Well, where do I start! My experience with this dealership has to be the worst experience that I have had to date when shopping for a car! The first red flag for me should have been when I went to go look at a 2014 Nissan Sentra that looked very nice in the pictures on the website and was reasonably priced, but when I saw it in person it was clear that the car had been in some sort of collision. The rear bumper on the passenger side of the car was GLUED on with ZIP-TIES holding it in place! After I noticed it, I pointed it out to the salesman Mr. Mike Dispenza and his reply was “It’s a used car bro.” Not a very professional way to answer in my opinion. Now, I am not an unreasonable person. I know that I am buying a used car and that there will be dings, scuffs, etc. That is to be expected, but GLUE and ZIP-TIES?? Really?? It goes to show the quality of cars these guys sell!! I was shown several other cars by Mr. Dispenza and I finally settled on one that I was content with. The car was a certified pre-owned 2015 Corolla with only 25,000 miles on it. The car had a scrape and a dent on the bottom of the passenger side rear door. I asked Mike if I purchased the car would he repair the damage. He advised me that he would not be able to pull out the dent, but would have the service department touch up and paint the scrape. I thought that was fair and agreed. The deal was struck and I took the car home the same evening.
The following day, I noticed that the front plastic grill piece was cracked. I also noticed that the front passenger tire had a huge chunk missing from the side-wall of the tire! A huge safety issue! I went back to the dealership and pointed it out to Mike thinking it was an honest oversight by the service department. I asked him to please replace the tire because it was a safety issue, and a certified pre-owned car should never have been placed on the lot in the first place with a tire like that. He proceeded to tell me how it wasn’t an issue and that the car goes through a 170 point inspection, yada, yada, yada and he wasn’t going to replace it. Clearly, a B.S answer! He did not want to replace the tire and wanted me to pay for it! After giving me a hard time about it, I told him, let’s take it to a neutral party like a Goodyear and have them look at it. If a reputable tire shop says it is okay, then I am fine with it. He refused, and then all of a sudden agrees to replace it for free. He knew the tire was bad and was willing to put me and my family at risk by not replacing it and letting us drive it like that! Shameful!! Then, I told him to forget touching up the dent like he originally agreed to do and instead to just replace the cracked front grill on the car, which would have been a much easier job than touching up the dent. He agreed and said his manager was going to order it for me.
A couple of weeks later when I was contacted letting me know my plates had arrived, I asked Mike if the grill his manager had ordered for me had arrived and sure enough he refuses to replace it, saying that he never agreed to do so! A typical salesman! Agreeing to do something just to get you to sign the papers and then not following through! Perhaps the worst part of it all is that I contacted the manager of the dealership to let him know what had happened in hopes that we would work together to rectify the problem. I spoke to Giuseppe Pugliese. I advised him of what occurred and he said he would look into it and call me back. Of course, he never did! Shows you how much he actually cared about making things right, taking care of the customer and the reputation of the dealership!
Honestly, I would seriously stay away from this place! They only care about you before you sign the papers and couldn’t care less about taking care of the customers! How can you have faith in a dealership like this if you have a problem with your car? Find a dealership and salesman that works hard to make their customers happy and appreciates their business! I should have walked away when I saw the ZIP-TIES!!
I recently purchased a used car from this dealership. My sales person was Sal and I had a good experience. I hate car shopping but he definitely made it easier and more pleasant. The finance department on the other hand was trying to tack on some unnecessary fees. I wasn’t happy about that, but it’s typical car sales tactics. I noticed a slight alignment issue after I brought it home and Sal was able to get it scheduled for a car service right away. Overall, I would recommend purchasing a car from them.
Although my sales person was fine when buying the car I met the GM who was extremely pushy about the sale of the car and when he saw that I got upset, didn’t give me my space to think- he just kept pushing. When I went back due to faulty wiring in an after market speaker that was the in car when I bought it- I had to fight to get someone to get my calls where they needed to go!! And now that I have more concerns- they are being nasty!!
I just want to know how the Used Car Manager could miss faulty wiring and an aftermarket speaker system in a car when they actually did their certify inspection!! I feel nervous that this car will have future issues due to this wiring and that I won’t get the service I deserve!
Rude! Salesman tried to pull the bait-and-switch but I walked out before he did.
