Unsatisfied with my current brand of car I decided to look at the feasibility of getting into a Nissan truck. Much of the earlier communication was done via text and email because I live an hour away. Throughout the day the sales team and communicated, ran some numbers by the end of the day the deal did not seem feasible. At this point, I thanked the sales manager, let them know Nissan was my 1st choice but would be looking at and pursuing other options. Up to now, the dealership appeared to be acting in good faith, with a modicum of integrity and representing the Nissan band well.
Unfortunately, that would not last long. I was in the process of finalizing a good deal on another truck when a sales representative from Nalley Nissan reached out and presented what would later be confirmed to be lies by the Sales Manager. I received a message on the original text chain about the trade value of my car. The new information presented “we use similar programs to apprise. Anything they can do we can to” This was referring to an incentive program from another dealership. This new information not only put my number 1 choice (Frontier) well within reach it would have given me more than $2,000 to put toward service contracts or optional upgrades. With no need or desire to pursue my 2nd choice I stope exploring other options and informed the other parties working on the 2nd choice truck I would not be moving forward with the pre-owned Colorado which was later sold. After many other texts pressuring me to drive the hour for a test drive, and many requests to see new deal sheets ignored or dismissed, I called the manager. This is when he confirmed what I was told were lies and no such incentive programs existed.
In Summary
Dealerships and sales teams representing your brand act with not integrity and lie to customers in hopes they will fall for the bait and switch technique.
These Lies and lack of integrity cost me and likely other customers money.
Dealership behaved immorally and used deceptive sales techniques. This behavior tarnishes brands.
The Sales team acted depravity. This destroys customer loyalty.
Here is a complete review about Nalley Used Cars (Decatur, GA):
Since I was about to start a new job I definitely needed to buy a car. My mom suggested me to go to Nalley Nissan located at 1625 Church St., Decatur (GA). I was online checking the reviews on this dealership and thought that I was about to purchase a great car. From the first day I bought my car from them it has been a continuos agony.
First month:
I bought the car from the dealership without headlights, engine check light ABS light and a problem with the OBD port from the first day that I bought the car. I really needed the car and wasn’t told about this problem until they ran my credit five times and after signing the papers for the “Deal.” I went home hoping that it was going to be the only problem with this car. Unfortunately it was not. After a few weeks while driving a wheel fell off of my car. The lugs and the nuts were stripped because whoever was checking the car at the dealer did not put the wheels back on the car correctly. Luckily it happened on Ponce de Leon Ave. so I was not killed and I called AAA to ask them to take the car back to the dealer. The day I brought the car back there was also a suspension problem so I had to leave the car with them for those two major issues. I was promised that I was going to get my car back the day after but the dealer made me walk over to them a few times always stating that they did not have the car back. I was going to bring the car back to them before the end of the month but they (I guess purposely) gave me back the car when the month was over. Since when I bought the car it also has a ABS light that comes on whenever I reach around 70 miles per hour on the highway.
BTW by car’s cruise control never worked since when I bought it.
I week later I receive a voicemail that my car was now fixed and ready to be picked up.
Second month:
My breaks were already bad so I had to get them changed at AAA. I was “lucky” that the breaks were bad because when they were trying to take off the back tires the repair shop noticed that both wheels had 2 stripped lugs. That day to make sure that I was going to be safe I decide changing wheels, lugs and lug nuts to not risk my life again.
…….
Since when I bought this car I always found problems with it so I was wondering what was going to be the next challenge.
The next challenge? My clutch went out leaving me stranded in the country sleeping on the sidewalk for five days to have my clutch replaced. Clutch replaced, master and slave cylinder replaced and more.
I brought the car then to Atlanta to change another piece to the car.
I am at less then four months from when I bought this car and have over $4000 in receipts going to repairs.
The transmission now has to be rebuilt, the radiator is giving clicking sound problems, the steering wheel shakes on its own when there is a little bumpy road, the car makes a weird noise when on and on neutral.
This is my TERRIBLE experience with this dealership.
Now I am with a car in terrible conditions risking my life everyday and a terrible headache. I will try to contact the Better Business Bureau, the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection and tonight I will also file a police report with the Dekalb County Police for the life threatening things that happened to me. I have so many receipts and so many comments from AAA on everything that happened to the car.
If anyone has extra info on how to help me contact people that will make this dealership work like they are supposed to please contact me.
I will give updates soon!
I am a foreign scientist and was living in the US for only around 2 months when I bought a Nissan Versa from Nalley Nissan, Decatur. The salesman promised me that it was a pre-owned certified car (meaning it was in excellent condition). The salesman promised to clean the interior of the car (for a pre-existing odor) and to fix the dings and scratches (on the exterior) which were the only reported issues. After a test drive he made me put down the entire payment for the car.
Once I made the entire payment, the salesman told me that an engineer would check the car. This surprised me, as they had already promised the car was in good condition. The car was pre-certified. And so I waited that day for over 6 hours at the dealership, following which the salesman came and told me that the car was not going to be ready that day. I was told to come in the following day. This was quite unsettling to me.
The following day, I called up the salesman to check if the car was ready for pick up. At this time, he informed me that the car had emissions trouble, and that this would take one week to fix. I was shocked. He was not even apologetic and furthermore was unwilling to even give me a loaner car.
Finally a week after payment, I received my car. To my dismay the troubles with this car continued for a very long time. Just to list a few of the very many issues that I had. Within the first one month of owning the car, the bad odor inside was still strong, the dings and scratches were not fixed; the car had now transmission trouble as well. Each time I took the car to the dealership they were unable to fix these issues or only fixed them temporarily. Soon the car door handles began to malfunction and there was ignition trouble. In the three months that I owned the car, it was in the car shop for over 29 days for repair. I emailed the dealership for help – however no one contacted me back. So I contacted Nissan North America. They said they did not deal with any Nissan “used car” related issues. I was confused and frustrated with their treatment of me.
Finally I called the dealership again and explained my situation. They told me over the phone that they would change my car. However, when I got to the dealership, they forced me into a “trade-in”, and this meant that I had to pay even more money for a second car. To my utter shock, the second car was a down grade from my first – it had no remote key access and had manual window control, and barely any features I was hoping to get for the amount of money I spent – that too for a second hand car. All in all, I was absolutely mistreated by Nissan, and have been shocked by the quality of their cars and their service. Furthermore as a foreign national, I was taken advantage of because of my situation. I sincerely hope this does not EVER happen to any other person who wishes to purchase a car.
They did a fabulous job and honored my warranty with no problems. I brought my truck to them because Gwinnett Nissan could not fix my truck. I wen to Gwinnett Nissan with an ABS light on and they changed out the ABS sensor. The light stayed on and after making several trips to Gwinnett Nissan I decided to bring it to Nalley Nissan in Decatur. They found that my broken CV axle was hitting the ABS sensor and causing it to illuminate the ABS light. They gave me a rental and changed my ABS senors, CV axles, and bearings. They fixed the problems and all I had to pay was the $50 deductible. They will always get my business with or without a warranty. Thanks Nalley Nissan of Decatur, GA.
Great dealers in the sense of tricking people for their own profit. We were new in town and needed a car – absolutely agree with one of the previous reviews – every psychological trick has been used on us, but we were too tired and in need of a vehicle and didn’t trust our intuition. They sold us a car supposedly “in good condition, with no safety issues” and were overly friendly until we payed. Three days later the inspection at an independent garage showed that the car was ready to fall apart, had major oil leaks which were camouflaged by patches on the engine (!!!). When we called Nalley Nissan their answer was: “oil leaks are not a safety issue, and you didn’t expect to get a good car for that price?” – we payed over 4000 USD for the car.
Nalley Nissan are extremely good crooks in a sense that they see customers as a good source of profit without any sense of shame or professional dignity. We filed a claim against them. Stay away from that place.
My daughters car was having trouble and having worked on all our family cars i diagnosed the fault to be an injector. I spoke to one of the mechanics at Nalley Nissan and he agreed with me. i went to their parts department and spoke to the parts manager Scott madison and explained my concern and asked if he would work with me on the price of the part. he refused and told me since I did not have it diagnosed at the dealer he was not going to reduce the cost of the part.I agreed to purchase the injecter and he went on to say I am going to need the other two as well and I disagreed with him but he insisted and we agreed that I will replace the bad part and see how the vehicle does and if I need more injecters I will come and buy more of them. He went ahead and billed me for three. I was already fustrated with his and decided to leave the dealership and return the other two if I did not need them since he had agreed to take them back. When I had returned the two I did not nedd he refused to take them back and started making racist comments such as ‘you black people always return stuff” I went to the general manager and he refunded my money.
I dont understand how a company can have a racist person like that in charge. Unless, ofcorse the company it self is racist.
It’s real easy to cry Racism behind a pen. I’ve know Scott Madison for years and he is far from it. It he was Racist, he would have the most diverse department in the entire Dealership. People who cry Racism are usually Racist themselves. May the Lord be with you and let your concience be your guide.
