miles from my house. They had the car I wanted and I worked out what I thought was a good price.
After driving 5000 miles, I rotated tires at the local Ford dealer. Now there is a lot of noise coming from the front, and shaking coming from the rear. A few weeks later, after realizing that I was NOT being “sensitive” and there might actually be something wrong, I took the car to my local dealer who said it was a bent rear axle. $850 please.
Ford will not warranty a bent axle. They assume I slammed into something and bent the axle. I can understand this, but I did not do this. And there is clear logical evidence that explains how this damage remained hidden until I rotated the tires. It is clear that if the original tire had been on the bent axle for some time, the tire would have been cut to the deformity in the axle and so the bent axle would not be detected until either: 1. Someone actually did the 135 point inspection that I paid for in a Certified vehicle (one HAS to question whether this happened or not) wherein the car would be put on a lift and the tires would be spun to check for any wobble. 2. You rotate the tires, put a perfect tire on the rear and now experience the vibration and hear a lot of noise from the front tire that is now on a straight axle but is cut to match the deformity of the bent axle. (I experienced case 2.)
Even though the FORD name is on everything, Ford will not stand behind this repair. I wasted at least 3 hours with Ford Customer Service trying them to make this right. They told me it is a “sale issue” with the dealer, which is “independently owned and operated”. Nice disclaimer even though the Ford name is on EVERYTHING. Also, the dealer, after avoiding a week’s worth of phone calls, upon being pressed by me to make it good, made note that it is “my word against theirs”.
Just to add, my wife gets jealous over how I treat my car, I did not bend the axle. Where I live, there ARE NO potholes.
So, if you buy a Ford and there is hidden damage, Ford will not stand by it, and certainly this dealer will not make things right.
If you ever buy a Ford vehicle, at a Ford Dealer, under Ford factory warranty, that is also Ford Certified, you STILL NEED TO GET AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION!!!!! Ford Certified means nothing. Save your money.
If you buy from this dealer, expect no actions to make things right after you drive off the lot. It’s yours buddy…and so is the bill.
Firstly, I have to say this review is not a reflection on the NEW sales department by any means as my only experience with this company has been with the USED sales/service department.
I recently purchased a truck from this company with an AS-IS contract. When I was in the process of the purchase, the salesman and his manager were seemingly very pleasant and helpful. However, the next day that I owned the tuck, it over heated.
I called them to see what they could do. After I persuaded them to do “something” to help me as I just bought the truck the DAY BEFORE. I had the truck towed to them so they could inspect it. Their service department claimed it was a “bubble” in the radiator, so they flushed it out and replenished the fluid. Needless to say I was pretty grateful that thye had actually done this in good faith.
However, 4 days later, the truck over heated again. I brought it to a shop near my work and was told I needed a new radiator. This is AFTER Plantation Ford’s Service department claimed they fixed the truck. $500 later, I now have a new radiator, and HOPEFULLY a sound truck.
When I called the Used Sales manager I dealt with to explain my disappointment, he claimed there was nothing they could do…when I said I’d file a report with the Better Business Bureau he said “I already know what they’re going to ask; was it AS-IS?”
So, be aware, this company will sell you anything to get you out the door; but don’t expect ANY service once you’ve left the lot!!
I thought I blew the transmission on my Escape. I was prepared to either spend big bucks or trade the car in for a new one. Manny got the car in right away. He called an hour later to tell me that it was just the shifter cable that broke. A cheap repair. Honest guy. I easily could have spent much more without knowing. I would definately recommend!
