Hamid was extremely helpful, he took us for as many test drive requested , he was very honest and courteous
I purchased a land rover discovery from Santa Monica rover a month ago and I wanted to wait to see how my car preformed before I wrote a review, I actually had a little problem with the navigation system and I took it back to camran the owner at the dealer, he was extremely helpful, they fixed the navigation despite that i purchased the car in as is condition without charge within an hour. The price for my cars was great, and the interest rate they got for me is very good. I definitely recommend this dealer. They got my business today and for sure in the future.
i visited and purchased a 2003 range rover in January 2013 i have had the best experience of purchasing cars ever, they treated me with respect and they were very honest with me ,Santa Monica rover secured my financing despite my credit is less than perfect
at first i a reviews which i found out later that in used car business you can not make everyone happy .everyone has a different expectations .i purchased my five months ago from santa monica rover and i am a very happy customer

These guys are the real deal. Since getting a great deal on a range rover sport 7 months ago, I have not had any problems whatsoever. Hornburg dealerships are all scummy and ask way too much. Cameron has assisted me in purchasing an extended warranty for both my rover and my Audi. THE place to go for a used Rover in LA.
I want to give an update on my experience with Santa Monica Rover. After 2 days of trying to contact them I received an email from then Camran the GM to call. Once I called we negotiated a financial assistance payment to assist me in getting this my engine repaired, (which is less than 1/3 of the total estimated repair costs per the local Land Rover Repair facility). I asked him to put his offer in writing as he couldn’t tell me specifically when the check would be mailed as it had to go through finance to be written. In that conversation he stated that he would email me his offer and then next week the check would be written. I’m still waiting to receive his offer by email. Both Camran and I stated our desire to have this end on a positive note. I have heard from the BBB in the Santa Monica area and want to be able to close this issue on the positive side.as To return the vehicle would cost me another $2800 (out of sates purchase) plus I really like the vehicle except the engine.
I want to give a further update: Santa Monica Rover sent me a check to assist with the repairs to my engine.
at first i saw some of the reviews which i found out later that in used car business you can not make everyone happy .everyone has a different expectations .i purchased my five months ago and i am a very happy customer
i purchased a car about three years ago and to this date all mr repairs been servicing the car .not even a single problem exept after three month of purchase the radiator went out and santa monica rover repair it at their cost as a courtesy which they did not have to do.i strongley refer them to all my friends and family
i purchased my third car from santa monica rover past monday .i was treated with full respect and great deal was presented to me
thank you camran and simon
I made a out of state purchase of a Land Rover from this dealership 2 weeks ago and had it shipped to my place of residence. At time of purchase the mileage was 60014. In transit it was driven by the carriers exactly 3 miles. When my shipper called me to pick up my vehicle two weeks later the mileage was 60017. It had a ticking in the engine which I asked Benjamin and Camran about and they both said the vehicle was perfect this was just a normal noise.
Absolutely untrue! I also had a vehicle inspection and the inspector said the vehicle had a lifter issue. I purchased the vehicle as it was very low mileage and lifters can be fixed. I was willing to fix lifters but my repair shop says don’t get lifters get a new engine! My complaint is that with 60037 miles and approximately 3 weeks of ownership I find it is not a lifter issue but a block issue and I feel that Benjamin and Camran knew the nature of this vehicle prior to the sale and choose not to disclose this information or even hint about it afterall the vehicle was being shipped out of state and they thought they were finished with it. But there is such a practice as goog faith in business I purchased this vehicle in good faith. I have contacted Santa Monica Rover with no response and am now contacting the BBB. I will advise everyone purchasing from this dealer to beware and maybe get two inspections! It is impossible to believe the exact condition of this vehicle was unknown to this dealership previous to my purchase after all they are in business to make money! And you can be assured they knew what they were doing. I am seeking legal counsel from my attorney for some type of assistance with the purchase of a engine at least as a courtesy also I want the jack that should have come with this vehicle and did not. I will not do business with this dealership again if they do not assist me in this matter and will make known this wrong to anyone that will listen and read.
We bought a 2000 land rover series ii and when wen went home it was leaking oil. It’s not even a year yet and we put in another 6 thousands dollars for the repair to replace engine and then some plus tires. Everything was just bad about this rover. This is a big scam dealership. The rover still a headache to us up to now.
this is camran general manager at santa monica rover.i wish you would of let us know as to what the problem is .this is the first time after a year that we hear the complaint.please contact me personaly and i will try to resolve the problem .thank you
SCAMMERS!!! BUYERS BEWARE!!! I bought a 1999 Toyota 4Runner in fall of 2010. Upon my way home the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on. I repeatedly asked them to fix it. “NO PROBLEM” they said. I went back like three times and all they did was plug it in and reset it. The check engine light is still on and they refuse to fix it. “NO PROBLEM, MICHAEL, NO PROBLEM, WE FIX IT!! ITS ONLY A SENSOR” yeah the one that affects resell. YOU NEED TO FIX IT OR I WILL FILE A SUIT AGAINST YOU. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.
after two years purchase of old toyota 4runner you are complaining about a check engine light .i am still willing to help you eventhough this is only a service issue for the car
Yeppers… now you want to resolve it because I am making people aware of you and your scandalous business tactics.
The reality is you sell cars that are not street legal or have major issues – and you don’t stand behind anything you sell.
Camren, selling a vehicle with the check engine light on in the state of California is illegal….
The cost of getting it fix was $269.00 USD retail, for a dealer, I am sure much less. so you sold a $8,000 truck with 200 dollar fixable problem that you didnt want to fix. you were right, it was a sensor, so why didnt you fix it instead of resetting it? that is where I am annoyed with you, you were honest about it being a sensor, but you lied by saying it was fixed.
You do have a point that I should not have waited a year, however, I took it to you three times within the first month of ownership, and its clear you were never going to fix it. Also, At the time of purchase I lived in Santa Monica, now I live in Castaic – geography and I got tired of you ‘pushing me off on the lot boy’ with a reset.
Why you are hearing from me now? I have been trying to sell it for over 4 months, you come and tell these potential buyers “it’s a sensor”. Every single person walked away with no interest because of the Check Engine Light.
You prevented me from selling my truck that had a ‘state required’ issue that you handed down to me and didn’t want to handle correctly – now the word is out and I hope you have trouble selling that nice rover this weekend.
Also, not sure what clean carfax you showed me at the time of purchase, but its obvious to a handful of people that this right rear fender has been replaced.
Good Bye.
obviousley you are only trying to take advantage of internet to terrorizing us .you purchased a car with almost 200k miles two years ago which you had not had any problem with and now you are complaining about a 200.00 repair after two years
Your way off base… miles are wrong and so is your timeline…
the truck only had 97k miles on it when I purchased it from you, and it currently has only 157k miles. And I bought it only a year ago. does the carfax you hold truly say 200k miles? if so you could have whole other set of legal issues.
Camren, You sold me a truck that was technically not street legal by the state of california when you sold me the truck with the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I went to you three times to fix it and you clearly were never going to. I think potential buyers need to know this.
I speak the truth from my experience in buying a used vehicle from you. next time maybe you’ll fix it correctly to avoid a karma catching up to you.
Kodafez,
benjamin was great he helped me during the whole process of choosing a car and financing
I have been looking for an inexpensive tow vehicle for my 1968 Rancho El Rey camping trailer, and I saw that Santa Monica Rover had a 1998 Land Rover Discovery at a good price advertised on AutoTrader.com. I drove up from San Diego on Saturday and test-drove the Rover, and bought it for cash. The owner, Kamran, referred me to a delivery service that trucked it down to my house in San Diego at a very reasonable price. I am having some work done on it (new shocks, catalytic converter, and muffler), but nothing that would be considered unreasonable for a 14-year-old vehicle with 104,000 miles. I should mention that when I purchased the Rover it was very clean inside and out, with a good set of tires. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from Santa Monica Rover again.
i got a whale of a deal .very low rate finacing despite my credit is less than perfect
Everything about Santa Monica River stands out in comparison to any other used car dealership that I have ever encountered. I purchased a 2000 BMW 3 series at Santa Monica Rover. I love this car. I bought it at a great price. Customer service was great. I enjoyed every moment I spent at this dealership. I truly recommend this dealership for all those who would like to save some money and purchase a car that will last you a long time. They truly know what they are doing after years of being in this business.:)
I don’t know what the person below me is talking about, because that doesn’t sound like the Santa Monica Rover I know. What He/she said is not true at all. He/she must have just had a bad experience with a car they probably dinged up. Nonetheless, it is not my business, and I will continue with my review of this dealer.
Santa Monica Rover took care of me. Never before have I seen such a dealer that gave me such appreciation and actually treated me like a friend, not a customer. When I walked in, the warmly greeted me, making me feel apart of the family. They asked me what kind of car I was looking for, and I told them I was mainly interested in a black Range Rover sport. They showed me many RR sport’s, and did not push me into buying them at first. They gave extremely reasonable prices, and I really enjoyed my experience with them. I went back to get my daughter a car from them and I received the same type of accommodation I was given the first time I went there. If you want to actually deal with professionals that actually know what they are doing, deal with them. They will take care of you, as opposed to other dealer’s that just want your money. They are the definition of a high-class dealer. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

If you want to be cheated and lied to, go ahead and do business with Santa Monica Rover. If I could undo my purchase, I would do so.
Here is what happened to me. I found a Land Rover I liked on the internet and called Santa Monica Rover about it. After agreeing to a price, I asked the salesperson to tell me what problems the vehicle had. I was assured that it was in almost perfect condition with everything functioning correctly. I lived some distance away, and so I sent a very reliable family member to test drive and check out the vehicle. He did so and inspected it for almost an hour. All that he found wrong with the vehicle were a couple of small scratches/dings.
I then paid for and had the vehicle shipped to me. After I received the vehicle, this is what I found:
1. Sometime after the inspection, someone driving the vehicle had sideswiped something, leaving scratches on the mirror cover, rear passenger door, and rear panel. They look terrible.
2. Part of the purchase price was a car detailing of the vehicle. That was never done. It showed up very dirty inside and out.
3. When my family member test drove the vehicle, he asked about the navigation system and was told that Santa Monica Rover does not keep navigation disks in the vehicles (so that they are not stolen) but that the car would come with one and that the navigation system functioned very well. They said the same about the CD 6-disk holder. Well, the Range Rover showed up with no navigation disk and no CD 6-disk holder. After several calls they finally sent out a navigation disk and CD holder. The CD holder was the wrong size and I ended up having to shell out $70 to buy my own at the local Land Rover Dealership. The navigation disk probably works – that is, if your navigation system works. Those liars intentionally did not have the disk in the vehicle so that we would not know that the navigation antenna (on the top of the vehicle) is non-functional. They refused to fix this and getting it fixed at the dealership would be extremely expensive.
4. I just found out that they shipped the vehicle with a screwed up, flat spare tire. After taking it to a tire shop, I was told that the tire had been driven on while flat and was “junk”. It will need to be replaced to the tune of $260.
There were a handful of other items that were either broken between when the vehicle was inspected and when I took possession of it or were concealed by them during the inspection process.
If you think or hope that they will resolve these concerns when you bring them to their attention, think again. They will argue with you as long as it takes to make you go away. They eventually, after I had employed an attorney and he sent a letter, sent me a check for $250 to cover the cleaning of the vehicle – nothing else.
I understand that some salespeople stretch the truth to make a sale. But, these guys willfully and knowingly flat-out lied, hid stuff, sideswiped something and never brought it to my attention, ignored my requests for help, and effectively said “screw you – we fooled you, got your money, and now we don’t ever want to see you again.”
If that is the type of experience you would like to have, go ahead and buy from them. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and steer clear of these crooks.
you had your family member checked the vehicle and they were satisfied .you had the vehicle shipped to canada .the dent on the car was an old dent and your father was aware of it .as far as detailing the car got dirty during transport i have no control over that and we also as a courtesy sent you a $250 for cleaning tthis car again
Yes, listen to this guy. in general, if a customer was satisfied, why should he write a positive review? We all expect the utmost professionalism and it is only when our experience is negative, we feel the need to express our discontent.
I need not write the laundry list of issues that infuriated me.
Instead, I will caution anyone who is considering purchasing a Range Rover here to bring a mechanic or at least another Range Rover owner. If I were to do it again, I would buy from a private party or a Dealer that practices accountability.
Agreed My friend.. Dirty Dealings Indeed.
I believe every word you said based on how I’m being treated!, I like you am going to my atty to see what recourse I have. They know nothing about being truthful. They give dishonesty a new lower meaning. Read my review, “Shafted”
