Do not trust these people. None of the staff has any idea of what they’re doing.
I Drive for Uber. Uber website states that Volkswagen is one of the dealerships they have a partnership with to set up lease vehicles with special incentives for Uber drivers.
I spent 6 hours negotiating a lease that I could live with. I shook the hand of the sales manager when I asked him is this all? We’re all done here correct? He stated yes we are you have your car.
I drove the car off the lot and took it home.
I received the call late the next afternoon telling me that I had to bring the car back because Volkswagen finance will not approve a lease where Uber is the sole source of income.
My lease was supposed to be $300 a month and when I took the car back they tried to sell it to me on a finance plan at almost $500 a month. As far as I’m concerned this was strictly a bait-and-switch tactic to get more money out of me a month.
None of the staff was even aware of the Uber arrangement. Not the sales manager, not the salesman, not the finance manager or anyone else at that dealership. They called around and they said that they had gotten the information that they needed to give me the special incentives for the uber driver lease. Then they called me the next day to bring the car back telling me that Volkswagen finance would not approve the lease.
I found out from the finance manager that took the car back that Volkswagen finance will not finance anyone that’s on a 1099, or as a contractor or self-employed for lease.
The only thing this dealership should be concerned with is selling cars. They can’t even do that right.
